- It's finally time for the annual UK narrowboat festival, the Crick Boat Show 2024! This year, as full-time liveaboards, we take our boat to the show and moor up to enjoy the full weekend of tours, friends, and of course, lovely subscribers! But this is a festival in the England, so naturally the weather has plans of its own, and combined with exhaustion, things don't go completely to plan... 😅🎪

Very entertaining and best guide to show boats I've seen. Very much enjoyed the throw cushion rating, well until I realised you were giving points for the amount of throw cushions rather than deducting points. Ian, on a zero throw cushion boat ( well I did have 2 but Bosun the puppy decided we didn't need them)

Really good vlog of the show, lots of interesting things to see and plenty of atmosphere :) Highgrove looked to be a lovely boat. I liked a lot of the other boats but I'm not convinced by having the closed in front bedroom even if it gives you a big bed. There doesn't seem to be a quick and safe way to get to the front of the boat if needed. Lots of the bigger locks on the system need crew to hold bow and stern lines, not just a centre line, to hold the boat in place when the lock operates. We also have to get our dog off the front at times if we can't use the stern. Great idea but seems to have down sides too. Anyway, glad you enjoyed the show, your enthusiasm shone through :)

Your blog the best Crick one, thanks guys. My mum's parents farm had shire horses and they wore polished horse brasses and ribbons plaited in their mane and tail everyday. Loved the tours of boats

We have one too but I absolutely hate walk-through bathrooms and kingsize boats in the cratch.
Ours is king size but in the front.
We have have a pump out because we don’t have to touch anything.
Loved to see you enjoying yourselves in the evenings.
I have Long Covid so I can’t cope with much - you’ve brought Crick to me and I’m very grateful.

I wish we'd seen you at Crick. We moor there but didn't catch up with you. Loved the reviews of the boats; we didn't get onto Lunar as there was such a queue. Ballylooby is moored next to us now the show is over and we can get back to our spot. It's a beautiful colour! Hope we see you next year. Xx PS we're a 2 throw cushion boat 😂 !

Wow what a weekend. Rufus was good staying on his own whilst you were looking around and then coming back to let him out.🎉. What a good weekend you had. Thanks for giving the boat tours, you could see the differences to try to make additional storage space. Don't like the beds right up to the walls either side as it must be awful trying to strip the bed and put on clean bedding. Your idea on your boat is better. Another great video, it was lovely to see Peter frog in his new outfit and his shrimp friend too. Wes was impressed with the towel racks in the bathrooms. We didn't know they were for towels. Our shelves are full of toilet rolls hahahaha

I don’t like the bedrooms that don’t allow access to the bows. Great cushion count, and the dance party was fun. Thank you so much for the time and effort you put into this and put it out so quickly.

Love this Vlog on Crick 2024. Is does not seen a year since Crick 2023.
The boat tours were very interesting, and I like the cushion count of scoring.
What a shame you had some heavy downpours. Good to see Rufus enjoying himself running around as he does.
I'm sure it was deliberate with the editing to see if anyone noticed. I was confused at first?
Amy would be wearing a skirt and top, and the next item on the same day she would have something else on, and this carried on for the 3 days
The edit was not in chronological order! It was good fun spotting it.

We enjoyed meeting you on Friday and then spending time with you and the bears dancing to young Elton . I think Mick spoke to Wes at the dunny and called me "the wife" an Aussie thing. We loved seeing Gregory's Girl and Rufus. You were both so friendly and a truly positive experience. Hope to meet you quietly on the tow path one day. The beds in the narrow boats that you toured at Crick, do they move over so that you can walk through to the bow of the boat?
Not usually, the bow will be fully closed off. Those boats usually sacrifice the bow space for a bigger bedroom/indoor space 😊

Are taxes really high there to make up for insurance, the money is coming from some where.
not really. We wouldn’t know to compare but I know most of us here would rather save the NHS and pay for it via our taxes so if we did need help it’s covered. It also means everyone can have access to healthcare no matter their income 😊
