Eurovision 1962 - Sweden

Inger Berggren performing "Sol och Vår" ("Sun and Spring"), the Swedish entry at the 1962 Eurovision Song Contest.
After four old-fashioned ballads in a row (Belgium, Spain, Austria and Denmark), people must have been relieved to hear something more upbeat - and, without being among that year's or Sweden's best, this is a fun, chirpy tune with winking lyrics and a relaxed performance by Inger (though she could have done without those "pa-ra-ra"'s in the bridge). Overall, a song that I personally like.

I must really thank you tasosk for putting this video in such a great quality, since it's my favorite from '62 and absolutely underrated one- it always moves me a lot! I can't understand why juries didn't love it.

You're right, she could have done without all those "pa-ra-pa-pas", but one of the better songs of the year. Interesting thing about 62 was that all the good/better songs were in 2 distinct styles: either the cuty/chirpy umtempo type - this Ger, Fin, Neth or hypnotic enchanting jazzy ballads Fra, Nor. Yugo.

I watched the 1962 contest and I thought it was quite dreary. I'm glad there were songs like this to lighten up the atmosphere
