- this is a little guide or how to i made that shows you how to start and engine, or trouble shoot it for y iy is not starting. this guide talks about main if not all the reasons y it is not starting. this guide is mostly for a quad, but will also work on a dirt bike and also any other engine out there including 4 strokes. with some exceptions.

My blaster did the same thing, adjust the pushrod where your clutch is and make sure the clutch actuator is alligned up with the marking
my 2006 blaster I have the b1 exhaust and Toomey silencer and stage two boyssen reeds and it's jetted to 380 I'm upgrading to a racing piston stock bore would I have to do anything to make it run nice or should it run good already

What type of oil do you use on the gears?
Yes! If u dident reject the carb for the no filter, it is more then likely that it was running lean, the engine over heated, and now has no compression which is causing really hard starts. U need to put a new filter on and a new top end.
I have a blaster cleaned the carb put new reeds in and fixed gears and clutch only starts with starting fluid then dies if u don't mess with choke plz help want to ride so bad
check all the wires that go to the CDI under the hood. unplug all of them and plug them all back in. the CDI is the black box under the hood. looks like te tors one, but bigger.
check the float..... inside the carb, that big plastic thing, u need to adjust that metal peice on it. try pintching it close a little, not too much, or gas will pour out the carb
How much to stroke oil do I put in the back of my quad
When I'm done riding I shut the fuel valve off on my Raptor 250 and let it run out of fuel in the carburetor so it doesn't gum the jets up.
I have a blaster not sure what year and its not getting fire it's not the tors and I don't know what's wrong with it
anywhere from 130-200 if u do the work your self, and depending on the parts u use. if someone else does it, 300 or so.
This is a little off the subject but, I’m hoping some of you folks can give me some advice. I’ve got a 2015 raptor 700R fuel injected atv. It set with over 1/2 tank of fuel for a year and a half. I’ve changed the oil, filter, and charged the battery. I also drained the old fuel. It was stored in a garage, not outdoors. Would adding a little sea foam to the new fuel work? Is it even necessary? I have been trying to read about how to best go about getting it up and running without causing damage. It’s only set for 1.5 years. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Are you sure pilot jets can get clogged up even though it's an air jet?
I have a 1992 I was getting spark before my bike blew up then I put a tors eliminator kit carb on so I got rid of the box on top of the carb and I took the brain off spliced the 2 wires still no spark then I unspliced the wires still no spark it was my dads quad he eliminated the kill switch so the kill switch or key never worked but I was getting spark at the time and everything was good until it blew I rebult it yesterday but I'm not getting spark any ideas greatly appreciated
I was riding my quad after it sat for about 2-3 months. After about 30 minutes of riding, I went to turn after slowing down and it stopped running all of a sudden. What could it be?

Hi man I picked up older blaster 200 and was working the guy told me tho the carb need clean, got home drove the kids around then I shot it of and got back on and didn’t start. I think it’s the key but I have no spark either

Ok thanks for the advice, I gave up as the engine and carb started leaking fuel from somewhere I dunno so I gave it to a local mechanic who installed a new fuel filter, new fuel lines and some other stuff, now as you gave me good advice before maybe you could give me some now ? :D So the engine runs pretty much perfect now, but will only start with jump start (batteries shot). The kick start seems to not want to start the engine, I kick it for ages but only starts on a rare occasion. Why? Thanks
hi mate, i have a problem with starting my quad, it has a 125cc 4 stroke engine, I have took the carb of and cleaned the jets, bowl and dismantled the whole thing so its sparkling clean. I put it back on and it will start for about 10-15 seconds and then just lose power and cut out, and will not start again until you leave it for another 1 hour or so, I really dont know why its doing this. Also the quad is battery start and kick start, but I am using the kick start as the battery is shot. Thanks
i have a 2002 yamaha blaster i went and got a new crab but i can start it but i put it in gear and it dies and wont start back
Mine starts and runs but turns off then I push start it and it runs again but if I let it get to low gear or not pushing gas it turns off quick and I got a new carburetor but it's been sitting for like 2 years the quad

My quad was running for probably an hour riding trail then it died and let it sit for 5-10 minutes started right back up and died again after 5 minutes then had to tow back to house with another quad then it started again for 5 minutes and died and had to tow it again. Any idea what it is

I just rebult my quad and I'm not getting spark I'm getting gas and everything I took off the box that connects to the carb and put a normal carb on there's no spark help

ok my 6 speed yamaha blaster ran fine yesterday and started fine now today it won't start can I spray carb fluid or starter fluid anywhere to get it to crank?

Hey i have a question i have a 95 blaster and it has a top end rebuild on it and when i go to kick it it wont start i cleaned out the carb and it still wont start do you know why?

sounds like it has low compression. new top end rebuild i see comming your way.
check the compression with a compression tester, check the airfilter, check the spark plug,
Hi I have an 1986 Isuzu lt230. I clean the carburetor because for being sitting too long was pulling the fuel out of the carburetor thru the vent but now cranks but wont start, seems like no fuel is passing thru.. any ideas?

I was getting ready to ride in trails and my quad was idling fine for 8 minutes, then I went down two blocks and my quad was in third gear and I was going pretty fast, then it just bogged down and stalled on me. We brought it back home and now the carb keeps getting flooded. I have no clue what it could be. I would appreciate help. Thank you.

I have a 250 blaster and recently i was rideing it and it shut off it starts and runs for about half a mile and shuts off ANY IDEAS ON WHAT CAN HELP???

if and when u take it appart, take a looka t ur cylinder and piston. if there are no big scratches or anything like that, u might just be able to get away with new gaskets, hone, and rings. probs 30-75$ if u do the work.

Did you cover the exhaust whole when you power washed it? If not water probably got in the engine which is not good.
Hello...i have 125cc Chinese quad and it gas filter was broken so we changed it
We placed a normal motorcycle gas filter on it it’s kinda bigger than its own
When i try to start it it took almost 40to50 seconds to start the engine
And i have to push the gass till it be all ON
The problem is when i live it for hours or maybe a day it’s the same
I wanna know the problem is for carburetor or for gas filter
Do i gave to clean the carburetor or change the gas filter???

sounds like your clutch is bad or needs to be adjusted
on my carb I've turned that big screw on the side the whole way in, how many turns out do I turn it for proper tuning??
Airion Baumgartner start at 1.5 out and find where it idles the highest, then turn it a little more towards the rich side. if you have to screw out more than 3 turns you need to bump the jet up a size. it takes a lot of fiddling, but if you need help take it to a shop, they will do it for cheap and maybe even showyou how

one tip when im done riding i turn the gas off and let the carb run out of gas.
So bought a 99 blaster needed top end got that done the tors system was already removed? I believe correctly it was reving sky high found a crack in the bottom of the case got that fix then new oil , put new gas and plug fired up did the break in. went to do my my first ride wont f**king start i cant afford to put in shop please help!!

May have bent or kinked the throttle cable or assembly if it took any knocks or hits to the bars

fuckvegan first off there's only 1 piston and just because ur piston is bad doesn't mean u have a bad engine it just means u need a top end rebuild lol don't try to help someone if u don't know wat ur talking about

@@carloscosio1613 like he said, take the spark plug out and kick it through several times seven or eight times that'll blow all the gas missed out of the carburetor through the spark plug hole I need to clean up the spark plug Bernadette gas off of it whatever you got to do me to clean don't tap it on the electrode cuz you'll change the Gap... Then reinstall spark plug & put the plug wire back on it. Start the engine

that's called a TORS. so im assuming you have an 04 model or younger. which means you have to splice 2 wires together to get spark back. I don not remember which ones.
