I'm sobbing in the penalty box rn
I don't even think hockey is a real word
Hockey is better than the main ones
@@Captain_Neckbearddelusional lmao
Fr. Hockey has the most exciting playoffs of all 4 of them
I'll never forget being stuck with WWF In Your House on Saturn while everyone else had WCW vs. The World.
Glad I wasn't alone in my suffering
Y'all got stiffed hard
Yeah that was me...
It's kinda nostalgic now though
Damn.. Luckily I had friends with different consoles.. I played it all.. But I agree "WCW vs The World" is a great game..
The Saturn had one of the best wrestling games ever, Fire Pro Wrestling. However, it was only released in Japan.
As a 5 year old, QB club 99 on n64 was my introduction to football. I would use the acclaim 99 overall team and run the same play over and over, 44 power right and dominate the nfl Europe scrubs. Good times, good times.
Oldest 5 year old of all time
You can tell you are a more modern gamer with this list. Like WWF games for their times were well received. Warzone and attitude were LOVED by wrestling fans at the time. Yes they certainly don't hold up nowadays like a lot of 3D PS1 games but at the time ppl were frothing at the mouth for them.. They lost the license not because of poor games but the fact other publishers offered better deals for WWE.
This video was nicely received

7:24 ...did I just see Hulk Hogan leap over the top rope like freaking Rey Mysterio? Nothing more needs to be said.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Bruh!!!!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Brother, didn't you know that Hulk Hogan taught Rey Mysterio everything that he knows...brother.
Nicely received, Gameday.
You know I love my Warzone/Attitude, but I can’t deny that Acclaim was out of their depth. They stole a whole lot of money from a whole lot of people (mainly kids).
And midway with the Nba jam license.
The Legends of Wrestling series feels like WWE Smackdown but minus 50% of the budget (6:59)
Warzone was revolutionary back in the day, and was the first American console game to go all in on create a character.
Even friends who thought I was insane for watching wrestling (Katie Vick made it hard to argue) were obsessed with that feature.
It was also the first wrestling game to add crowd psychology into the fight. Among other features that would enhance better games.
Ya it was THE GAME that every body wanted during the famed Attitude era. Legendary game. This dude is a moron..
EA has bought and killed countless other game studios, and in doing so has robbed us of great games that never got made as a result. That and their scummy use of loot boxes etc makes them the worst. Acclaim may have made sub par games but there is no way they are worse than EA.
If it’s in the game it’s in the game
2K is worst than EA

Attitude and Warzone had solid reviews back in the day.
The bad reviews come from people who play the game 20 years later and its not fast paced and one button finishers like the Smackdown games that came after.
It only became an issue when the ECW license took over and they released the exact same with a new roster.
Every body loved Warzone. It was easily the best wrestling game.
Don’t take this asswhoopin personal son!!
I remember back in the day people saying "Ack! Lame!" for Acclaim...
I miss the expansion mode from All Star Baseball. Closest thing now is Diamond Dynasty on The Show. I want a full expansion mode..
Legends of Wrestling was an interesting concept... I would have loved to see it be done by someone other than Acclaim..
He’s done it again. He’s only gone and done it again. Leave Royal Rumble (SNES) aloooooone pleeeeaaaase 😂😭
Yeah
I remember when it first came out and my brother and I would play it for days. Lol.
This channel can definitely go places if you have a decent upload schedule and keep up this high quality
I kinda had a soft spot for WWF games like royal rumble and raw on SNES and WWF In Your House on PS1 and WrestleMania the arcade game and legends of wrestling as some of the early NFL Quarterback Club games.
I know they weren't perfect but not all bad
Do you know how long I’ve been sitting on a copy of Jackie Chan Stuntmaster and just haven’t brought myself to play it yet. I don’t even know why 😅
Play it! Just like the Jackie Chan cartoon, It's surprising good.
I've beat it. It's actually pretty impressive for it's time. Worth a play for any Jackie Chan fan for sure.
I LOVED that game when I was a kid
Now I want to play it, I never had the chance as a kid 😂
Acclaim had Turok and Shadowman but doubled down on bad sports games when its already difficult to make a yearly simulator. They were better off publishing developers who took time on their games.
It's not like Turok was any good either
@@nightshade3782Turok 2 is a great game..
I kinda have a soft spot for BMX XXX honestly. Also fun fact the PS2 version was partially censored while the Gamecube version was not, weird to see a game be more explicit on the more family-friendly console.
Nba street would probably be the no way home.
One Acclaim game you didn't mention that I did enjoy (though it wasn't the best game in the world) was College Slam. It was fun to play. Similar to NBA Jam though so it was kinda hard to screw up
Love the video, the announcer for the lacrosse game is longtime radio DJ Scott Farrell, he of the similar raspy voice.
I loved WWF Warzone and Attitude on the N64 as a teen. I tolerated the ridiculous button combinations. It definitely did not age well. Trying to play it nowadays I have no idea how I loved them all those years ago.
About the Steve-O narrating part, it was actually Scott Ferrell from Battle Dome.
Royal rumble is one of the greatest wrestling games of all time, you can tell this dude wasnt around for em, and is trying to research the reception, big miss. Warzone also great. Qb club another all time great, i recently busted it out for the kid for its elite qb challenge miningames. My dog you gotta hit more games you were actually alive for, and not just guess that these games were poorly received.
Word up... Warzone and Attitude was the shyt until WrestleMania 2000 dropped...
Back when it first came out royal rumble was amazing. My brothers and I would play it day in and day out.
NICELY RECEIVED!! 🤣
LJN and AKKLAIM....combined..... had only a game or two that were "okay"....overall.
Wish I could sue acclaim for over a hundred hrs of wasting my time as a kid.
"Nicely Received".
😂😂
I swear NBA JAM 2002 only had these 2 lines over and over “nicely received” and “SHOOT IT MAAAAN!!!”
I thought Stephen Hawking was having a strike😂
How Rhythm and Balance was used in the controversies section was quite good.
Acclaim in a nutshell: "You have to wonder what the architect was thinking, if he was thinking at all"
You can't do that to nba jam. That's a classic
Yooo, Scott Farrell did VO work on a lacrosse game?? 😂
Jackie Chan Stuntmaster?! Boy, I'm surprised CZcams didn't strike this video for including such a brutal & horribly violent clip like that here 🤣
Thanks for explaining that nonsense with NBA Jam and Greg Lassen. I always wondered about that. Like, I _knew_ about it - I bought NBA Showtime and Hangtime because of that license/naming split thing, but I was always just confused as to why Acclaim didn't steal more IP. I just thought they had the rights to NBA Jam because they published it, and was baffled they didn't try to make their own Mortal Kombats or whatever. What gamer wouldn't have liked to see a lineup a fighting games sporting that sweet, sweet Acclaim Jank™? lol
Hearing about that Acclaim guy who went to work for the NBA then sold the license back to Acclaim makes everything make sense now.
Remember when they made the same game 4 times? (Warzone, attitude, revolution and anarchy rulz) cause i member
I discovered your channel with the Mdickie video and I've been watching since keep up the work
Won't ANYONE think of the soggy baseballs!?
The Acclaim Baseball games were very good and very underrated, I believe it was called All Star baseball and Had Derek Jeter on the cover, I spent many hours on my PS 2 trying to get my expansion team to the World Series
8:41 he sounds like jontron going monotone for a joke but it never ends
I liked the baseball game with Jeter on the cover. I think it was 2003 or 2004? There was a decent amount of cool extra stuff and game modes
Paul Heyman had to SUE Acclaim to get the money owed to them for the ECW game. Acclaim argued that it wasn’t Heyman they owed the money to, but ECWs financial partners. 🙄
ECWs partners decided to not give Heyman any of the money made off ECW, and put injunctions against him. Which according to Heyman is what REALLY killed ECW, they thought the “greedy fat Jewish guy” was going to take the remaining money from his failed business, and RUN- so they cut him off, and kept ECWs money. Heyman says It was only enough money to keep ECW going for maybe another 6 months, but it would have bought enough time to secure a new TV deal.
Attitude was my game back in 99 😂
That LaCrosse game voice was Scott Farrell. Lol. He’s Steve-o if Steve-o did a whole key before a game and cared about sports lol.
The NBA Jam titles developed by Acclaim felt like "NBA Jam but in name only" (1:51)
Derek Jeter sounds like they grabbed him off the street and forced him to read his lines off of very far away cue cards at gunpoint.
Glad I found this channel I have to binge watch older videos
The All-Star baseball series is PHENOMENAL
Legend of wrestling 2 is actually really fun. Bought it at a yard sale as a kid, really great time
nice to see you uploading again, heard you got Covid earlier this month
oh shit you serious hope hes doing better
Thank you so much man. Yeah I'm fine now, but was sidelined for a good 10 or so days.
"Forget about the weird bounces, What about the soggy baseballs?"
I loved Attitude and Warzone…..I know I’m wrong for this lol
Maybe the Olsen twins did us a favor by suing the company
Raw is war was my first wrestling game and I got so much out of it. I would love to go back and see how it holds up today.
The only thing i don't agree with is that I actually liked WWF Attitude
I tried so hard to like legends of wrestling I even went and paid for part 2 🤦🏾♂️
I think in the early 90s, Acclaim lived off of transporting arcade games to home consoles they really didn't have to do much with that
I grew up playing NFL Gameday 2000 and loved it
I remember having NBA Jam on my original XBOX, it’s fantastic to know after all of these years that I was robbed of playing the much better NBA Street Vol. 2
I also had both Legends of Wrestling games. Goodness, I was a disturbed child.
I enjoyed all of Acclaim's wrestling games back in the day for what they were. But they certainly haven't aged well. Royal Rumble and Raw were a lot of fun and they are still decent for a couple of minutes nowadays, but when you play Super Fire Pro Wrestling X on the SNES you start to realise what was possible on that console.
Likewise, I had good times with Warzone and Attitude but the more arcadey SmackDown! games have aged better. Obviously, the Mortal-Kombat-like controls were a questionable choice even back then, but what haunted ALL the Acclaim wrestling games (including Legends Of Wrestling 1-3) was the absolute lack of impact when it came to the moves. Just look at a Big Splash in No Mercy. You can almost feel the oomph when the bodies connect. In Acclaim games the wrestlers just kind of float into each other without much selling. Also, the robotic and repetitive movements. Wrestlers constantly doing the same taunt over and over was kind of an Acclaim staple.
As for the Legends Of Wrestling games, it seemed like they didn't even care about them. It was like they wanted to make a modern wrestling game, but were stuck with old, retired wrestlers they had no knowledge of. The move sets were absolutely hideous, almost to the point of insulting. Who cares about arm drags and hip tosses. Pedigrees and Stunners for everyone!
When they first came out they were awesome, phenomenal but like you said they didn’t age well. A lot of old school gamers that played them when they first came out before all the 3D games would agree. I don’t think a lot of these people played these games in their prime and glory or wasn’t gamers back then.
The wwf attitude/warzone (never played the ecw nor other wrestling games that they made) slander will not be tolerated... but the rest of those games were utter gar-bah-hae
Nicely received
ASB games were the best baseball games on the N64.
That’s the best I can say about them
That territory mode in Legends Of Wrestling 3 was a guilty pleasure of mine back in the day. Just fun enough grind to work my way across america eating turnbuckles and taking names.
I never played any Acclaim Sports titles and didn't even know a lot of these games existed until now, but I did play XGRA, an Acclaim title part of the Extreme-G series. I thought XGRA was a really fun futuristic racing game for what it's worth.
Im pretty certain that the announcer for the lacross game was a sports radio personality that went by the name Ferrell.
He sounds pretty distinct
Only know him cuz of O & A vids on yt lol
Ok ok let me just say this, I won't accept any NFL QB club slander
One thing I did miss was how ASB added closing and opening new stadiums and every team who had a mascot you would see it active and even in the 05 real stances and real pitching from the stretch I really wish it got remastered or continued but I know everyone wasn’t a fan good times
I played the fuck out if all star baseball on PS2. Before ea mvp, it was the best baseball. As you said real stances and hitting home runs in that game was so satisfying.
Damn.... I miss Midway
There are only four others that could be considered worse.
LJN, Tiger, “Wisdom Tree”/Color Dreams, and Stellar Stone.
Bro can u also make vedio on thq ?
Ea has ruined every sport franchise. Apart from nba2k which has ruined basketball games. Ea destroyed football (soccer) the biggest sport in the world dominated by absolute garbage games
I grew up with WWF Attitude and I can confirm it was so hard to play! The laughs from how awkward it was made it half worth it. Just the voiceovers alone were hilarious😂. WWF popularity was at its apex at that time so we tolerated it. Smackdown franchise took it to a wayyy better level tho.
I'll never forgive them for their ECW Wrestling games. WWF Warzone reskins, released during the era of Smackdown & No Mercy. Unforgivable.
The Steve-O soundalike sounds like Scott Ferrall that I used to hear on fox sports radio.
Michael Vick Dog Fight 08🤣🤣 so childish yet funny
Okay for the 90’s era I loved the wwf games & yeah I loved also the legends of wrestling games 1 & 2 because for the time & yes I had world tour & no mercy all those games to me are classics
Acclaim jank is a perfect way to put it . All of the games felt like guys had a load in their pants. It sucked when i was a kid and didnt know about publishers and took one of these games home from a rental store. They are the worst.
ASB 99 was one of the most frustrating games ever. Wanted to like it but every create a player would bat .175 no matter the stats so it made building a franchise futile.
Acclaim jank applies perfectly to their Legends of Wrestling franchise. I’ve played bad wrestling games but those have got to be some of the clunkiest games I’ve ever played. The movement is so awkward and the moves themselves are worse.
Dave Mirra 2 was one of my favorites as a kid (hey...you referenced this). As you stated, it is one of the better games of the bunch.
Could someone tell me any other companies besides ea and 2k that are better and make sports games primarily Ik they have a giant hold on the sports game market so that could explain why I haven’t heard of any other companies but if 2k and ea are that bad there’s gotta be another company doing something good
Legends of Wrestling 2 was by far my favorite wrestling game as a kid, considering how objectively bad it was I had so much fun with it.
We all see what happened, right? Acclaim Sports fell flat on their faces as the gaming landscape shifted from 2D to 3D. That “Acclaim jank” would be far less of an issue with 2D pixelated sprites, but because they insisted on developing the 3D NBA Jam games in-house instead of remaining as just the publisher, they stumbled hard into the sixth generation of consoles and had to resort to nonsense marketing gimmicks to make a comeback.
I remember being younger and see acclaim on the box and automatically knew it was going to be trash
Bro you could not have convinced me in 1998-1999 that WWF Warzone and Attitude were bad games. Somehow I played the WCW N64 games and still thought the WWF titles were good, better even! I was a fucking moron lmao
Attitude was pretty decent for the time...
The A's joke still hits hard in 2024, haha. ASB05 on GBA was actually one of my favourites, was best baseball on the GBA in my books. Otherwise this video is 100% accurate.
War zone was not bad. For 1998 that game was so fun. I enjoyed both war zone and Attitude. What stinks is No mercy, Revenge and Wrestlemania 2000 were so good so it makes the others bad
This video had earned you one crispy clean sub
Royal rumble was a classic
Acclaim was the company that bought and owned another infamous video game company; LJN. They were also the company that sold their soul to the Devil for the license to produce Simpsons video games, thus preventing Konami from being able to give The Simpsons Arcade game proper 16-bit releases on the SNES and Sega Genesis. Acclaim's Simpsons games were mediocre at best and hot garbage at worst. Acclaim had failed to evolve as a video game company and continued to make low-quality video games, which inevitably led to them going bankrupt in 2004.
My only complaint about NBA Jam Extreme was the load times.....jeez!
QB challenge was awsome, right up there with Tekken bowling as best minigames.
Acclaim had their moment. Very respectable tbh.
That lacrosse game sounds like it's narrated by Bubba the Love Sponge.
I kinda like all star baseball
YOOOOOOO MORE GAMEDAY HELL YEAH
NBA Jam 2k2 for Gameboy Advanced:
"Where did you learn to nicely receive?"
I played so much of ECW Anarchy Rulz haha. Good times!
Wait Them wrestlin games were my shit back in the day you buggin
Royal rumble and raw were decent back in the day on release
I love the PSX Acclaim wrestling games bruh 😂
First ones to have all of the wrestlerss with their actual themes in CD quality iirc.
Their should be a HBO Boxing 2 on the PS2. Its by the same studio that made the Monkey Prototype on Gamecube that surfaced a while ago.
