@nomad_driver I'm going to say it, you don't have to like it. But it wasn't a few weeks ago. Think about it, John got thrown off a building after 3. That's not the kind of injuries you walk away from. Much less go on a killing spree after. Chances are, the King hid John in some kind of secret (Even from the whole assassin underworld) underground clinic to get him healed up over god knows how long. Realistically, from that degree of damage... would be never.
His take on explaining the Pit Viper was nice. Its like a friend explaining a cool thing while the Store Clerk and Charon have a fancy and calming way of explaining firearms.
I like to think that canonically with the line “I know a guy who knows a guy who SHOT a guy” the guy is Taran Butler who’s trained Keanu and created the Pit Viper.
I love how John’s actually testing the things King says about the gun starting with the fiber optic front sight. Everything king says John immediately tests out such as the flared magwell for faster reloads. And then John immediately starts simulating reloads etc
i went to a shooting range by my house today and they had this. i got to hold and play with it and OH MAN does it feel good. i’m gonna go back next week just to rent it and shoot it

To all the firearm enthusiasts: When he says, “how’d you get this?”, is there a specific reason for that question? I get that the pit viper is a unique handgun but, he uses all kinds of weapons across these 4 films. Why is Laurence Fishburne‘s possession of this gun significant?
In the second and third movies, when John arms himself with some really swanky Taran Tactical guns, it's always in the armory of one of the Continental hotels. It seems as though they have easy access to these kinds of high-end firearms. The Bowery King runs an empire of homeless people and vagrants, and the last time he gave John a gun, it was a factory-stock Kimber 1911 with one mag. Him having the Pit Viper is a step up, and I like to think the person he knows who "shot a guy," shot a Continental assassin and took it from him.
In the context of this movie it's because a Gucci grade weapon that's like not even on the market yet. Does that make sense? It's kind of like getting a new supercar that's only been in production for a week and they're only making 10 of them.
It's not in the market yet, it was made for this movie. So, the idea is that he knew it existed, but didn't know if somebody could get their hands on it.

well, the Pit Viper has a sharpened frame, the frame part that's at the end of the muzzle is sharpened. So, that is exactly what he meant...
