    As they say, it is one thing to buy it and another to keep it. The 570s Spider is a phenomenal car. The total cost of ownership is high, so if you do not have an extended warranty on that rocket, go to McLaren, get the car certified, and pay the $4,000 per year. One major part replacement can cost you 6 times that amount. The 570s has a 30% modified P1 engine. The car delivers 625 hp to the crank and 533 hp to the wheels. McLaren grossly understates the hp. The car will run a 2.7 on standard P Zeros, runs the quarter in 10.1, and achieved a terminal velocity of 207 mph in around 50. Congrats and safe driving! BTW: A nicely equipped 2020 HDK (High Downforce Kit--MSO Carbon Fiber Wing and Front Undercarriage Guide Vanes) 570s Spider with PPF and Ceramic--$270,000.

      Yes you're absolutely right! Being a 2018, it has factory 3-year warranty until 2021, and I have paid around $3000 to extend it another year, but so far I've had zero major issues, just the small stuff I've mentioned in the video

    Loved your video.
    Tour story reminds me so much of my own buying my TTRS.
    It took me almost a year to find a good deal. I had car search engines as my homescreen.
    I found a deal around 5am too.
    7am I was blowing up their phone.
    2pm I had my base TT sold.
    7pm in the airport.
    2am I was across the country sleeping againt a plastic bag waiting for the salesperson to pick me up.
    8am I was signing the paperwork.
    And 3pm I'm leaving the dealership with my dream car.
    Eat food, and 8pm I started my 3.5 days roadtrip all the way back.
    It was the biggest adventure of my life, and I your story reminds me of that. I feel the passion.
    Congratz bro.
    Let that 570s give you smiles for many, many year. 😃

    I rented a black 2019 570S Spider for 24 hours through Turo. Overall, I loved the car but after 20 minutes on the highway, my lower back was killing me. Granted I am a lot older than you but I have also rented a 202 Porsche 911 4S Cabriolet and some other high end cars, including the BMW i8 and Jaguar F-Sport and none had a driver's seat that was this painful. Maybe some have optional seats that are better in this regard.
    The only potential quality issue I noticed was a knocking noise coming from behind the passenger seat. I looked around but couldn't find its source.

    • @Richardlizhu
      @Richardlizhu  Před 2 lety

      Of course! Depends on what you are looking for really, if "efficient" here means reducing the amount of effort from your side, then you could just list it on consignment with a local dealer. That's what I did with my BMW i8, I just gave it to them and a couple of weeks later it was sold, didn't need to do anything on my part. However, generally there's going to be a negative correlation between how much effort you put and the price you get. If you want to get a higher price, I would advise taking good photos (maybe even pay someone), and then list it as many places as you can to get as many eyes on it as you can. Best of luck, and let me know if you have more questions!

    • @Richardlizhu
      @Richardlizhu  Před 2 lety

      This is definitely a take that I've seen before, and one that I kind of ended up taking, as I bought a BMW i8 first, then bought the McLaren. However, the opposite side of this argument is that every time you buy and sell a car, you will lose a bit of value, in my state (California), it's almost 10% just from sales tax, so that's also something to keep in mind. If I had just waited and saved to buy the McLaren, I maybe would have saved like $20k total? But obviously I wouldn't have had an i8 to drive for 2 years

      @Richardlizhu  Před 3 lety

      I personally think it’s the 570s spider (which is why I bought one). I think it’s at a good intersection of value and performance. You can tune it to get more power than a 720s, and you get all the cachet of the name brand of McLaren. It’s relatively cheap, but new enough that McLaren was able to work out a lot of the reliability issues that plague earlier models like the 12c and 650s

    • @Richardlizhu
      @Richardlizhu  Před 3 lety +2

      Both are great choices and I was deciding between this as well! Ended up choosing the 570s spider even though it's more expensive and has less power because it's newer, so it has better tech, and has better reliability. A lot of the McLaren reliability issues don't really happen with the 570s spider, my car is now at 44k miles and I haven't had a single issue. In a couple of years as well I think the 570s spider will also be around the same price as the 650s spider. If I have any issues I'll definitely share them on this channel!

      @@Richardlizhu I heard that it's not easy to buy a brand new Mclaren 570s in America because the vast majority of them on the market are previous-owned one. I'm not American, and is that true?

      @@Richardlizhu There're some new 570s, I heard there's two in Mclaren SF. But they're produced in 2018 or 2019, but they're not previous-owned, and their prices are similar to previous-owned ones.

      @@user-mv6cl5yn4v Ah yes you're completely right, I thought you meant you wanted to spec a brand new one from the factory. I'm checking the McLaren SF website now, and I see that there are 2 new 570s GT4s. Those are not legal for road use, and can only be driven on the track, which is why their pricing is so low
