I’m probably having this done next Friday…Not at all looking forward to it. I’ll update you on my progress. I have roughly 110-115 degrees of movement but my leg is always stiff. Btw, I don’t blame the surgeon, he’s one of the best, it’s just my physiology.

Wow that’s awesome Rita. It makes me feel so happy that my videos can help you. The meeting went really well with my surgeon and he has discharged me as he was happy with my progress and says that everything I’m feeling now is very normal. Afterwards I went to school and had a meeting with my boss and I am going to go back to work on a very slow phased return from next week!! 👏 Hopefully life is going to start to return to normal. 🤞🏻🙏🏻 Take the plunge and have the MUA Rita!! I’m going to do a vlog after dinner. 👍🏻 Take care and good luck for tomorrow 🥰xx

Hi Rita. Thank you so much for your message. It’s been a difficult week but I’ve started to make progress in the last couple of days. I’m seeing the surgeon today so I thought I would wait for that and then do another vlog so watch out for it either later today or tomorrow. 😘 How are you doing? Did you see your surgeon to find out more regarding the MUA? x

tore my quads in October and had an operation in November. I go to PT and they bend my knee till I scream in pain. They said I got to 70 but the surgeon said I was only around 30 and I will need a MUA. I am worried about the pain being as bad as when they push my leg and I scream. I have even tried to take oxicodone while at PT. and it still hurts real bad. My knee is stiff and hard but I am now out of the brace and using a cane. I also got blood clots in my lungs 2 days after the operation and am on blood thinners. I am worried about the MUA and what the pain will be like.

Hi Jeff and thank you for reaching out. Please let me reassure you that it will be nowhere near as bad as you think. You will be under General Anaesthetic when they do the procedure and when you wake up, it’s like a miracle has happened and your knee will feel much looser than before. My biggest piece of advice is to hire a CPM machine as the challenge is to keep it moving to maintain the new range. It means you still need to do all your exercises but when you want to rest/relax you go on the CPM machine. Good luck and don’t hesitate to ask any further questions.

@@janeskneereplacementjourney I am having second thoughts about a MUA I don't want to go through weeks of pain and then more pain in PT. I am trying to push it at home it just gets so hard and tight. I do feel like it helps though.

Morning Jane, I see the surgeon first thing tomorrow. That’s why I was wondering about you. Has you flex improved, since the MUA? I am not sure which way to go. I am at 90, but am walking well, and can go upstairs one at a time, which I couldn’t do before. I would love to have more bend, but not sure if I want to go through the MUA! I will look forward to your video. I am sure you will answer lots of questions then, including the use of the CPM machine. Sorry to hear it has been a difficult week for you, I am assuming you mean pain and flex wise. Take care thinking of you, Rita 🥰

Hi Rita. I’m just waiting to see my surgeon now and I will definitely do a video later but I can say 100% I recommend having the MUA. I recorded 107 degrees flex at physio yesterday. The MUA is not as bad as you would expect and it has definitely boosted my recovery in terms of range of movement. I will explain more in my video how I’ve been feeling this week. Also, the CPM has been a god send and I would recommend getting one if you have the MUA. Good luck tomorrow and let me know what happens. 😘x

I've been told the pain for the first week is twice as bad as the surgery, is that correct.

Hi, thanks for your message. If you mean the pain after the TKR, yes!! The first couple of weeks is a blur because you’re on so many painkillers, I was feeling sick too and had very little movement so trying to do any exercises is very hard. 😖 If you mean after the MUA it wasn’t bad at all. My knee felt so much looser and I instantly had more movement. I expected a lot of bruising and pain but there really wasn’t any. I hope this helps and good luck if you are about to have a knee op! 🤞🏻🙏🏻
