So beardy old guys don't deserve portraits too? I'm just teasing you, but really, as someone who paints a lot of portraits, I do appreciate a subject that isn't the usual pretty, attractive, perfect face. It makes it more interesting! After painting dozens of "perfect face" portraits it's fun to get some interesting shapes and wrinkles and facial hair. I bet photographers feel the same sometimes too. :)

I agree about interesting faces, but can’t see anything because of that beard. 😅 I didn’t mean to have a pretty face on every page but to see the skin and how shadows fall. :)

@@AlyonasWatercolourCreations Really I understand, was just teasing, beards are so hard to paint and obscure the face structure, I totally understand!

    20K! You did it! Congratulations!
All of these books would be great to see a more in depth review on great information and/or great reference pictrues!

Gorgeous and inspiring eye candy for flower painters like us! I'm all about the flowers. Books and art supplies are equal obsessions of mine. Thank you for sharing. I'd like to share a book called "The Flower Year" by Leila Duly. It's an adult coloring book but with a hard cover. Irit reviewed it a few months back and had to have it. There's lots of inspiration for floral drawing and watercolor and since it is a coloring book I can take my colored pencils and try out colors for a future painting. You always bring us such delicious art and inspiration!

Laughing about the two men. The second guy was sooo stunning. They should have used him throughout the book. 🤣🤣

The older gentleman with the beard was probably a MUCH cheaper model than the younger one - that's why he was used more in the book!

Love all these books. I have the Hilton Carter one and I have read it cover-to-cover. He has a new book coming out soon, so I'm looking forward to that. I liked that first photography book and would love to see a flip through of that one as well as Urban Botanics and A Year in Flowers. All of it is gorgeousness! I officially ran out of bookshelf space a few weeks ago, but I am sure I can find room for the pretty ones :-)

Love all the Henry Caroll books (Red book) published by Lawrence King. There's also titles like Read This If You Want To Be A Great writer by Ross Raisin, brilliant concept. Others like Read This If You Want To Be Great At Drawing. Excellent books, have all of them, reasonably priced.

I could do my own series on all of my plants I’ve unintentionally killed!

🤣 I go through phases. From having a small jungle and every plant looking picture perfect, then when life gets too busy and I lose the rhythm of watering the plants start showing it. I am trying to buy more resilient and less sensitive plants. I seem to be doing ok with orchids! 😁
