  • A review of the new and outstanding Silverfish "Silver Bullet" harp mic - looks great, sounds great - played thru 3 different amps and then sonically compared to my vintage Shure Green Bullet. Get yours at www.silverfish-harmonicas.com

    Nice review Tim. The Silverfish sounds fantastic. Can’t wait to get mine. The Green Bullet also sounds great but I agree that the Silverfish has more bottom end. Nice collection of harp amps. Surprised the Epiphone sounds good, didn’t know you could get a cool sound from a solid state amp👍

      The Epiphone was my first amp ever, cost me about $40 in the mid-80s, had it since. Still use it in gigs from time to time. BTW - don't buy into the tube-only thing. There *are* some solid state amps out there that howl!

      Tim Douthit true man, I love tube amps but they make nice solid state amps too. For guitar, I have a katana 100 watt ss. Really nice tones

    That's a cool mic! I think shure mics are way over priced for what they are. That one's not bad at all.!

      agreed - but the Shure I have I got in high school (!), so I have a fondness for it.... lol.

    I’m torn between hunting down a JT-30, or going with one of these. The sound profile seems to be somewhat similar, does that hold true in person? I like the grip profile on the silverfish va the chunky astatic. Then again, it’s damn near impossible to get a good idea of which is best, they all sound great in this video. That Kalamazoo has such a cool warm lo-fi sound to it.

      I've never actually played thru a JT-30, so unfortunately I have no basis for comparison. I will say, tho, that the form factor of the SIlverfish is excellent - I can play thru that for hours and not cramp up, plus with that leather sheathing, it doesn't get slippery when I sweat....

      @@Tim48103 that may be the selling point for me, I have been blessed with sweaty palms 😂

    Another great video, thanks Tim. Have you ever thought of doing tutorial videos? I reckon you would be a natural at it mate.

      Aw, thanks Alan. But there are tons of guys doing tutorials out there already, and most of 'em can play circles around me. Adam Gussow, Tomlin Leckie (sp?) among many others. I'll stick to my product reviews for the budget conscious schtick for now..... Cheers!

    Thanks for the great review , is it smaller in Diameter then the shure or an astatic jt30

    • @Tim48103
      @Tim48103  Před 3 lety

      Yes - about 70% the diameter of the Green Bullet - I've never had my hands on an Astatic, so can't speak to that difference tho.... on my wish list, lol.
