Somehow this is so comforting to hear - it is like a minor revelation - other people are having a similar experience. So often, I feel alone with my discomfort and so sorry that it has become a burden for my family. So nice that you shared this.

When my first baby was born I started having panic attacks and OCD out of what seemed like nowhere when she turned 3 months old. I would have obsessive thoughts about my daughter getting hurt and me hurting her. Looking back I now know it was because we lived with my mother in law at the time and she was always putting me down as a mom and shaming me for descions I made. It was a HUGE stressor for me.
I tried literally everything I could think of to get rid of the anxiety I was feeling. It felt like my daily mission, today I will find the answer and I never did.
Well I had another baby and when he was almost 2 I went into what I call an episode. It was the most surreal and scary experience of my life. My anxiety was at a 10 all the time. I was paranoid. I couldn't eat because it sent me into a panic attack. I couldn't sleep. I would always jump awake. My eyes felt like I had a filter on them. The world looked so different. This was ALL the time. I can't tell you how scary it is not to be able to escape your own mind when it's in that state. It was pure hell.
I went to stay with my mom for a little while because I was afraid to be alone and my husband couldn't take work off when to be with me. She took me to a walk in clinic so I could go to inpatient care. They basically told me that I had high anxiety, that they couldn't take me and good luck. I tried calling Dr's and therapists and they all had a waiting list of at least a month to see them.
I don't even remember how I found anxiety centre, but I did. I signed up and started reading. It made so much sense, but would it really work? I started deep breathing, doing deep relaxation and meditating everyday. I took hot baths and did breathing and relaxation in there. Did some yoga for anxiety. I was lucky enough to be a stay at home mom so I was able to watch something mindless all day and keep my body relaxed.
It all started to pay off. I noticed the anxiety decreasing and eventually going away. It took about a month.
If it wasn't for anxiety centre I don't even know if I'd be here. What other alternative do you have when you're stuck in a state like that, you feel like there's no way out and no one will help you?

when I’m anxious, I get thoughts like “omg I’m crazy” “I’m going crazy” “what if I end up in a mental hospital “ and sometimes when I’m not anxious. Anxiety makes me feel like I’m crazy. Is that a thing ?

This woman is, sadly, unaware of her anxiety. Her language indicates major internalized anxiety. She'll define the covid pandemic and "absolutely horrifying" yet she'll say she wasn't concerned. Denial is one thing, and self-assessment is another. I hope she can, from now on, do some real assessment of her fears and anxieties. The way she talks is very clear that she is deeply anxious. Once she can accept that she has fears, she'll be able to address them.
