    As a vocal student, and an amateur and avid runner, this is a video that I always knew I needed, but never thought I would find. Thanks so much for the advice! :)

    Thank you so much for sharing your tips!! I am also an opera singer and running helps me a lot with finding my breath daily and building the stamina. I love the fact that you are enjoying your life with singing and running and I can tell that you do have a good spirit :)

    Thank you so much ,Lisette.My name is Jossi Fries,and I'm am a professional pianist of 49 years old.Because of a huge life accident I still didn't make anything special from it.But I plan on a miraculuosly come-back anyway.Between the years 2010 and 2014 I ran 5 marathons and than I switched for shorter distances.Now I know for sure that because of you I will definitely be able to incorporate full marathons with my music career.

    Since I wanna start building stamina and vocal stability, I’ve been looking for videos or just tips on how to start so this was REALLY helpful. I thought that I should run and sing at a fast pace but now knowing that it has to be a moderate pace that lets me talk, it’s gonna be a mistake I will avoid. 💜💜💜

    How can you be so beautiful? Congratulations to mother nature and your parents and of course, to you for the effort you make not to ruin it but to improve on it. Lovely speaking voice and accent, not to mention the beauty of your singing voice and looks! I really don't like running, but if it helps with stamina at singing, I might just try it. All the sports I do, are either sitting (horseback riding), flat on my belly (swimming) or upside down (scuba diving). Love your joyfulness, I am the same!

    This is not exactly related but it brought to mind an anecdote I read about Kirsten Flagstad. She didn’t run but she “power walked” or the 1930 equivalent and sometimes jogged between New York City lamp posts and sang from lamp post to lamp post in order to improve her breath support. Just thought I’d share. LOLs

    Do you specifically recommend mouth or nose breathing while you’re running? And how did you teach yourself to do the inhale, exhale for different amounts? Just intentional work as you were going? Thank you for your wonderful videos ❤️

    • @LisetteOropesaSoprano
      @LisetteOropesaSoprano  Před 4 lety +9

      Great question!! If the air is really dry and/or you have a sore throat, then nose breathing is good, but it's kind of hard and slows you down a lot. But it's the best way to keep your cords hydrated. I personally breathe in from every orifice possible! Nose and mouth at the same time! :)

      Lisette Oropesa it may look strange but it's certainly of great help for those who can't afford a voice trainer or don't even have the possibility of getting in touch with any

  • @tenorjuandediosmateos6173

    Hello! thanks for the video :) I wanted to ask about other sports such as swimming (I've heard it's not good for singers since we use a higher breathing) or weight lifting (not too heavy).
    Also, is it good to run when it's cold? and when it's a big (polluted) city? thank you again :)

    • @LisetteOropesaSoprano
      @LisetteOropesaSoprano  Před 7 lety +6

      Some singers don't like to run in the cold, but I have had absolutely no problems with it. As long as you get inside and warm up and drink a hot beverage afterwards, it is okay. But it does take some getting used to at first.
      As far as swimming, I don't know about it because it's not my sport, however I imagine that any sport that requires strong breath is okay, as long as you can release to sing. The one thing to avoid is becoming tense, which you can get from many sports. This is why a lot of singers don't do pilates, for example, because it strengthens the abdominals in a way that doesn't feel comfortable when singing. I am not against weight lifting! I love it, building strength is important. As long as you breathe during the effort and loosen up afterwards with stretching!
