Making $378K A Year As A Fiverr Freelancer
Let’s not mistake this for easy money. This woman is most likely an excellent writer and an obsessive proofreader.
very true unless she is working with others. Its not easy, especially editing. I worked at a place where 2 editors had a mental meltdown, because the business owner was too cheap to hire more editors and he worked them day and night (including weekends).
Nothing good is ever easy. But the learning lesson here is that she developed herself in a high quality subject matter expert. By delivering quality product, her rating increased which means her fees could increase - one begets the other. On a separate note, this is one of the better Making It videos I’ve seen in a while.
yeah the problem is that alot of tik tok kids believe everything and drop out of school cause they see an easy way out but in reality, freelancing or etc is not for eveyone, you must be really passionate about it.
Yeah this is more like the free market rewarding skill and efficiency
Sure, but she just said she only works 40hrs a week. For her, this is easy money, but for anyone else who tries to go down this path, they'd be lucky to make 50k a year working 60 hrs.
People here are talking about her talent, but I see very few people talking about her discipline. The discipline to manage yourself in a non corporate environment where you have no one to answer to and no one to keep you in check, I personally think that is very very commendable. And I also think that is one of the big things that contributed to her success.
She is fraudulent, google her. She outsources her work. She had completed 11,000 gigs. No way she did it on her own
@@vija992 She's been at it since 2017, so ~4 years, working 5 days a week is ~1000 days. Given that some of the work she does is editing, writing blog posts, or IG posts, I can easily see her cranking out ~11 of those a day. Not everything is an ebook. And if she's capable of writing 10k word ebooks in 2 days then she's clearly a fast writer.
@@vija992 as you grow u must outsource some work. Even amazon was doing it himself from his garage and later he got people working for him. It is the same thing. She must get other cheaper writers and then edit their work b4 submitting it. If she does it all by herself she will break down
Very well said
@@ayojoy1443 that's not the point of my comment. Outsourcing is not bad in itself, but not being transparent about your practices is. And she does lots of other questionable things too. I mean, she is praised on this video, and it's CNBC to blame for giving her the spotlight without researching her properly
I wish her continued success! When my husband started his business he worked 18 hour days. He saw clients during the day and did all the quotes/office work at night. Year 1 was $275k. With tremendous discipline it can be done.
18hr a day? I hope that didn't last too long cause he will be dead in no time.
Lol
Sounds horrible... I hope he's really passionate about this
What business?
what kind of business?
I wanna see one featuring an older millenial, born in the 80's, who got a late start but is crushing it now.
Yeah, seeing more successes about the Forgotten Generation would be nice. I think we're all but forgotten, though.
Yes
Me!!!!
Yup
That’s me. Slaved it out for 15 years in retail. Software engineer now. The last five years of my life have been transformative beyond any reality I grew up with.
The thought of writing 10,000 words in two days makes me sad.
She clearly loves her work and has a talent for it.
Facts I always hated writing
For the average person who enjoys writing, 10,000 words could be done in maybe 6-8 hours. It's primarily proof reading and combing-through the details that takes the most time, usually.
If you worked 5 hours a day, that's 16 words a minute. Roughly a word every four seconds. I dunno - seems doable.
@@JaydenLawson That's assuming you already know the words that will be used. Usually when writing you go through many poses while thinking about which words to use and how to continue your paragraphs. Depending on the topic at hand you could also need some or a lot of research, which takes considerable time.
@@stand4justice4867 sure. Add some research time. I'm just saying, if you're in the zone, and you've trained yourself to get in the zone, it doesn't seem that impossible in that timeframe
she found her niche. she did it. she sounds happy, doing what she loves. she made it.
Yep it's marketing. Do it. Market yo self.
Amen. Enough said

Go for it but don't believe anything you see on CZcams also
After doing a little research it became apparent this girl is running a content mill: as many others have noted, the numbers do not, and cannot, add up. She outsources most/all of her writing projects, apparently to non-native-English-speaking writers, according to some of her customers. Her hustle seems to be selling courses to young people who don't know any better.
dumb and naive people who don't know any better buying courses? yeah, that's just a giant Red Flag when some "influencers" have links on their profile to their courses lol. I think one day I'm going to do that too. the easiest way to lure people pay for horseshits.
Interesting, thanks
It's kind of hilarious how many losers are worshiping her like she is not making this amount of money through surreptitious methods.
@@smellypatel5272 nah she really made that from Fiverr. The influencer stuff and course stuff is newer and a great way to scale her business and income.
No, she built a team of like minded people on fiver to help manage her operations and tedious tasks like emails etc so she can focus on the meat and potatoes. This is crucial to being successful in any entrepreneur taking the next step.
She changed my life. I found her on tiktok and started following her advice because I'm a writer myself and I owe a lot to her because her advice came during COVID when I lost my job.
Are you making a good amount now ?
How are you doing now, Are you getting writing gigs?
Would def be interested to know how it helped. Best of luck!
Awesome!! Are you a freelance writer now? What kind of advice did you follow?!
This is a scam. The person commenting is likely part of it. Don't fall for it people. They lure you in and then sell courses. It's an oversaturated market filled with cheap slave labour.
I think we should normalise talking about money and earnings. I think she’s brilliant, definitely inspiring.
100%
yes because it helps us all to know her earnings and motivates our own intentions to succeed
@@MaryBartnikowski definitely
corporates don't want that, or how else they are gonna manipulate the pay scale of different employees.
Absolutely not. I’m 26 and make over 700k a year. The amount of greed, hate, jealously, and envy that comes with this is disgusting. I am happy to be free but sad that it came at the price of my social life.
You forgot the "* results not typical" part.
If Fiverr contacted her to do an ad, then she's at the top tier. It's like Michael Jordon come out and tell you he made millions from playing his favorite sport, and you can too. It's 100% true and deceptive at the same time.
Well she did say that she started by making 15 a day and slowly rose to be number 2 in their tier. That alone is a feat.
@@irmar I think the fact that it is a feat is Livid Imps point
She literally said she was inducted into a special tier of Fiverr. How much clearer does the video have to be that this isn't typical??
hmm? she's at the top tier NOW. She wasn't before. Rags to riches.
I feel like she wouldn't be able to do this if she wasn't good looking. I don't see her doing this if she was obese.
i admire her discipline. i made Fiverr to see if I can sell my work and within 3 weeks of creating my account i'm slowly beginning to get in orders. i get about 2 a day, pale in comparison to her but tbh, it's a graft. managing your own workload with your personal life, managing the people behind the orders, even though i only get 2 a day (lmao) it's honestly hard. you really have to manage your time and discipline yourself. no where near six figures (yet) but i just quit my day job this morning because i'm breaking even without the hassle or headache of managers and rude customers
crazy, with her work ethic she actually might have been a great corporate worker but not have made the money she does now. She basically earns small company CEO/founder money
Except it's all a scam... and she's really trying to sell courses because fiverr is oversaturated with cheap labor. Don't be a sucker
@@ryansmithc You could have called it a scam when she was starting out, and her clients were calling out the low quality of her deliverables, refusing to re-hire her, and leaving her bad reviews on Fiverr.
Obviously that hasn’t happened. She’s churning out a lot of work, because to her clients it’s still very valuable and high quality work.
The value of writing deliverables is easily measured. You can’t call it a scam when the data is showing otherwise.
@@ryansmithc Not _really_ a scam. Her profile has ~7000 positive reviews and she charges ~75$ per gig so if you add everything up since 2015 she made about half a million $$. I suppose the number 378K is mostly from her last year on the platform. I am sure that there is quite a fair amount of exaggeration going on in terms of results but it still adds up.
@@cyberlord64 okay so what's her link?
@@ryansmithc Her Fiverr is Faswaldo.
Let's not mistake this for something easy that anyone can do to make 15k a month online. Writing is a talent and on top of that, doing anything for anyone else is hard work, doesn't matter how much you love it, you're still not doing it for yourself.
More importantly, she got in on the ground floor of fiver and did the grind for a couple of years. I assume trying to break into her gig now with similar success is probably impossible. Awesome for her but I wouldn't quit my day job. Now she wants to sell her path like the other drop-shipping dude bros which is disappointing.
@@collin9085 yeah, u could quit your job if u invested smart
True. If I tried this I wouldn't do well creating stories and biographies. My strength would be in editing. Proofreading.
Writing is not a talent. Like visual arts, it's something anyone can practice and get better at. People tend to give up though, in the learning stages and believe they have no talent for it. I couldn't read or write properly, during ALL my formal education. Teachers plastered my work with red pen, corrections. After leaving school though, I decided to write a book, just for me. I was completely driven, by putting words together. This was just prior to Google search engines, so I used a dictionary and thesaurus. Now everyone I know, asks me how to spell, and proofread their work. Even employed as a Legal Secretary, where words are law. The key really is to be driven enough. Even if you're not doing it for yourself, for the most part, that's where you start.
@@Christodophilus Exactly! Writing is a skill, and it gets easier with practice.
Talent, Work Ethic, Good decisions, Professional Advice ( Accounts, Lawyers), Calculated risk taker equals success. It is rare to find all these qualities in one individual that is why she is a 1 percenter born in the USA. She is an undeniable raging success and deserves all she has. Awesome and inspiring!
This is GOALS! I recently signed up for Upwork to get into the freelance writer life and immediately doubled my hourly rate with no issues. She's right that you can make a ton of money but that discipline and dedication is another skill all in itself. Super inspiring! Love this.
Upwork is a great platform for writers, I've been earning there for 8 years now. For me, creating a workable system for writing personalized proposals so I don't spend as much time writing proposals (cover letters) as I do actually doing the job was the key to success. I also learned to trust my instincts when it comes to deciding which jobs to take a pass on. I have more than 30 years of professional experience as a journalist, editor, and copywriter, but there were times in the past when I got desperate and took relatively low-paying jobs just to keep earning. I finally stopped settling for anything but "expert" level pay a couple years ago and have had great results. Keep at it, keep expanding your skillset, build a great portfolio (very important!), and you will succeed, too. Best of luck to you🙂
And my mom said writing would never pay. Turns out all I needed were the right opportunities.
Look into financial copywriting
Except it's all a scam... and she's really trying to sell courses because fiverr is oversaturated with cheap labor. Don't be a sucker
Some people can’t see the opportunities there are to earn income and a create a decent living beyond the typical 9-5. Where others see opportunities some see something that’s “impossible” or “won’t work.” The good thing is you don’t need the approval of others to be able to pursue your goals, you need to just believe in yourself, and ultimately take action towards those goals, and have patience and not give up just because you might not see results right away. 👍
Not 100% accurate. You need knowledge, hardwork, and perseverance before and after getting the opportunity. Opportunity in the hands of oblivious people won't work, it works when you know how to use it properly.
Key take away: There's no such thing as easy money. What makes it seem easy are your attitudes and feelings towards the work you do.
@@ryansmithc Great someone has the brain to see the lies. Let us do quick math, 378k a year . Assume she works all year long, minus 2 weeks vacation, say 50 weeks, that's $7560 per 40 hour week, ie $189 per hour. Fiverr takes 20% of what the clients pay, so I assume this is her take home, in other words, 80% of what she actual makes. So she makes about $236 an hour , writing ebooks and blogs on Fivrr. Wow! Not too bad... I am sure there are a few doctors and lawyers that will be jealous!
What if you outsourced your freelance work to other freelancers at a lower cost and then just chilled
thts what I was thinking, but prob cause quality control is hard especially on fiver with no real contracts. Also if a deadline isnt met then the responsibility is 100% on her cause she was the one hired for her work.

That's 40 pages in 2 days. I don't know anyone who writes and proofreads this fast on a consistent basis, & I know many professional writers. Writing is brain intense. I'd like to see CNBC show more proof with its interviews, including tax information. Also, I'd love to see samples of writing. Does anyone remember their high school or college teacher telling them that writing is easy and then pulling an all nighter to crunch out an average paper? Anyway, buyer beware.
Totally agree with you!
She really shows how much money a hard working, competent, dedicated employee really generates. She keeps all her income instead of helping support deadbeat coworkers and managers.
This comment made me LOL. We've all had them. I had a co worker who showed up late EVERY DAY, I'm talking 20-30 minutes late. He would say, "What did I miss?" and expect me to stop my work to fill him in.
Shes not an employee!
Coworkers are deadbeat because they know working harder does not make you more money. Sheesh. Punch up not down or across. Oh and before you ask, yes I’m that deadbeat coworker. Studies have already proven that working harder for your bosses makes them richer and you burnt out. I don’t burden my coworkers at least. I just do the bare min and clock out.
@@serenesista Being too smart, competent or productive makes employees a threat to supervisors and managers. Complimenting, agreeing, liking their bad taste, telling stupid managers how intelligent or insightful (maybe too big of a word for them) they are will get you bonuses and promoted. Pretending to work is often more important than accomplishing real work. Many bosses will only care how well you treat them.
Umm she is NOT an employee, she's an ENTREPRENEUR
As a freelancer I doubt her income is the same every year. But yeah, anyone who can write a book in 2 days is an extremely talented individual. Good for her!

That's true, but even if she's making 100k less for let's say a slow year, that's still a lot of money,
Her story is a good example of how bad/ draining/ or not ideal situations can propel a person to step into their purpose. Big Ups.
Dayjobs are like being stuck in highschool. Sure you get paid, but now everyone has kids and you no longer hang out. Instead of talking about your dreams and aspirations for the future(most have given up on that) they talk about winning the lottery and gossip about the one still trying to make it. The Matrix was a documentary.
This made me smile. It’s brings me joy to see people make it in something they know they’ve always been good at. I can relate to that feeling of hating her job and feeling out of place.
It also says, she worked 10-12 hrs 7 days a week (meaning she has no other obligations) & it took 3 yrs. (2016-18), not some overnight success. She also had private clients, plus social media clients, etc. & Fivver controls who can be labeled a PRO & thus charge higher rates! So, this is clearly more of an oddity than a norm! But good on her & more power to her.
She got in Fivver early also. Higher barrier to entry now with so much competition.

She's hustling and getting rich while I'm here watching CZcams videos. All kidding aside, she's got a skill most of the world doesn't have if she's that prolific with her writing.
She's a scammer. Here's why:
She used an automatic text generating program + outsourced her Fiverr work to 3rd world writers. This allowed her to knock out projects FAST.
Her $350k income figure includes her Shopify store and Course sales. It's NOT from Fiverr alone. It's actually fraudulent to combine multiple forms of income & then claim it's one source in your advertisement. She's opening herself up to an FTC lawsuit.
She's not subtracting the amount of money she's paid out to contractors from this income figure. I also suspect she's padding the number a bit.
It's a shame she's misleading new writers into thinking they can easily make multiple 6-figures on Fiverr.
Hint: you can't.

As someone who works at a large corporation, you can charge a LOT more than $1000 for 10,000 words. We pay more than that for 800 words.

Congratulations Alex. Well done to you. You have made your actions and gut feel your life. It’s difficult to do what you have done with your skills and talents. Not everyone would do it. Sometimes the easy safe option is comfortable. You challenged yourself and are winning on your terms. All the best to you and ignore the jealous haters. They just don’t have the talent, skills or guts to do it themselves. You have proven there is no roof for you. You are opening up your options. Wish you much success.
I was a freelance writer for over 20 years.
She's not the typical freelancer because she's writing e-books instead of white papers and case studies or like I did -articles for newspapers and magazines .
Im not surprised she's making a lot more money. Frankly, its a lot easier financially to be a freelance writer at least in terms of pay at least it was for me.
How much do you typically make as a freelance writer?
@@TheHandleOnCZcams It. depends
I wrote for magazines and newspapers and their freelance fees. varied.

You go, girl! What an inspiration. Thanks for sharing and I hope your life in Florida is very happy!
You inspired me to try to be a voice-over in Fivver because I used to be a voice-over for Ads in China. I thank you so much for this program!
The grind is real 🙌 fair play to her! That’s insane
Ok I love this episode and might be one of my favorites! I love how she took the opportunity to leave her job and find a different and more compatible way to make money. Another inspiration! Only thing I wished they did was show that usual pie chart breakdown as opposed to mentioning what she spends here and there
Alex, you keep on talking about the money you make (follow your instincts). You're an inspiration and a role model to other women and especially younger women who are just starting out and don't have much life experience. You remind me of my sister, she also had your philosophy and she was an amazing woman. More power to you (and I will be following your videos in the future).

She's doing really well at making money but I hope she learns more about investing! Glad to hear she is getting into real estate though.

I love, love, love hearing these types of stories…. You are inspiring!
All those "men" hating on her for making that much money, speaks more about their insecurities as men, and not anything to do with Alex. Keep doing you Alex, and block out that noise.

Very well done Alex and such an inspiring video here. All the best to you.
so proud of her
There is so much money out there in this world... You just need to grab it (easier said than done but it`s true). Congrats on your success!
I'm getting into the NFT art stuff. stilll early there and the money is so random. animation is king but I do photoshop which is still ok. the profit margins are soooooo good. even if you sell a digital piece to someone you get 10% when it is resold. so if it goes for 100K someday you get 10K.

You go girl! This is wonderful and inspiring.
Genuine, hardworking, and so humble. Love it!
At this point she is an expert in her field of work so she needs to just focus on teaching clients/companies and CZcams. She don’t need to do 12hr days 7days a week now. She can double the income she has now by doing CZcams and Teaching. She even verified on IG and solid reputation. Price going up 📈 💰. Congrats to her, well done. 👏
I am a freelance writer. And she is right, it is lots of work. She deserves her income.
I love this, so inspirational. I can wait for you to triple that!
I really appreciate this video. I've had smallish success with Fiverr and this is making me reconsider giving it another go, branching out with more gigs. Thank you!
If you rent on Airbnb, rent out for a minimum of two weeks to prevent the weekend partiers from ruining your place. I rent out my Florida mobile home for a minimum of a month in a 55+ community. The community insists on doing background checks on all of my renters. It has worked out well thus far.
I'd really love to see the breakdown of the revenue. How much comes from Fiverr projects vs the other things mentioned (online courses and "private clients")? Did she land 1 or 2 big clients and a few small ones? Also, writing is a creative process and an iterative process... I'm curious how she's able to churn out pieces like a factory. Does she specialize in certain topics, thereby avoiding tons of research? Is any of this automated?
I doubt it's automated. She works 10+ hours a day. She discusses a range of topics she writes about in the video, ex blog posts, copywriting.
Except it's all a scam... and she's really trying to sell courses because fiverr is oversaturated with cheap labor. Don't be a sucker
I am not her obviously but I am a freelance writer and make around 5k a month, working a maximum of twenty hours a week. Most writers indeed focus on specific topics; I write about medical finance and have a lot of knowledge about this topic which makes research really fast. Most writers specialize in specific topics so they can be referenced as an authority on that topic. Due to my speed I write articles around 1k words in about 1-1.5 hours, which nets me around $150. A lot of it becomes automatic which saves your energy for projects that are actually hard.
This is fake stuff...
She’s definitely not making that much money on fiverr alone. Probably not even half of it but this is an ad for fiverr so they’re not gonna tell you that
You are so talented congratulations on all your success. I wish even more for you in your future!
This is so inspiring! I have written press releases, marketing emails, resumes for others, social media posts, etc. FOR FREE! It’s time for me to escape the rat race and use my talent to do it!

Incredible! What a phenomenal story. Thanks for inspiring Alex
Good for you, Alex! You are an inspiration.
This is amazing. She should be so incredibly proud of herself. Watched a video on cnbc recently about people who refuse to pay back their student loans. It was discouraging to see people essentially give up. This could’ve been her but she found an opportunity in the face of adversity. Cheers to all your success.
You sound like such a fool. Student loans are nigh impossible to pay back due to how expensive they are and college is a poverty trap. Working hard at a job usually just means your boss gets richer while your income remains the same.
If she wants to quit Fiverr, and move to teaching. She could also create her own copywriting/content creator company, and have others work for her just for another source of income where she has to put in minimal effort.
Props to her, she went all in and is killing it!

Kudos to you, Alex! She is brilliant, grounded and has very good money management skills. Keep climbing!
I don't know who, but someone actually needs to hear this, you've got to stop saving all your money. Venture into investing some, if you really want financial stability
Invest globally in bitcoin, gold, silver, forex market, commodities. Just don't be left out and save yourself
Beautifully said, I tell my folks these words everyday. It's good to save money but most people don't understand the market moves and tend to be misled in facts like this and always depend on money in the bank.
Pure wise comment.
I understand the fact that tomorrow isn't promised to anyone, but investing today is a hard thing to do because i have no idea of how and where to invest in these?
