    So when I saw you lifting, did you start with the dumbbells at the top and then you inhaled when lowering and exhaled when lifting? And finally you put them down?

  • @denniperez8028
    @denniperez8028 Před 4 měsíci

    Do you always put the weights on top when lifting and then you start breathing after they are on top of you by inhaling when lowering and for the last rep you just put the dumbbells down breathing normally?

    Great video Brett. I had a question. What is the device you have on your forearm to track your number of pitches? Also the app you use. Thanks

    • @BrettGraves05
      @BrettGraves05  Před 10 měsíci

      Thank you. It’s called Pulse. It’s a workload monitor and the app I believe is called “Pulse Throw” on the App Store.
      Our coaches use it to build throwing programs at Premier Pitching and Performance. You can look at the training services available at Premierpitching.com

    I have a question, why do you do TRX row instead of barbell or dumbbell row after the cable row?

    • @BrettGraves05
      @BrettGraves05  Před 6 měsíci

      No particular reason. You could interchange those exercises based off of personal preference.

    Are the amount of plyo throws in the vid the actual amount u threw?

    • @BrettGraves05
      @BrettGraves05  Před 3 měsíci

      No, typically it ranged from 20-30 depending on the day. All the drills were pictured, but not the total amount of throws.
      The number of plyos should fit inside your recommended throw count for the entire day and should supplement the throws you make with a baseball.

    My son is in HS and we are just trying to stay ready, what videos do you suggest for us to watch from your collection? Also how often can he lift weights?

    • @BrettGraves05
      @BrettGraves05  Před rokem +5

      I have a recent video showing what I’ve done to continue to work while not throwing. Now is the time of year to be most aggressive in the weight room. As throwing volume is low, strength workout volume can be higher.
      Take proper precautions with form and age appropriate workouts. When I was his age, this time of year, I would lift weights 4 days a week. 2 upper lifts, 2 lower lifts.
      As you get into more throwing be sure the throwing lines up with appropriate lifting days. Best of luck

      Sorry that I just wanted to mention something in here, but when I was in Dominican Republic trying to increase my velocity they make me all the things he did on the video to keep my arm healthy but what really help me throw harder was fixing my mechanics. The key for that is try to long toss not go super far but try to do the mechanics long tossing I went from 74 to 88 avg. best luck man

    Brett best way to get rid of forearm tightness?

    • @BrettGraves05
      @BrettGraves05  Před rokem +3

      Hard to say without knowing what caused the fatigue…. In general, remove anything that causes pain and limit the amount of exercises that involve gripping weights or making throws. If it persists seek a professional opinion.
      As always, proper warm ups, cools downs and appropriate volume in programming are huge as well.
