In the 80s it was everything from Iron Maiden to Motley Crue and Guns n Roses. In the 90s it was Korn and Deftones. And so on and so on. What is the future of metal according to you guys? It's pretty much covered everything it has to cover. I'm thinking maybe so electronic digital sound but who knows. What's your take?

This made me love her even more. It doesn’t matter if the band is considered “metal”. Metal is the main genre and there are sub-genres of Metal that a certain band’s sound matches with. Not everyone will know EACH sub-genre because there are TONS. Good for her for going to a Slipknot concert, I’ve always wanted to go. It’s the same thing with Rock. For example: Sub-genres for Rock are alternative rock, classic rock, hard rock, etc.

My dad took me to my first slipknot concert at 13 and was the biggest champ. Didn't want to go an was dreading the entire week prior. After that show he willingly went to 3 more driving upwards to 3 hours to go see them. Awesome performers. Great memories at those concerts

Saxon 4 I at one time judged them when i first heard "wait and bleed". I thought they tried too hard to blend other genres and I actually hated their sound. It had to grow on me. If you can get past their first album then I'm telling you their other albums are quite powerful you should give it a shot instead of making a judgement call.

Oh, I know where to look for new music, I just can't get into Vektor, Godflesh Apocalypse or Enforcer. It's also not that I don't think there weren't any great Metal records released, I quite like Citadel by Ne Obliviscaris or the newest Blind Guardian album, but the Hamilton Cast Recording is just my favourite album recorded this decade, period. It's really fantastic and I highly recommend you check it out.

It's for a lot of people a little hard to understand with all the heavy music, the dark lyrics and the shows with moshpits, etc. I'd sometimes take friends to a rock bar in my town and often they where suprised that my friends there are all so nice.
Maybe we look a bit scary, act a bit violent and listen to heavy music, but we are actually very sweet people :)

I know BFMV and Slipknot are not known for being 'the heaviest of metal' because of their nu or emo status, but just objectively speaking: they are pretty heavy. Some songs or some parts of songs are legit just as heavy as some of the bands who are known for being the heaviest of metal. Silverstein however is indeed pretty funny.
