The Boat (E2 S1) - The Lower Unit Disassembly
Howdy!
Now that our lower unit has been removed from the 1978 Evinrude 85 hp, we can begin the disassembly! Old parts, rust, and grease throughout the lower unit, Bro Trevor and Nathanael eagerly disassemble the lower unit. We thankfully downloaded the parts schematic before beginning this project.
6 Assemblies were removed from the lower unit:
- The Water Pump
- The Water Strainer
- The Shift Rod
- The Shift Rod Housing
- The Driveshaft Bearing Carrier
- The Prop Bearing Carrier
