Materials needed to build Airship:
-x20 flexwood
-x6 flex wood rods

Great video love the level of detail. I have built some flying ships as well in survival using similar concepts. Some last 1 flight and others last a few weeks. Game stability and luck seem to be contributing factors. I agree with the simlier approach because you could lose it all in a matter of seconds.

This build is great, one recommendation is that only to put 1 thruster for turning it and add a small balloon on the back end to stabilize it

The front blocks used to turn fall through the platforms randomly. But pop back into place sometimes when I land

Can you but large thrusters on the back and under for more speed?
They're always way buggier so I wouldn't recommend
He's correct they become very unstable the more thrusters you put on it.
I have an idea on how to solve the roller problem because they took one apart for me too. What about building it with some posts? The problem I have with all these devices is that I still haven't figured out how the activation levers work. I usually end up getting it to start all the motors at once. It wouldn't be bad at all to set them up with exactly what they are supposed to control.
I'll give it a try but special a block that could actually wire the lever to a single or multiple thrusters would be nice.

I used this airship for exploration and lost one of my engine mid flight, but still managed to get back to my airport with only 1 engine. Great tutorial, gave me an amazing adventure, thank you! Would be thankful tho if you have a solution to not lose one of the turning engine, like it float off for some reason haha

That really sucks, you can try experimenting with different fence types i found that some work better than others the one I used in the video was for an easy build but if you would like a more complete build try using rustic plank railing I've noticed it works better but still not 100% break proof.
Clever build but that game instability you mentioned really demonstrated itself, part of my ship separated and was flying beside it on its own and as I moved around on the ship it would glitch me underneath and beside the ship like they were connected but there was like 2 meters of space between them. Took about 2 hours to finally pull the build off too so it was disappointing.
That's really weird haven't heard of that happening. I've seen ships explode but never split in half, really weird 🤨 but sorry to hear that happened i hope Epic fixes these issues soon. Like very SOON 🤞

Sounds frustrating but they could be falling out due to a network issue.
Steering breaks just like everything i try build....works fine until steering just glitches out

It was fine up until they updated it again now my thrusters fall out every time I spawn back in 😪 it really sucks.
I have built several of these in survival. All eventually fail. I have built 1 since the update. It is large. About 18 big balloons. 6 big thrusters. 1 small 1 to turn each direction. 1 small and it's drop in piece disappeared. Has 4 beds, fire, and a chest. I placed a village square and crafting bench. Both had to be destroyed because they locked the craft into place. It's still functioning. I think the flaw comes in when the craft moves too fast. Pieces shift and bang. It might be be best to minimize thrusters.
A couple of other things. Make sure it's high enough to clear all trees. To lower, add large foundation pieces to each side.
My next build probably won't have turn thrusters. It will have wings that I'll add weight to to turn.
Have you still experienced rubber banding out of the ship. With this design, it looks like if this happens you will land on your own.
I'm sure it will happen eventually I have a let's play series so we'll find out soon 😁🤣
I tried to build it but when i was in the sky the turning foundations decided that they no longer want to be with me no worries because epic anounced that they are adding a stiering wheel

Steering wheel will help but the added thrusters for extra steer will be even more epic!
Exactly. No matter what design someone comes up with for airships, whether great or simple, they will all fail. I've tried everything. Every turning piece will fly off eventually, no matter the supposed physics of holding it in place with objects...or I just phase through the foundation.
@@AranFever Yea I hope they fix physics the next couple of updates and also add a dumb steering wheel for once airships will be one of the best way to travel just put a large balloon in one single foundation 2 thrusters and a steering wheel which I believe will cost some planks and blast powder will be super cheap and we will be able to move from village to village in the matter of what 1 minute Wich is way better than making dumb stair cases that go over the height of mount everest to just jump of of them this new update kinda sucked

I've been experiencing this after the latest update. 🙃 it really sucks but it only seems to happen when I'm messing around with thrusters and wheels for me. I hope they fix soon

Try not holding the levers instead tap them every couple of seconds, also some problems are caused by connection stability issues that Epic still needs to fix. The other day I had a whole world that was glitched and wouldn't allow me to break anything or place anything down.

All of the parts used in the video can be obtained in survival mode but you need to unlock them first. I know this because I have built one myself in survival.
