Small watches look way better on a large wrists than large watches look on small wrists. I think brands need to consider smaller cases more. That 34mm-40mm range really needs some more love.
My first mechanical watch was a Seiko SNK807K2, 37mm. I like how it looks on my 6,5(165mm) wrist better than any other 40/41mm watches I have.
@@ZeroneRaven Mine was a junghans max bill 34mm. It has virtually no bezel so the dial real estate is actually closer to most 40mm watches. It's a relatively small watch that appears much larger than it actually is.
Also, there are more men in the world with smaller wrists suitable for 35-38mm
because large wrist ( above 7 inch ) mean you having a foreams of a man look . small wrist always look girly no matter how small and big watches sit on them .
@@nguyenuchuy8807
Not really.. big wrist surrounded by fats does not look manly while small wrist on a muscular tough forearm looks manly..
Even as a bigger guy I am just so happy to see these classic sized watches making a comeback! 35-40mm watches look great on just about everyone and when done right they're just so charming. Hell, I have a 36mm piece sitting on my 7.75 inch wrist right now, and if I can pull that off, so can you! Now we just need Tissot to release a powermatic 80 version and I'll have an excuse to buy another watch
I too am enjoying the small watch renaissance and hopefully it has more staying power than the oversized watch craze
Have they improved the alignment issues?
@@davidcrandall4958 the same movement is used so the best bet is send it to watchmaker to realign the second hand as much possible because it won't hit the indices 100% all the time.
@@davidcrandall4958 from what I've read about quartz movements not lining up properly; it's a real challenge to ensure for every production piece and the cost/benefit ratio doesn't make sense in the price point most companies are targeting for their quartz lineups. So I think it's a problem that won't be fixed in this price range anytime soon.
What is the max bracelet length though? Will it fit a 7.75 inch wrist out of the box?
Three things i like about Tissot regarding what they did with the PRX series: they reissued a relatively vintage style, noticed the success and expanded the options; they didn't ignore quartz powered choices, which is always great to generally reduce prices in and to attract some non-watch folks that do not care to get along with mechanics; and the sizes are entirely acceptable for a wide public.
Just bought it yesterday. Silver dial. Absolutely beautiful watch. Couldn’t be happier. Love it.
Excellent video as always Teddy - thank you for always putting in the effort to turn out a quality production
Dude, I picked this up a week ago and it hasn’t left my wrist since! This wears so nice and comfortable on my 6.4 inch wrist. Was worried about the misalignment of the second hand, but luckily that’s not the case!
Went to try this watch on my 6.5 (16,5cm) wrist and in my opinion this is the perfect fit for me. Wears much larger than the specs suggest I think. Wish the "normal" dial colors where availabe in this smaller case variant!
Had the 35mm green dial now for 6 months and have worn it every single day I absolutely love it. Comes everywhere with me, work, holiday literally wear it all the time
@dream honestly I find it pairs with most things I wear. I love the watch so I wear it everyday with every outfit. Looks great with a suit but also with casual clothes
My husband gave me this model in light blue for my birthday and I can't be happier because I love the seventies inspired look.
Finally, I've been waiting for your video for this watch. So long I already bought mine, but no regret at all
Tissot, please give us a 35mm PRX Powermatic 80 asap!!! 🙏
Yes. And give the raised honeycomb motif a miss.
Such a shame its limited to only the fluted design version 😢
There is, nobody is talking about it, but I found two from certified dealers. Blue and green.
It doesn’t show in the website, which is weird
@@ofirshachamorov5979 what you're talking about is most likely the 35mm quartz PRX with the smooth dial, right?
As of now the only automatic 35mm PRX is the one with diamonds on the dial.
As someone with a below averaged sizes wrist, anything between 35-40 is greatly appreciated! Maybe I’ll have a metal bracelet that won’t look so clunky!
Teddy your macro shots are legendary, great job mate
I love your content
It just helped me to choose my own prx 35mm in light blue colour✌🏻
As always, beautiful video! And I am super excited to try this watch on.
I truly hope that whatever biases against quartz are out there are gradually on the way out, thanks to high quality uses of the movements like this. Quartz enables much smaller size and wearability for the narrow-wristed of us (like me), and at a significant price savings. One area that I will always take quartz over mechanical is in modern chronographs; there's almost no way I'd be able to get a reasonably priced chronograph that's thin and fits my wrist with a mechanical movement inside other than vintage.
Teddy thank you so much for this reveiw! I have the original Tissot 1978 Seastar and the setting method is very complicated! I am going to get this one soon! Thanks again!
Tried both at a retailer and the 35mm is so much more wearable and proportionate on the wrist as compared to the 40mm. Bought one for my dad's birthday and will consider getting one myself if a mechanical variant is released!
Love how they are bringing out a leather strap that is backwards compatible ! Also quick release ! Great bang for buck watches !
I’d be more likely to purchase this than the 40mm version, glad to see it.
One of these is on my to-get list as soon as initial demand is satisfied and a discount is available.
Need to get this! I was initially a bit against quartz watches but warmed up to it when i got a g shock, and fully accept quartz as an option now that i’ve worn my girl’s 36mm quartz seastar. I have some great mechanical watches, but don’t mind a utilitarian quartz piece if the case and dial are so nice. The green prx 35 seems like the prx for me. Really wanted a prx when it was only in 40 but thought it would look too big on me. Great move on tissot’s part
Both blues and the green colors look so good! A mechanical version, while too pricey for my budget would be very cool to see!
I can’t decide which color I want but I know this will be my next pick up. Smaller cases look so classy.
been waiting for this. hell yeah 👌
This light blue seems to be unique for the 35mm PRX Quartz family! *gorgeous* 😍
Another great video Teddy,I already grabbed Green one 35mm amazing
Bought myself the 35mm PRX with the green dial, one of the first ones delivered in germany, its stunning und works perfectly with my 16.5-wrist! go for it!
getting green too 😁
Thanks Teddy! Well it looks like this is my new watch when the auto is released! ......About time that watchmakers realise that not everyone wants a dinner plate on their arms ! Especially those of us with average sized wrists and who appreciate style.
Nice work Tissot and I look forward to owning one of these classics in the near future.
Gregg.
The size and color variety gives these a versatility.
This is 1 of my top 3 watch information channels. ❤
Great move from Tissot here offering a reduced version of the PRX, and in such wide range of dial colors 👍
Perfect for my wife's wrist. It's a good his and hers model. Thanks Tissot!
Great watch. I’m definitely placing an order
I've been waiting for this day since the PRX line was first announced way back when and I realized it'd be too big for my small wrists. I will most definitely be picking one up from you guys. Now time to agonize over which color to buy... ,😅
what are you planning for? personally i like the light blue colour but it’s actually way too girly irl😂. i think i’ll go for the classic green or blue
@@lalruatdika2052 I ordered the silver with rose gold hands and indices. I like the blue on the 40mm but the 35mm blue is a tad too vibrant for me. My other reason for choosing the silver dial is because of the date window. Because the date window isn't framed like in the powermatic 80 version, I just feel like the white of the date wheel blends better with the silver dial. A vibrant dial color paired with an unframed date window just rubs me the wrong way personally haha 😂
I have just over 7” wrist and my daily is a BB36. Just bought this in light blue as a fun alternative. Once you get used to mid century proportions, it’s hard to go back to 40+ they just look a little crass. Not that here’s anything wrong with that, it’s a mood, but for classy styling, 36mm is where it’s at IMO. Can’t wait to wear this one!
I’m so happy Tissot came out with the smaller size. IMO these retro styles look better in a smaller size.
Great size for slim wrists, thank you Tissot
About time!
I have a 6 inch wrist so that's a great fit for me. Wish to see more 35-38 mm watches in general.
If they did a no-date variant of this with a black dial I'd get one in a heartbeat
that light blue is the perfect watch for me. i wish i could own one someday.
I have a 6.75 inch wrist and I am visually impaired. Hence, most of my watches are on the large side, 45.5mm Omega PO being the largest. The PRX has interested me for a long time, I must give this a look in both sizes, I'm not a Quartz snob, 7 out of my 8 watches are quartz out of convenience. I'm also tempted by the Longine Conquest, shame the 39mm is only available in Auto. Brilliant videos as usual.
I'd love to see a side-by-side comparison between the 35mm and the 40 mm.
I may make that happen on my channel in the coming weeks thanks for the idea
I wish this had the same precidrive movement that the new seastar 36mm has. Hey teddy, can you do a video on the 36mm seastar?
The green is stunning.
Patiently waiting for a p80 version of this and the 36mm seastar, that one is sharp in white.
You and me both. Have they said that was going to happen?
@@turnbasedtoddy7664 nothing official yet
@@turnbasedtoddy7664 they will definitely do it...just a slower roll out...all part of their marketing strategy..... most likely by the end of this year we will have some idea about the 35 mm automatic prx....
don't know what color to choose, blue is my go to but that green is looking damn good
Would've really been nice to see both side by side on and off the wrist. I'm a thin guy 6' 150lbs with 6.75 wrist and this will be my first watch purchase. Thank you Teddy.
I picked up the PRX 35mm in gold and its absolutely winning wrist time over my Omega 300m Diver which I have worn religiously for 3 yrs since I bought it. This watch has perfect design and proportions and it feels way more expensive than it actually is...this is a brilliant release
Been waiting so long on this one. Seems they had to delay the launch but so excited to see it available now. Will definitely be picking one up
Patiently waiting for the automatic version. I’m sure it will sell out fast when it’s released. 😏
any idea if it will be released?
@@ssskincare I have no clue. Hopefully it’s released before the year is up. 🤞🏾🤞🏾
Yes! Same!
As a fan of small wristwatches, I dig this. Great move Tissot.
Amazing quartz offering by tissot. Will def grab one in the near future. Having a quality quartz watch in my collection is such a realiable and practical way to own a watch. Im more of an automatic guy and appreciate its intricacy, but having a few trusty quartz is always good. Never understand the quartz snobbery.
Literally Tissot's website doesn't even have this yet. Good job Teddy!
your local ad should, mine already has this under retail
OH SHIT THEY MADE IT. Im gonna need this in green waffle
That baby blue pops!
I'd like to see them as soon as possible at my AD, in particular the green dial and the gold version.
I own couple of dress style vintage Omega which provides great vintage wearing experience. But I needed a watch with more of a sporty look that I could wear daily without constant fear of damaging it. Tissot PRX 35mm fits the bill perfectly. A true to spec piece with uber cool 70's vibe at an affordable price. For those who are used to wearing modern size watches, it will take some time to adjust your mind to smaller proportions. In the end, it's a matter of perspective. I for one feel I couldn't go back to wearing modern >38 mm diameter watches.
Will 1000% be picking up an automatic of these. I wonder will they do the waffle dials again like the 40mm. I saw the turquoise and light blue 35mm quartz in the shop and they’re gorgeous. The strap is unreal. Love this watch. Well done Tissot
If a Powermatic 80 version happens, it will be an instant buy from me. Preferably with a blue waffle dial. I just hate the way Tissot is releasing these...like releasing a 40mm quartz, then having to wait a year for an automatic, then having to wait another years for a 35mm quartz, etc. I hate it, but I certainly understand it as a brand strategy. I never bought one up until this point (I have tried the 40mm and it just didn't work on my 17.5cm wrist - in my opinion), but my interest is still going strong after all this time. And here I am checking videos out and wanting a 35mm auto. So I'd say it is working.
Given an apposite budget I wouldn’t mind owning _both_ a quartz designated as a ‘daily beater’, as well as a Powermatic version.
@@fletcherhamilton3177 I guess that's what Tissot wants, with the way they are releasing them - to impinge the quartz to the people that in reality wanted the auto but simply can't wait. Gives them extra money and keeps the interesting going for longer. But no, not for me. I have no interest in getting two "equal" watches. Nor to resale the quartz and loose money on it. An automatic can be easily worn everyday, at least with my lifestyle - and I prefer it. Nothing against quartz, I own several. But if given a choice and a watch exists with both, I prefer the auto. I have plenty of watches and at this point I only buy what I really want, even if that means having to wait and not enjoy a watch for a few years. At least I know that when I get the one I want, I'll be happy with it and it will be a new experience.
@@tiagodvt - I see your point, but I’d be fine with a quartz piece if only for the low maintenance and high accuracy it would afford me. But it’s only very recently I’ve come around to accepting the ‘quality’ of quartz watches, so I totally see it your way too.
@@fletcherhamilton3177 oh quartz has various advantages over automatic/mechanical, no doubt. I have nothing against them - I own several.
I mean..we can even argue automatic watches make no sense..one has to be crazy to own a mechanical less accurate piece, right? And even pay more for it..or having to spend even more on the "maintenance".
It's one of those "romantic" things. watches aren't even necessary nowadays. I guess if it brings us some joy, that's what matters in this world.
@@tiagodvt - I can’t disagree with anything you just said . . . except that watches don’t constitute a necessity . . . I’d posit that they _do_ still do so, ‘cos I’m terms of fashion they still look good, they’re still useful and they do tend to break up an otherwise symmetrical look. I’d even go so far as to say that they can both augment the feminine for a woman and the masculine for a man, but even just on a practical level they afford the wearer a bit of a professional mien about his or herself.
In terms of automatic . . . I suspect that a strong case could be made that a hella decent mechanical watching starting at / around the $1,000 mark - definitely within the arena of $2,000 - is going to be of sufficient accuracy that it’s really ‘pointless’ to put any more money down on something in the range of $10,000 like a Rolex or a Patek. But I also understand that you’re not only buying accuracy at that price range but also technical aptitude and superior engineering, so . . . 🤷♂️
This new release of the PRX makes perfect sense. I have the 40mm PM80 and love it, as do some others who unfortunately rule it out as a purchase due to the way that the bracelet end links hang. Now they have the chance to consider the purchase of a classic 70's style piece that will fit. I have to wonder if there are any plans for Tissot to produce an automatic version as I think the ETA2824 based PM80 might fit. Well it does fit in the Tudor Black Bay 36 but I guess the case architecture would play a part in that decision.
A smaller automatic with dial texture would be a buy for me.
I really want this fucking watch its so classy and I love the band on the watch. The 40mm was too big for my small wrist so this watch is perfect I personally only buy watches between 35-38mm. Im going to pull the trigger soon. I really love this review one of the best out. Very thorough and good snapshots of the watch
I like the size, my everyday wear is my SNE01 Seiko 36mm and I love that size. I not to fond of the square case of that prx but I am looking to get into my first Swiss watch and I am going with Tissot (affordable) but I'm gonna try the Tissot 316L Stainless, day date @ 39mm. Hopefully it doesn't wear too big on my wrist. I also have several Seiko 5's which also come in at 36-36.5mm.
Such a nice watch. I think I will order mine tody. Still not shure what colour to chose!
would love a no-date version of this
Im waiting for the automatic version of this 35mm prx. Im pretty sure tissot will release an automatic ver with the powermatic 80 mvmt.
I wear 34mm oyster and 39mm BB58. Small watches are back!
The gold version in the video has the second-hand misaligned? I know it's a common flaw of the model. Seems to still be there. Glad the 40mm I got is aligned.
Hey Teddy. Do you think they will release an automatic version of the 35mm too?
My first watch in this size range is the OG Explorer at 36mm…to this day, I love the simplicity, comfort and size of that watch.
This watch has a splendid bracelet!
Is it official that Tissot will release also 35 mm powermatic 80 ? Thank you Teddy for this one.
Hopefully they come out with a 35mm automatic! Hopefully it happens!🙏🏽😍
Really wish they'd kept the vertical dial brushing on the colorways that had it on the 40mm's. That silver/rosegold variant looks so good with vertical brushing, but i feel the 40 will be too big for me.
I tried the 40mm and it's too big for my 6.25" wrist. I am looking forward to this, especially looking forward to this with an automatic.
I have same size wrist as u. I thought 40mm was large too. Saw the 35mm and its too small. And i tried the 40mm again, when the bracelet is fit snug, the fit is actually nice. Try it, I guarantee it. 35 really does look like a ladies watch. Or should i say, wheb u wear it, u look like u r wearing ur mom’s watch
Try having a 6.0 inch wrist lol
@@ohkayw Disagree. That would mean every man out there in the 50’s looked like that had a woman’s watch on. That literally used to be the only size men wore.
I have a 6.4” wrist and the PRX35 wears like a dream! Definitely try it out at your AD.
@@ohkayw Nah, 40 mm looks like dinner plate. Even the legendary Rolex Explorer 124270 / 14270 looks amazing in 36 mm
How likely do you think it is that they are going to make an automatic version? I'm thinking of skipping, but at the same time the fomo is real.
No body is talking about this, but there is now an automatic 35mm, I found it in two certified dealers in my country. The blue dial, and the green dial.
I was very happy to see them, and considering buying the green.
My only complaint, is that it’s 35mm and still a 10.9 mm thickness, witch for me distraught the proportions a little bit.
It doesn’t show on the Tissot website, so maybe the dealers are selling a watch that didn’t come out yet, but it exists.
If they come out with a PRX 35mm powermatic 80, I'll buy it in a heartbeat
yeah me too
Finally a watch that fits most wrists!
I will wait for the automatic version. I'm not particularly excited about that caliber, since it's a pretty basic movement, but I much prefer the tapisserie dial and I can't stand the ticking hand anyway. Hope they will not make us wait for 1 more year...
Teddy mentions this watch will offer accuracy of +/- 15-20sec per month. I have this watch and its under +4sec per month. Which is about the same accuracy as my Hamilton Khaki Quartz with another "cheap" ETA quartz movement. These affordable quartz movements/watches are incredibly accurate.
Are there any news on the powermatic 35mm?
Own it, perfect size! Do not get scared by the 35mm it's a great unisex watch :D
Gettin this
The gold variant is tempting.
Is the bracelet on the 35mm long enough to accommodate guys with up to 7 1/2 inch wrists? I see this question asked on numerous videos but no one seems to have an answer
Can we change the metal strap to leather on this 35mm?
Will leather or rubber straps be offered for these as well?
Is the dark green dial not available on the 35mm as it is on the 40 mm powermatic 80?
This will be my first good watch•I’m just putting it out there ✌🏾
I wish the gold variation came with a brown or black dial.
Any chance of a black dial?
lol i was looking at this in 40 mm and was wondering why they don’t have it smaller .. then boom
Some guy was saying some of the pieces of the automatic movement were made of plastic. Is that correct
Wish you could get the ice blue dial in the 40mm size
Are there any plans for the Mint Green color to be released in 35mm?
Will it fit !my 7-1/4
wrist. Or is the bracelet too short?
do you think there'll be a powermatic/automatic version?
Do they make the mint green in 35mm I haven't seen it anywhere??
Hey Teddy why don't you review Pagani Design and Benyar watches?
