I remember back during the cold war we used to make Polish jokes when we were young. but when the Polish people rose up against the Soviets, Lech Walsea led teh people into a peaceful rebellion against the Soviet rule that was a major catalyst against their rule over Poland . I got a real admiration for Poland after that I never will make fun of them again . I see Poland as a major strength in Europe against Communism and now Liberalism ( almost as bad as communism )

Here in the US, we fondly refer to Poland as the "European Texas". Most of the pompus, woke, little tin pot, soyboy European militaries get laughed at here in the US. They really tend to be nothing more than ceremonial parade marchers and not of much value in an actual fight, hence the reason the US has over 300,000+ troops stationed in Europe to deal with Russia ourselves. But there are 2 European Countries, whose militaries hold our deepest respect in the US and one is our closest ally, the United Kingdom and the other is Poland aka "European Texas".
There are also Finland (they are better prepared than us), Baltic states (never underestimate them) and Romania, Romania has been cooperating with us for many years, they buy the same equipment as we do (from the US and Korea), and I'm betting that we with Romania would be the first shot if something got out of hand. Besides, let's not kid ourselves, we get along well with you, we share similar values, but in war there are no alliances, there are only interests that are shared or not. If the war in Ukraine spills over into NATO countries, I don't see your country risking a global conflict just to defend (let's be honest) insignificant countries in eastern and central Europe, especially since you have more serious issues with China currently. And there's nothing strange about it, defense in Europe should be on the shoulders of European countries, it's just that Western Europe totally doesn't understand the situation in Eastern and Central Europe and they don't give a shit about it all, besides, looking at, for example, the Germans and their business ties with Russia, I don't even know if it's possible, and France prefers to play around in Africa. First of all, the US itself has proved it does not have the fighting capability. It can fight against weaker people like Iraq and Afghanistan, but there too from the air with no opposition; and even there, the US had to withdraw without success. In Afghanistan, after 20 years the US returned Taliban to power just to get out. And now Iraq trades and moves with Iran, which hates the US for overthrowing the govt. of Mossadegh in 1956 and foisting the Shah on it.
The US cannot fight a superior power like Russia or China. That is why the US refused to send troops to Ukraine. It knows the Russians would massacre the Americans, and all hell would break lose in the US when the bodybags come. The US can fight only through a proxy. Even that strategy is failing in Ukraine, Africa, etc.
Further, the US does not have the military technology to fight Russia and China. In the last 30 years, you developed technology to fight Afghan wedding parties. You are still at the stage of testing hypersonic missiles - four tests have failed. Russia has them, and soon they will put them in their super quiet Yasen submarines that will patrol both east and west coast 24 h a day. China and Korea have hypersonics. The US's defence industry is corrupt and their aim is to make profit, their aim is not to support a national need. There in lies the difference between Russia (or China) and the US. The Russians can produce and innovate while a national war is ongoing. They are number one now in drone and missile technology, with battle tested performance.

With everything going on around us, with people dying every day in a horrid war right across our eastern border and with an authoritarian regime in Belarus launching hybrid attacks at our borders we can't afford to stay put, we can't afford to rely only on our allies strength, on the American army keeping us safe. We have to be as strong as we can on our own first!
I have no love for our current government and I find a LOT of their decisions frankly idiotic and harmful, but this is one of the few fields where they're absolutely right and anyone who says otherwise is delusional and doesn't see a thing of what is going on in the world. We cannot wait another 20-30 years with these investments when the threat is here and now!

while i don't want to see war come to Poland, i must admit that am a little morbidly excited to see Poland in action against Russian and Belarusian forces.
If the Ukrainians are able to give them a bloody lip, then Poland can certainly be relied on to demonstrate exactly what a war with a proper full strength NATO member would look like.
It will be quick and not the way you think. Poland has really poor track record at fighting pretty much anything.

As bad as Poland has been treated by the world 🌎 powers over the years I don’t blame them for being strong. Thousands of Polish officers were executed during WW2. For years the Nazis were to blame. Turns out it was the Russians by order of Stalin that killed them. STAY STRONG!!!!

Yes the Polish Army then was called the second strongest army in Europe (After the French😂😂). But both countries were ruled politically and military by IDIOTS. In 1939 they made an AMAZING military parade in Warsaw. For the good of us all I hope, that the militaries and the politians are better today.

Poland had a bigger army than Nazi who attacked it in 1939, by far. yet they lost in 2 weeks. They also has not put up any fight against Russia at all, because a a lot of poles actually supported communist ideas. They not going to tell you that in history books though.
