This is my personal experience with the vertical labret and might not be the same for you. Just make sure to be very consistent with your cleaning and be patient! let me know if you have any questions đŒ - Jak na to + styl
I got mine done about five days ago and the only thing that Iâve dealt with so far is the bruising and chapped lips and it hasnât bled đ
Yesss my lip hurt the top part is white and a bubble . They gave me a hoop for mines tho

I got my middle labert under my bottom lip Wednesday September 2 yes the chapped lips are the worst part lol but no pain at all and I'm not crazy swollen at all so September 23 or September 30 I'm aloud to go to the pier down size then leave it be until December 2 so I'll be doing the cleaning routine until then lol

I definitely hated the chapped lips afterwards. It hurt a LOT when getting it done, but I felt nothing while it healed. It did hurt when eating big foods(hamburgers mostly) cause you have to open wide. My whole bottom lip was bruised blue and I actually had to go to the hospital after getting it done. I have type 1 diabetes and my body went into shock because it wasnât used to having a random piece of metal inside my lip lol... ended up staying the night and kind of almost died, but Iâm okay! They almost made me take it out, but I kept it in. Best piercing Iâve had.
oh my god that's so scary, sorry you had to go through that.. I didn't know this could happen, thanks for sharing your experience I'm sure this will be helpful to diabetic people watching this! It's also one of my favorite piercings I'm glad you decided to keep it, I hope it healed okay despite what happened! đ

that's insane! my piercer had a notice in the paperwork to not get this piercing if you are diabetic, have a heart condition, severely anemic etc!
Most professional tattoo places will have in writing asking if you are diabetic. If you talk to your Dr ahead of time and you clear it then they shouldn't be any complications. I cleared it with my Dr, since my diabetes is under control I was allowed to go through with it. Just makes the healing time longer though
of course I had contacted my doctor about it. They said it was fine. My body still unexpectedly went into shock and sent me into pre-dka, ive had some complications with recent body modifications as well but not as bad as the first time! @@luciouslips26

Got mine done yesterday! The jewelry is a little small, like right now it's just the right size for it not to be irritating (bc of the swelling) so I just hope there won't be more swelling than that.
Apart from that, I 100% agree that the process of getting it pierced is the only painful thing about it. It doesn't hurt at all now lol
I got mine on Saturday! I also Bruised but pretty badly. Today is Wednesday and its still yellow from bruising and the chapped lips are THE WORST!! D; Thank you for posting your experience. Nice to know I'm not the only one who bruised.

@@yanna396 actually i got it repierced a few weeks after this comment because it was bothering me a lot that it was off center :( i dont have ocd but it was a big issue for me fnbfhdjr the good thing about piercings is that if u dont like how it is you can always take it off and repierce it! ^^

luckily where im going to get mine again they give you a paper which explain what you shoukd and shouldnt do and the aftercare.

Omg yes do it! I was nervous about it for so long but I just recently got it done and I love it! Itâs hard to eat food like sandwiches and stuff while itâs healing, I break off pieces off big food, and definitely use straws. But overall itâs not bad!! If you want to, I say go for it!!!
@@briannacrowley7068 okay I'm definitely gonna get it. I was scared at first as I only have my septum and nose pierced on my face, as well as 5 ear piercings. i was worried that because it's on my lip it wouldn't heal but I'm not worried anymore :)
I got mine just a couple of days ago. For now there's no swelling, not too much pain, just a little bruise on the upper side. My lips are a little chapped, they feel a lot dry because of the salted water, but nothing a chapstick can't solve. No problems when sleeping, it feels just a little weird when I'm eating or brushing my teeth. My lips were anesthetized when I got it done, but I still felt pain when the needle was going out, I would say a 4/10 tho. I swear my lobe piercings hurted way more in the healing process
So, I've been debating about whether or not I should get this piercing, and this video definitely helped.

I've been told by some people that they can feel it but it's not bothering at all, they actually quite like it. So I highly recommend getting it, let me know if you do!! đđ
i got mine done yesterday and iâve been worrying so much about it rejecting (my belly button piercing rejected :(( ) but this video was very useful on how to keep my piercing happy
I got mine done yesterday, it's still a bit sore but its honestly not bad at all.
I'm on day 2, and I too am noticing that it's in the middle of my lips but not in the middle of my chin. Yay asymmetry!

Had mine done yesterday. My piercer specifically said to just spray with saline when cleaning (2-3 times a day) and NOT to use a q-tip to clean, as the fibers from the q-tip can actually go into the hole and qause agitation.
I use burts bees too!!!! I watched your video before I got my piercing, I am on day 2 and watching again for aftercare â€

I got mine done a little over a week ago. It wasn't terrible to get used to since I already have snake bites, but daaaaaayum the chapped lips!!!! I've been trying to keep them as moist as possible, but they still dry up and peel. I'm hoping this doesn't last too much longer, b/c it's def driving me INSANE!!!

I'm glad it helped! Most people don't mention it at all actually, but the questions i get the most are "did it hurt?" and "what does kissing feel like?" :) no one has ever made a mean comment about it

My lip is peeling around it and itâs SO ANNOYING. Also I put ice on mine like right away. I think thatâs why mine didnât get as bruised or swollen
Mine is also a little bit scew though. Always trust your piercer. They have done this before and know where to place it. Every time I ask them to pierce on a different spot than the initial dot I always end up regretting it
I got this same piercing 5 days ago and the chapped lips were rly bothering me but I was able to get rid of the dead skin and I was sooooo happy XD I also rly love this piercing and agree that I think it's my fave!

âŒïžâŒïž guys, pleaseeee dont play with the piercing or touch it with dirty fingers after getting it. it could get infected that way so if u do plan on playing with it, WASH YOUR HANDS FIRST. but i donât recommend touching it at all, just keep cleaning it. âŒïžâŒïž
I got mine pierced 2 weeks ago and haven't had much issues with it and mine is just a tad off center alittle and the challenges with the vertical lip labret piercing is trying to eat or drink I drink with a straw but since I had it pierced I noticed chapped lips due to the saline solution I use 2 times a day

i just got mine done on tuesday along with my septum and goddamn my septums been a hell to look after and clean while the labret is so damn simple to clean and doesnt hurt at all and it didnt even hurt when she pierced it i was like wait its done? huh? while my septum she had to redo it cus i moved so much cus it hurt SO BAD lmao but labret piercing was so easy and id recommend to anyone as a first piercing or literally any lip piercing they hurt the least out of the 4 ive had done before (the other 4 fell outđ)

My piercier gave me a longer bar and I got I done October 28th and it's stinking into my lip and a lil discharge and still swollen a lil bit. And buried still. Is that normal

I just got this piercing and itâs a bit off center.. she was trying to tell me that when it heals the skin will tighten around it and straighten it out... so not sure and hope it doesnât bother so much I have to get it repierced...
I think she might be right! because I don't feel like my piercing is off center anymore đ§ but maybe I got too used to it... I really don't notice it anymore so hopefully you won't either đ
Just wondering, did your piercer give you a smaller bar to use after it stopped swelling? They gave me an extra bar, smaller than the one in my lip, and said I should change my original piercing after 10 days. I'm just concerned that if I change my piercing so soon, it'll mess it up. I might just wait for it to fully heal before I use the smaller bar.
Hi! Yes i went to my piercer 2 weeks after i got it pierced to get it changed. It went super smoothly and didnt mess up my piercing. If you go to a professional you shouldnt have to worry! dont do it yourself though

The ball of my piercing keeps sticking to my lip and everytime I remove it my lip bleeds again. Any tips??
You should soften the crusts when you want to move it, so you can put a bit of warm water or saline solution to clean it. Then it shouldn't bleed! Try not to move the ball when the crusts are hard though, as the bleeding will delay the healing process. good luck! :)
I got mine on Saturday itâs now Wednesday I have been cleaning with my ear piercing cleaner from clears I think I might stop using that I did buy some womb wash from cvs that alr have salt water in it for cuts now my lips are dry I do use carmax sometimes also Is it normal to have white looking discharge on top of your lip piercing where the ball at ? And it sometimes get stuck and itâs dry itâs still a bit swollen and sore and my hole is small where it is place at ? I also use mouthwash I donât have zero I have with alcohol in it I clean it with the wound wash with a q-tip every morning n night and sometimes during the day I do have type 1 diabetes should I not over clean it ?
Hi Linnell! You definitely shouldn't over clean it, and never put anything that has alcohol on it. The best healing method is to make your own sea salt solution with warm water (1/4 teaspoon with 250ml of water), you soak your piercing for a few minutes, then rise. You can do this morning and evening. After 2 weeks, only in the morning. A white discharge is normal during the first week, but if it's painful and swollen for a long time, then it's not normal. I don't know what's in your ear piercing solution, but i highly recommend making your own sea salt water. Sometimes over-the-counter products have added ingredients or contain too much salt, which can irritate your piercing! Having dry lips is normal though.
I want this piercing but I graduate college in December and Iâm scared Iâll be told I canât wear it in a professional work setting :(
i totally feel you...i was facing the same issue but decided to have it anyway. I think it depends on what kind of work and company youâre looking for.. i was looking more for non profit jobs so theyâre usually more chill about it!

Hey! i think you should call the piercer just to make sure, but at this stage the best would be to leave the piercing (even if the bar is too shortâŠ) if itâs still in the swelling stage

I was really afraid as well! so to get a better idea I would take a random photo of myself and draw 2 white dots on my lips. Or i would take a jewelry (preferably a curved barbell) and hold it in front of my lips, to get a better idea of how it would look. i hope this helps!

I agree! I've had more than a dozen piercings. I had this done today and by the most painful !! Only the initial piercings though, it's been a few hours and there's no pain now.

I just got mine like 3 days ago and I donât really feel it so I would assume you would get used to itâŠ
I have to drink out of a straw until I learn how to properly drink without it getting in the way unless itâs a water bottleđ
The chapped lips is honestly the worst but Iâve been using chapstick around it to help but try not to get it in the piercingâŠ
Also I would recommend icing it before bed and sometimes during the day even if itâs not swollen because my piercer told me it could get swollen over time and Iâve seen others get swollen over time while healingâŠ

@rukeli got mine yesterday, the piercer said he placed it a bit too far up (it touches my upper lip and i cant really close my mouth) so i feel it all the time. hoping it goes down with the swelling, otherwise i might have to do it again. how did yours turn out?
@@satansbarn i literally took it out on the same day, it was giving me mad sensory overload and i wasnt able to play my flute which i didnt think to consider bc it was very much an impulse piercing, i was so sad i took it out bc it was looking so hot

2 weeks to change it to a smaller bar at the piercer, and then 3 months to change it myself!
@@teawithromy mines been healed for almost 7 weeks now do you think iâd be able to change it earlier? my piercer told me anywhere from 6-8 weeks or 8-10 weeks but it doesnât hurt at all and i can fully move it around, i just donât wanna cause problems but itâs too big still and bothering me more the the original
Do you have to keep it in the entire time? Kinda want to hire it from my family
The piercing should be in during the healing process, but once you can change it, you can buy a transparent retainer (i got mine from the online store crazy factory) and cut it to make it the length of your lip piercing :) it will still be slightly visible though⊠I also take it out when im at my parents and they can see the hole unfortunately⊠If you choose to take it out without a retainer/transparent piercing, it can close off very quickly (faster than any of my other piercings), like after 30min i already struggle to put it back.

You can put on chapstick but just avoid the pierced area!

i pierced mine a week ago and the chapped lips were super annoying but it eventually went away.. now im just dealing w this annoying ass crust and its so annoying and idk if its normal or not but its so fucking annoying god

Mine says with cold water.. Does it matter if its hot??
cold water is okay but if the water is warm, it will soften the crusts around the piercing and make it easier to clean :)
