For years Thailand has maintained that online work is still work and requires a work permit. Irrespective of what visa class you were on. The whole 'no Thai clients' thing proven to be a myth. People have been arrested and deported for this on tourist and elite visas. Its been repeated over and over that youtubers, vloggers, any online work was breaking the law without a work permit.
Now the LTR and DTV visas come along where the specifically encourage you to work, but there is no formal exemption in law or work permit attached. These 2 things do not add up.

There is something that is unclear here: I know that this visa is valid for five years, and you get 6 months on each entry. I also know that i can extend it once for 6 more months in the Kingdom so faa so good. The question is as follows. Can you upon staying 6 months travel to Laos for a border-run and get 6 months more, in stead of using that extention that are talked about on this visa?

Thank you for your question. It was not clear from the Government’s announcement what period of time that must elapse, if any, before you can start your next 6-month stay. That said, it was announced that you can extend for another 6 months for an additional 10,000 THB fee. We think, therefore, it will unlikely that it will be permissible to do a border run at the conclusion of the initial 6 month stay, and return back to the country after a short time outside of Thailand, without going through the extension process and paying the fee.
