- Gulmarg is so beautiful! But one thing that people don't know about is that visiting Gulmarg, Kashmir is even possible over a slightly longer weekend if you have a Friday off. And it is a very accessible place if you take a flight to Srinagar. One of the highlights of the place is that it is a very developed winter destination for pursuing sports like Skiing and Snowboarding.
Having said that, I feel like Kashmir is also a very safe place for tourism and one must visit without any doubts that you will have a wonderful experience because of the warm and welcoming locals.

I was in Srinagar, Gulmarg and Pahalgam in Feb during a 3 days long weekend. I completely agree with you that it can be done over a weekend and I did it from Hyderabad. Gondola Phase 2 and the whole view from there was extremely beautiful...everything was very peaceful and locals are very warm amd welcoming. It was my first time in Kashmir and it is truly heaven on earth

Skiing in Kashmir, that just sounds super cool!! and at 14,000ft wow, that is as high as Pikes Peak in Colorado Springs, Colorado USA! Really great views from up there. No skiing just a cog tram railway and automotive road that lead from the base to the lodge at the top. Breckenridge Colorado has the highest skiing in the USA at a top elevation of 12,841 feet 3,914 m. That lunch looked yummy and warm after being out skiing! Is this Himalayan Yeti territory?
