So let me get this straight.
Mariana kept her relationship with Evan a secret, went behind his back and tipped off the Byte Club, convinced him to settle with them, publicly walked out on him without a plan, and he was STILL willing to make things work.
But Mariana’s “friends” feel betrayed by her relationship (even though that’s been what’s been getting their foot in the door) and tell her she only does the right thing when she’s forced to? Despite the fact that she has spent her entire time at Speckulate fighting for equal pay for them? And they just bail on her without a second thought.
Wow. You sure you made the right choice Mariana?

I think they felt betrayed because she lied about it. And Mariana has a history of compromising her morals for her boyfriends, so I think she is trying to get away from that.

The most interesting couple on the show for me. I love their little hand moments too. (3x1, 3x2, and 3x11) Writers, I challenge you to creatively write a script that has drama and excitement for these two character. Such drama must NOT include breaking up, or a love triangle.
Yes, I wish the writers would find a way to bring them back together; people can learn to be different and better in their relationships, it is possible; women friends are important but closer deeper relationships are too.

Let me see if I’m understanding this right.
Mariana throws her relationship with Evan away after telling her friends that she was sleeping with him, which wasn’t even their business and also knowing that it was working out in their favor and then her so called “friends” felt betrayed by her and basically throws her to the wolves to deal with the aftermath. She irritates my soul with her stupid decision making.
We ALL DID NOT WANT THIS BREAKUP.

As if she broke up with him for those so called “friends”… that’s so silly.
I'm really surprised Mariana thought those girls would accept her back after that revelation. I've been saying it from the beginning, the fact that she had to hide that relationship was a sign that it was going to blow up in her face. I'm tired of Mariana only picking her politics when it's convenient for her (ex: Evan didn't end ACT-ivism, didn't address the gender pay gap in his country until he was forced to, all those other work issues and she still hopped into his bed). This breakup was only prompted by the group finding out, not by Mariana doing any actual introspection. That's why I ultimately think it was a shame she broke up with Evan; I don't think she wanted to, and I don't think she's that much of a justice warrior like Callie where she always puts her belief system above all else. So the least she can do now is be honest with herself moving forward so she can avoid situations like this 🤔

Her friends are not fake, they made a valid point. Mariana only does the right thing, is only honest when she has no choice. Even her getting with Evan initially and admitting her feelings was because she thought Raj had given her an out. And her choice to hide Evan from her friends shows a lack of confidence on her part when it came to her relationship. She needs time to work on herself a bit and figure out how to not bend for her partners, and be more honest. I wouldn't trust her either if I were her friends. Evan did create a hostile work environment, whether intentionally or not. Now they cannot call that out because their group was compromised by her relationship.
I agree. Everyone is mad at the group of friends, but is anyone thinking from their perspective? They literally quit their jobs and have been struggling from the fallout that originated from them being involved in the pay gap discrepancy going public at Spekulate. Now don't get me wrong, I don't blame Mariana for them quitting their jobs, but they were all making their next moves together in confidence. If I heard that a team member (who had quite the say in the group) was actually involved with the person who had the most influence in making my past workplace environment better I would be furious too. If we want to make the argument that the girls were not good "friends", then I'd agree because some of their behavior in the past was questionable. But they were co-workers first, and that makes a huge difference. Mariana never seems to establish healthy boundaries with the people she gets close to :/

Marianna was in JUST as deep as they were and she was the only one who made ANYTHING happen. They would still be working at spekulate underpaid without an app if it wasnt for her. They don’t have brains or the personalities to even do anything for themselves. Her being in a relationship with Evan did not effect the girls lives in any way shape or form. They wanted to cut corners and sue Evan when he didnt deserve it instead of working on their business from the ground up and build it themselves. Those girls are pure trash.

This is why you keep work & personal separate. Don’t go into business with friends or family as well because there will always be something holding you back if a hard decision has to be made. In business relations on a personal level because one party can manipulate the others . Learned that a very hard way.

No bc this was painful to watch bc their the only reason why I watch this show still but I feel like this is just a trick and they will get back together by the end of the season.
In detail thoughts on this it's ALOT specifically discussed 6 things:
1: Her "friends" are so weird. Like you don't need to know who she is dating and it really pissed me off how they were like is that why you and raj broke up cuz you were cheating like automatically assuming question.. like really...it's NONE of your business..
2: It's just like wow. When she finally chose to tell them she's dating their ex boss.. then their like I feel "betrayed"... I'm kinda glad their not friends anymore cuz their super toxic and Mariana deserves better and the fact their talking about betrayal and she only does the right thing when she has to basically...
3: Like ok and you all bail on her and are ready to end a friendship so quick over her keeping a relationship secret. Tryna do the right thing.. Like really. Anyways. I get that was your boss but ok ppl can't help who they love even if it conflicts with your business/team...
4: I think Mariana should get back with Evan and when her "friends" realize they made the wrong decision since it was MARIANA doing most the stuff tryna help the team Mariana should just be like nope. Let's not forget Marianas been tryna do the right thing with pay gaps even before these ppl became her friends and were on HER team and even before BEFORE she got with Evan...
5: And if they ask her back she should be like nope... first off you try to kick me off of MY team I STARTED?? Like no keep "your team".. I agree with all of this. I think her friends influenced her to stop having compassion for Evan when he made mistakes and grew from them. The fact that they said the same thing to her that she had said to Evan proves that. Those women had a ruthless mentality where you have to be perfect and there's no forgiveness if you're not. Unfortunately, Mariana bought into that crap. My heart broke for her when they turned on her and she was pretty much in Evan's shoes seeing how it feels to be dumped when you're doing all you can to be better. Those fake friends took everything SHE contributed and left. She was the visionary of their brand and they were just followers.

This is so dumb. She says she is breaking up with him because she has to "keep making excuses" for him. Like hello, news flash Mariana, no one is perfect. Unless he is doing shady things and hurting people out of malice, then breaking up because he is human is wrong. He loves and respects Mariana. Bold Type did the same thing with Eva and its just as unhealthy as Disney's history of creating the "one true love" romantic fantasy. It's okay to have relations with people who are incredibly different. If they are persistently and grossly disrespectful, disloyal, dishonest, and unreliable then that's a problem.
Exactly! Even though he makes mistakes (EVERYONE DOES!), he has that RARE quality where he genuinely wants to learn from them and be a better person. And he never holds it against her when she calls him out.

They have a point, at least with his situation. And so did Mariana when she spoke to Evan - she wasn't being a great person/ her best self while making excuses and lying to her friends and business partners. She shouldn't have expected everything to be fixed because the root of the issue wasn't her dating Evan, it was keeping it a secret. If they had known before starting up their business, and they felt a certain way about it, there is left emotional involvement and it would've been their problem. Mariana made it hers when she kept it from them. And to be clear, I've been a Mariana x Evan shipper since they met in the elevator at her old job, so I'm VERY UPSET THEY'RE BROKEN UP. Especially because she dumps it at him, gives him a hug and storms off without giving him a real chance to process what just happened. Then she left him alone with those emotions 😞 It's unfair for everyone, and I really hope it can be fixed.

Stopped watching this the minute I found out they broke up. If they don't get back together then this show is no longer on my watchlist cause the breakup was unnecessary.
They aren’t even her friends as we say later In the episode friends forgive for things that aren’t major because this wasn’t major at all don’t try to debate with me either cause I won’t respond … she kept a co worker sort of relationship with them so they did the same thing back and decided to cut her from the team which I found dramatic because it’s not your business who I do or do not date and it helped the team in the end didn’t it so shrink your pride and ego and stop being butts
