Great news article about this ship! They even used this video in the article! Check it out here: www.cleveland.com/news/2024/06/great-lakes-freighter-with-cle-ties-lands-in-duluth-minnesota-after-possible-final-voyage.html
Wow Mike, big time recognition for your videos!!!! That is AWESOME to see!!! What is next, a Pulitzer Prize?? Congrats man!!!!!
@chucke4294 I’ve seen a few news channels add my videos, which is pretty cool. I haven’t posted any of those, but I thought it was worth posting this one because it’s specific to this video.
Who knew that a ship could drag so many people worldwide through the process of the five stages of grief. As we cherish the memories, we will have to wait for the process of inspection to complete and then we will know the next chapter for the Michipicoten. Most importantly, ole Michi took care of her crew like she always does. Such a fitting video tribute for the love that surrounds the Michipicoten. Thank you Mike.
It really shows importance of these ships worldwide
It’s also why preserving a few as museum boats is a must. So the future generations can see where we have been and where we are going
I really love the comment by Sky, and where this is going with the comments after. I’m pinning this comment to the very top so we can keep it moving.👍⛴️
Wouldn’t the old lady make a great museum at one of the ports? Always fun for families.
@IamValentina66 I hope we don’t see it in a museum for a long time
I hope this is not the last time we hear the captain's salute from Michipicoten. Such a beautiful vessel.
I had to be here just in case it was Gary
@@vibewithmike remember the Algoma transport just 11 days ago her stacks were removed and her pilot house gone her mid section and now still intact

Dylan
@ILikeGT_101 👍⛴️
I'm glad they got the old girl safely in Port with her crew.
It was cool hearing that crowd clap for the ship.
Bitter sweet vid....and we're all grateful for the safe return of the ship and her crew. In an age where we see captains take all sorts of precautions, it never should be taken for granted the dangers of being at sea. Now we can only hope that this vessel will be able to be repaired and returned to service.
Dan, if you think about it, this crew is very brave to still be sailing on the ship with a temporarily repaired crack in it
@@vibewithmikeThat is exactly what I thought! Thanks for the great video Mike! So many wonderful details to enjoy of this historic moment. So glad they arrived safely!
@LoriLeaPouttu Lori, what did you think about how cool that crowd was to clap and cheer! It’s so cool
The most impressive moonlight parade, I have ever seen, bar none of the welcome given to the beloved Michipicoten and her guardian angel Helen h. She glided into the canal with dignity, majesty, and almost a sense of purpose.Nice to see some of her fans out cheering and applauding at 2300. The moon lending respect to the jubilant procession. Old? Sure doesnt show, I haveseen as much wear and tear on much newer and much less impressive ships. I chose to think, with the shortage of vessels she will be repaired and returned to th Great Lakes to continue for a time her lifes mission. She has a new motor and though damaged, steel can be replaced. A whole able ship cannot. Gods speed Michipicoten.❤
There’s nothing more thrilling and exciting than recording this vessel. There was almost a tear that came to my eye as it went by.
I did the tears for you Mike. .from watching shows from Duluth and Saute san Marie I feel really attached to the ships.
@bettygilmore611 I’ve said it before, Betty, being attached to the ships is amazing. They really do feel like our brothers or sisters, we know so many things about them, and they truly are unique, even though they look similar.
Never did I imagine to hear the name of the bay, where I was born and raised , to be mentioned so many times in a video !
It is on one of the most beautiful scenes on the big lake , which has so many incredible places to visit.
If you are going by Wawa, take the time to drive out to the harbour , past the Mission, and stop an Sandy beach, a public stretch of sand some of the finest in the world, with a view to match.
Thank you for posting and everyone who comments !
I’m glad that you took some time to watch this video. It’s amazing to see how many people come out and really care about this ship. It really makes me so happy and so many others happy as well. The love people have for ships is great.
Me, too! Brought tears to my eyes, I guess it's time for a visit!
@Nancy-nl1vg it’s amazing how a ship can bring out emotions in us. However, they do, and they always will. The reason, I think because vessels are very majestic, and they carry people that sacrifice time with family and other things to do a very respected job. I hope you subscribe (it’s free) and come back to channel to watch more ship videos moving forward. It’s all about having fun with the ships!👍👍👍⛴️⛴️⛴️
Mike, three ships in one video? Fantastic. Absolutely fantastic.
Always nice seeing a comment from you
So glad to see how many folks turned out to welcome the Michipicoten and her crew back to Duluth. Thanks for being out there!
Thanks a ton for your comment Kelly
Thank you Mike! We are fortunate to have you catch all the great moments and in this one, possibly a bit of history. Fingers crossed that the Michipicoten will just need repairs and her and her crew will be back on the lakes soon! Loved how classy the people of Duluth are to give a loud round of applause in respect and appreciation of a great ship and crew! Made me clap and whoop it up myself from my living room.
It was a pure joy for me to be able to record this possible final voyage of this ship
Me too! I was pretty moved by the whole thing.
I couldn't have said it better than @ironmule5200, and I'm adding my own wishes that this wonderful ship is repaired and out on the lakes again soon!
Lisa! Thanks pal!
@TheGail7777 Iron really provider an impactful comment!
What an Outstanding Video by Mike, as well as the Comments from all the Boat Lovers!!! Gave me Goose Bumps and Teary Eyes!! My Hat off to the Crew of the Ship!! I'm sure hoping Mike gets to Film Michipicoten leaving Port on another one of her Great Lakes Missions and we will see her back soon with another load!!! Thanks Mike!!!! 🤗❤️👍🙋🏻♀️
I’m so happy that you enjoyed it! All the best to you. You really care about this channel and the ships I can tell.

Hi Kim. Welcome to this channel. I too love things that fly. But there is something very special about the ships for me.@@kimfrommn7162
@@chuckg6039 Chuck, HI! Thanks for the Welcome to the Channel !!! But...I have been here for awhile!! You texted me, I believe Mikes last Video!!! The Title had a Tornado Watch during the Departure!!! I believe you have/had a Career involving Ships!! I had a Career involving Airplanes!! So I understand you preferring a Ship over an Airplane, and now you see why I prefer an Airplane over a Ship!! 🤣 I enjoy reading your comments on Mikes Channel!!! I hope you are having a Great Week!!! 👍🙋🏻♀️
I gotta tell ya. I'm an aircraft accident Investigor. Aviation is my life. So I'm thinkin' as I tune into this CZcams channel...WTH is this nonsense? Standing alone a channel to watch boats come and go and...
...uh, oh.
Than i frickin' realized...
I'm hooked!
Damn it!
I'm hooked. I'll never get anything done now! Better call in sick for tonights inspections. I need to research everything going on of and about this ship!
This is such a fun comment! I love how you describe the progression of thoughts in this one. First off, you have one of the most interesting careers a person could have. Also, a very serious and challenging career as well. It’s important for people like you to make sure things are done right, and the truth is uncovered. You definitely are a valuable asset for all of us Boat friends to chat with. Even though you’re focus is aviation, it’s still the same approach as far as thought process. Thank you for taking time out of your day to watch the video! This is one of the coolest comments I’ve read. I really respect you a lot. Thank you. Subscribe and come back my friend!
Hi and welcome to the channel. I fully echo Mike's comments. I hope you stop by again and again. Feel free to ask questions and provide us anything of interest. That's how we all learn.
A huge welcome to flight forensics! I really like his approach and how he structured his comment. The line
I am cheering too. So happy to see her. Her fleemate the Manitoulin went to Thunder Bay to take her load. Her AIS said "were coming Michi". Brought a tear to my eye.
I hope it’s not the last time we see this ship
@@vibewithmike We'll see her leave Fraser at some point. I just hope she leaves enroute to one of the ore loading docks in the Twin Ports!
@chuckg6039 I hope it gets fixed, but the lawyers might get involved and say there’s too much liability. We will see.
Or the penny pinchers will say that she is done.
I have tears of relief and joy. A beautiful video and wonderful tribute to the crew of both the ship and the tug. So glad the crowd along the canal cheered warm greetings to the dear Michipicoten.
The crowd was so cool to do that
Hope she becomes sweet and clean everything fixed very nice looking ship. Thanks for the show From New York
There’s a lot of really good people that work on these ships. I hope they’re able to fix it. Really savvy when it comes to repairing.
I got a kick out of that ocean going ship on his way out in a hurry thanks for another great video Mike.
I knew that ship would surprise you. And I also threw the Ryerson in.
I love this ship. I hope they repair her, but I’m betting she gets scrapped. Thank you for the video Mike. 💙⛴️💙
It’s an absolutely gorgeous old-school laker
First....thanks so much Mike for producing this fine video. Not only was the content excellent, but also was the picture and sound quality. I'm trying my best to remain positive about the fate of this classic laker. That is not easy to do considering the situation.
That summary/timeline of events was nice. One other noteworthy event was when the sister ship Manitoulin picked up her load of taconite pellets while docked at the Keefer Terminal in Thunder Bay. This cargo was then delivered to the Algoma Steel Mill in Saut Saint Marie, Canada. This happened during the weekend of June 15.
Boy was the salty flying out of the canal. Just about as quick of a departure I've ever watched! No doubt not wanting to hold up the Michipicoten arrival.
And if you look closely at the current light at 5:15, it appears to have changed from amber to green. Kind of interesting.
Again, thanks Mike for doing this video. And staying with coverage to give the tug Helen H the credit her crew deserves. You did a marvelous job documenting possibly her last arrival. She is called the Soo Express because of her many, many trips back and forth from Duluth to the Algoma Steel Mill. The Michipicoten is probably the most frequent visitor to the Twin Ports in the last few years. So easy to take her for granted. This just goes to show you that each and every ship needs to be appreciated....because you just never know.
I would not miss this for the world. I wanted to see the ship if it indeed was the last time it would arrive. So many new stories covered, and now I was able to see it at the very end of its journey.
If it's safe and the Michipicoten can be repaired for service, I sure would like to see it gliding through under the Aerial Life Bridge for years to come. So grateful that she was spared a greater tragedy. I marvel that the crew on board and the crews that came to her rescue from USA and Canada get to go home to their families. Thanks for posting Mike!
I definitely hope this ship gets repaired
Thank you, Mike! Michipicoten is one of my favorites. I hope she can be saved.
I’m super thrilled that this made it to your favorites list! It was very exciting recording this ship
There is a good chance she can be repaired. It's probably going to take a lot of welding, though.
@herbb8547 I hope we see it again
Too bad there isn't a love button to click on. Love these videos. I was watching this video with gladness to see captain and crew alive and safe, and with sadness realizing what may possibly have been the Michipicoten's last journey.
This comment is a 10 out of 10! There is straight love with this channel. We all really care about each other. We have so much in common. What a great comment.
We love you Michipicoten!! Godspeed!!! Thank you Mike.
Trust me, I’ll do the first video if it goes back out on the lake. I hope I get to do it. I love that ship. I see you sometimes in Duluth Harbor cams, I know that you love the ships. All the best to you, my friend. Much respect for dropping a comment for me.

I happened to catch her return on the Duluth camera and saw the Boat Friends beacon so I knew you would have a great video for us! It was wonderful to hear the people cheering as she came through the canal.

Awesome video, Mike! I loved seeing the full moon behind the ship. So beautiful! I also loved you going out on your boat the next day and seeing things up close. Thanks again.
It was almost like the moon was there for the ship
Really a remarkable moment, Mike. This is really a great video and already one of my favourite ones. What a great ship she is. It is beautiful to see how much people do care and partecipate and how everyone cheered her entrance into the safe harbour of Duluth. Looked like a lovely evening. People strolling around, getting rid of the heavy jackets, enjoying a lovely evening on the piers, waiting for a beautiful summer… thanks, Mike. This document is beautiful. Whatever the fate of Michipicoten will be, she deserves the upmost respect. I hope she will sail again though. Have a great day, Captain! 🇺🇸🇮🇹⛴️🌊⛰️
I hope you’re doing great in Italy today! There’s nothing like thinking about a friend that loves ships that lives in the Alps! That’s so cool. I told you someday, I will get out there, I’ll find something on water to record.🤣👍⛴️🇮🇹

Thank you mike! Such a calm moonlit night for this arrival of a wounded ship and its escort tug! We are so blessed to see it coming through the canal into dry dock! Have a fantastic Friday night, my Boat friend
So, back in September of 2018 I was in Duluth with the love of my life, and we were on the North pier and went and looked at the lighthouse. On our way from the lighthouse, there was a guy leaning up against the fence/gate, and he was playing his own version of a song I knew but even though the melody was wrong I picked up on the lyrics, at which time I (loudly) broke into the real song. She was positively shrieking and the look on the guy's face was beyond priceless. It really was one of my favorite moments in all my years. Then shortly afterward, she fell very ill and passed. That night on that pier was one of our last. I got to love her for 32 years. Anyway, any time I see any footage of Canal Park, I stop whatever it is I am doing and relive that moment as best as I can.
The song was "Story of my Life" by Social Distortion. I really like that song.
I know that song. Check this video out that I posted a few hours ago. czcams.com/video/_tnIezrKvRI/video.htmlsi=J1jxCK81okcD-Kh6
She is a beautiful ship thanks for sharing
Old-school Laker ship
Mike, just another awesome video from you, what can I say from myself and many others? A million thank you's. As I was watching the people come in to view I was wondering how many are there as tourists and how many, like you, know all what goes on with these ships as they traverse the canal and waterways day after day. The thing I love about what you do is a great job of videoing and speaking as the events happen, you are there for those of us who can't be but want to be. I know sometimes people live vicariously through others, and as you are there and speaking it is as if I, and I'm sure many others, feel as if we are right there with you, so realistic to being there. As you know the Michipicoten and freighters like it are my favorites, I do hope they can repair this ship and it continues on. One other thing also fascinating was the different lights on it as it went by. Thank you for being there for us! One last comment, I also appreciate the extra lengths you go to, many will just cam the canal, but you my friend once again went further than that for us, perhaps we may see some follow up as time goes on? Thanks again.
1 million thanks back to you as well Timothy! It’s people that have the same passion as you that love these ships and we keep the story going no matter what

I have to admit I teared up a little watching her come tnto port, escorted like the Queen of the Lake. Whatever the outcome, this great vessel will have a special place in the hearts of all the Boat Friends. Thanks, Mike, for a great moment in Duluth.❤
So many of us were captivated by this ship and it truly is emotional. When I was done, recording the video on my way home I really thought about it hard. I felt bad, sad, many different emotions because of what was going on with the ship. However, seeing the people cheer along the pier really made me happy knowing the crew got to see that.
That ship is gonna need some major work. As I am a welder and was also a ship yard welder here in Thunder Bay . It’s lucky it didn’t become the most recent ship lost to the waters of the mightiest freshwater shipping lake in the world , Lake Superior . Glad you are all so happy to see it back there after we fixed it up to make its trip back 😉
Thank you for the comment. Being that you are a welder, you have all of my respect! A hard worker that builds things! Thank you for what you do. Did you see this fog ship video tonight? czcams.com/video/_tnIezrKvRI/video.htmlsi=4SkwUX-WkZvUzjoL

Being able to show the dry dock with something unique and fun. I was able to show it from the water, which is different. It really allowed me to tell the full ship story for you.

This was fantastic, Mike. Thanks Mike, for another great video coverage of a magnificent Great Lakes Freighter. That old girl isn't as old as I am but undoubtedly she's a wee bit stresses and tired. Hopefully she'll be worthy of repair and thereafter continue plying the water of the Great Lakes. I've spotter her often on the numerous live cams that cover various waterways of the Great Lakes.
Kenny, thanks for the comment on a Saturday friend. I’ve seen this vessel so many times and I really hope we get to see it many many more times to come after it gets fixed. However, I’m no expert and a lot of people are concerned that this might be the last time we ever see it hauling cargo.👍⛴️

Hey Mike and all the Global Boat Friend Nation, from a cool, windy and rainy Bismarck. Missed the live show, and what a show it was as the injured Michipicoten coming back to Duluth for what could very well be the last time. This vessel is 72 years old, the same as me, and has been a workhorse on the Big Lake for all these years. I would venture to say this vessel probably has some sort of record for round trips to Michigan or thereabouts every season. This is a small ship as Lakers go, even after being stretched out years ago. The thing that kept her relavant was when it was converted to a self unloader and that meant it was a lot easier to unload thus making it able to make the rapid turnarounds. But age does factor in, as well as the shear number of loads it has carried. The iron and steel is like I say 72 years old, and that metal being that old does get brittle, and subject to cracking as was seen here. It was lucky this happened in calm seas, rather than a severe storm or we may have had a Fitzgerald type incident very easily. I think the popular sentiment would be to see her get repaired and back in service, but in all reality the price to fix well enough to pass muster will most likely be far too much to make it work. Interesting to see the Rierson tied up close makes you wonder why someone would not spend money and fix that vessel to get it back on the Lake again. If the Michipicoten not able to be repaired, it is only fitting she rests here in Duluth where she made so many safe voyages in the past, and her remains can be recycled into another Great Lake Vessel and sail again. She was able to keep the crew safe, as she has done so many times in the past, a great Legacy in its own right if that is what is to be…….. Michipicoten, you will be remembered and never forgotten………….
Boat friends, I’m when I say I need to copy down all of the posts that come from Chucke, he put time into it and it’s always fun to read. We could make an ultimate book from this. I wonder what the title of the book would be?

I’ll cross my fingers as well, maybe double power on those fingers will make a difference! Initially, they said it ran into something, but that’s not the case. I hope they can repair it. I really want to see it again like you do.
Good one Mighty Mike. I saw the old girl unloading limestone at the Brennan Street dock on the Rouge River on May 11th of this year of our Lord 2024. Just after dark she was assisted back out into the Detroit River by the Great Lake tug Pennsylvania. So thankful Lake Gitche Gumee wasn't cutting up at the time she was out there. She has worked hard for seventy years. Whew! Best wishes for her and the Roger Blough. Be safe out there guys. ❤
I like that, mighty Mike! That sounds so cool
Fantastic video! So glad you filmed it and are keeping us up to date!
I’m super glad you enjoyed it, I had to give you the final portion of the story as it arrived Duluth
Great work Mike. I was in Thunder Bay when this story broke. Day I flew out I got an aerial shot of Michipicoten at Keefer Terminal. Quite a story and just glad all are safe. When I lived in T-Bay was always great to see Michipicoten and sister ships at the elevators near my old house.
Very interesting. It had to be a huge surprise when you heard the news and you were right there. It really took over the world from the perspective of people that love ships and others that don’t know much about the ships. There have been times that I passed on recording this vessel because it comes into Duluth so often. Now, I hope I get to see it again and record it many more times.
Welcome back old girl! She looks as pretty as ever!
Smitty! Excellent comment! So many of us feel the exact same! I hope someday I’m able to record a video of it repaired and going back out. That would be so unbelievably cool.
You’ve done another great job in capturing this somewhat sad moment in maritime history, thank you, Mike.
This ship is almost as old as I am and hopefully we both have a number of years to go.
Let’s hope the extent of the damage isn’t that bad so she can sail on.
Ron
Absolutely, here’s too many many more years for you and the ship. If I hear any type of update, Ron, I will let you know man.
Thanks for this video! I have this unfortunate feeling it could be "another one bites the dust" for this classic laker 😮💨
I have a feeling this could be the last time we do see the vessel.
Great perspective I have not seen a ship go dry dock before
I knew it would provide a totally different perspective being able to see the final dock where it’s at. And they were even pumping the water out for the dry dock of the ship in this video.
Thanks Mike. Watching this and the Munson going out and Burns Harbor coming in at the same time lol another great video Mike and hope you have great weekend
I’m glad that you enjoyed the video. It was really fun to produce it.
@vibewithmike always enjoy your videos cause they are the best 👍
@jeffjohnson5810 👍⛴️
Hey boat friend thanks nice skyline missed it live beautiful video Mike
I’m glad you were able to catch up and check out the video. It was really interesting watching this courageous crew sail this vessel back to Duluth with a big crack still in the Hull.
I love the ship videos you do at night 😍 The moon adds a nice touch while this beautiful ship rolls in. ❤
I’m glad that you were able to watch this ship video!
GOD BLESS A SAILOR. I feel like they will fix this ole Great Lakes worrier. It is probably way cheaper to fix her and not loose that much tonnage. She is an old war horse for sure! Built in 1952 you say Mike? She has paid for herself 100 times over. I’m in Mississippi and my love of big ships started in 1980 while working with a seismic survey company in The Gulf of Mexico. Just seeing such massive ocean going super tankers and freighters and container ships, awe inspiring is all I can say! When your on a 125’ to 200’ supply boat and it is dwarfed by such huge ships you can only be fascinated. Thank you so much for making these videos, I accidentally ran across one on my page and it just happened to be a video you made about the Paul R. Yep, Mike, you threw the bait out there in the form of your video that you snagged me, and you SET THE HOOK AND THEN REELED ME IN! Now you have me watching Great Lakes freighter videos every night! You evil dastardly big boat video man! 😂 Again thank YOU for the giving of your time in making these videos! Living fairly close to Memphis, Tn and Greenville, Ms I should and would love to make you a couple of videos of some, what I call "super push boats and super tugs" pushing huge barges laden with huge amounts of freight, from crushed rock to wheat and soy beans and corn and everything in between.
I enjoyed reading your comment Robert. Hope you stop back often.
@chuckg6039 absolutely, great hearing from Robert
Robert, what an unbelievably cool comment. You put some time into this. All of us both friends love watching ship videos, but comments like this really make it count. You did a great job. Please come back more and more and more.
Great job covering this historic moment. Also, great to meet you in person in the canal the other evening! Keep up the great work, Mike!
It was an honor being able to record this ship, possibly arriving for the last time. Most importantly, it was the final part of the story regarding the ship that we have been following for the last two weeks. It was wonderful seeing it arrive safely in Duluth.
She’s so beautiful, it’s sad if they have to scrap her.😢
Fingers crossed she makes it!
Thanks @Vibe with Mike!
Pari! Here’s my good friend! I hope you’re doing well. People you can catch her as a moderator on this awesome CZcams channel. m.czcams.com/video/U6-IMHRLy2c/video.html
@@vibewithmike thanks my dear friend!!

Thank you, Mike, for your video of our "dear Michi" arriving at Duluth, MN. We appreciated the additional information on both tug boats and the views of the ship the following day at the drydock.
Hey pal! Thank you for taking time to leave a comment. This vessel has captivated the world over the last couple weeks and it was a true honor and privilege to be able to record this ship coming in with a cracked hull, and it made it safe.
What a relief to see her, and her crew, safely in Duluth.
A great welcome for Michipicoten, and Helen H!
Thanks for bringing us along!
Anne, I really appreciate you checking out the video on a Sunday night. Thank you for being part of the Boat friends community. The thing I really appreciate, not only did you watch the video but you did take that extra few minutes to compose a comment. It’s very nice that you have these feelings towards the crew. All the best to you on your week ahead, my friend.
Great video, Mike! That sure was special seeing her sail in, after the scary situation she survived. My eyes got a little wet upon hearing her salute.
I think all of us got emotional with this one. The story captivated the world. it was nice seeing the ship arrive safely. Thanks for being part of this channel Chad. Your comments mean a lot, brother.
Mike thank you for sharing. Love watching your videos of the boats by Duluth.
I really appreciate you watching this on a Sunday my friend. All the best to you and yours.
So glad she arrived back safely back to Duluth. Happy she is in dry dock, hopefully she will be repaired. My thoughts are with the ship and her crew. 🙏
It really made me happy to hear the crowd, clapping and sharing for this ship and crew! They deserve it. It’s the ships that help the world turn from a commerce standpoint, and this is one of those major ships helping.
Great video. Glad she and the crew all made it home safely. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for the comment. Absolutely, I’m so happy the crew made it. We all are praying that the ship gets back out on the lake.
Wish I could be there Mike to witness to follow this grand old ship enter Duluth Harbor. I'm going to hope that she is deemed fixable. This is truly a historical moment and because of you we are all able to witness it. Excellent historical listing of events of the Michipicoten's hull damage. Such a beautiful Old School Laker... so sad watching her come in through the canal. When those people started appluading and that Grand old ship gave out with her Captains salute I lost it and started crying. Thanks so much Mike for recording that. I salute you Michipicoten and all its Captains & Crews through the years.
I was wondering when our friend Ken was going to drop a comment, there is!👍👍👍⛴️⛴️⛴️
Well said Ken!
@carllafrance5510 👍⛴️
Thank you for this video. I can't recall if I've ever seen this particular ship in person, but they're all so beautiful and it's great that this story ended happily for the captain and crew. On a side note, it was amusing to see everyone wearing hoodies and sweatshirts, which nobody down in my neck is the woods was doing Thursday night, I can tell you that for certain!
The big difference is being right next to Lake superior. You can be less than a mile away on top of the hill and it’s a 20° increase in temperature. If you’re down that the lakes superior it can be 70° up on the hill and it can be 50° down next to the lake.
Thanks Mike👍
👍👍👍⛴️⛴️⛴️⛴️⛴️
I watched it come in live - on Duluth Harbour Cam - and saw the blue light - so excited when I saw it
I’m really glad that you enjoyed the video. It really really was a historic moment for Duluth. We have been monitoring this new story about the ship for two weeks now. It was really good to see it arrive safely.
@@vibewithmike I sent you a message on the PRT video about the Michi. The difference between you and others is the commentary and the look at the Michi in the morning - the extras we get by watcing you - even before the partnership with ASC makes this channel stand out. In other words - Well Done Mike
@clarewilliams5907 it’s all about those extras! Well recording this ship last night I was really focused on being able to show you the final resting spot over at Fraser this morning and I was able to do it
@@vibewithmike and we love it
@clarewilliams5907 👍⛴️
Thank you for the video and commentary. Like others I hope that the Michipicoten can be repaired & give many more years of service to the USA.
Thanks Earl, I hope that this ship has so many more years of service as well
I'm so pleased the Michipicoten made it into dry dock I know you'll keep us updated on her outcome the Michipicoten is a old lady of the lakes but I'm sure she has a few more year's left in her and the best part of this she's a year older than I am and I have lot's of life left in me hahaha, thank's Mike for this great video.
It was a true pleasure being out there, recording the ship and being able to show the very last part of the story before we find out what the conclusion is on this vessel
Got to see your video Friday evening! I sure hope she will be able to be repaired. I love these old school vessels. Thanks for sharing! Have a good evening and weekend. It is stormy here in Michigan!
I hope I get to do a live stream of this ship as it goes back out in the lake looking for another load
Great video!! Thanks for bring us along on a boat ride.
Mike, I’m glad that you enjoyed it, I hope you come back for some more ship videos, brother
Great Job Mike!
Thank you, friend, thank you for taking time to leave that comment. It’s extra time and you did it.
Thanks so much for this video Mike, I sure hope they can repair it, that pic I sent you was taken May 15 th, I wS shooting into the sun so lighting was terrible so I post edited a clouded ghost effect to it which almost seems erie now considering what has happened.
Duane! We all appreciate you sending in the photo of the ship. It really made for a different view of the ship that we we haven’t seen. I thought it looked so cool the border that you put around it. I had to include it. Thank you on behalf of all of the Boat Friends! We really appreciate you and the photo you provided of this beautiful ship in the video.👍⛴️
Would be an interesting video to tour the dry dock and show how a vessel this big is supported in dry dock.
I think it was cool to see the water discharging so the ship could go to dry dock
Great flick….as always.
I love that you called this a flick! I kind of feel like a producer when you say that
I’m from Port Dover where Lower Lakes is partially based out of and know many guys I grew up with served on their ships! I work at Arcelormittal in Hamilton and watch a lot of these ships come and go from Duluth on a regular basis from the crane I work in! So grateful everyone is ok and she stayed afloat! And to see our American neighbours and ship enthusiasts appreciate and clap for their safety! 🙏 To all the men and women serving on these massive beauties…. Stay safe 💙 So happy you are all safe and hopefully we’ll see her sailing again in the near future!
What a wonderful and heartfelt comment my friend. You made my day. Thanks for taking time to share.
Jason, I want to underscore Chuck’s point below. What a pleasure receiving your comment. You are definitely the type of friend all of us want on this channel. I hope you subscribe and keep coming back. Happy Sunday.
Thanks guys! I’m another one of the ship enthusiasts that chases these things around to see them. And from where I work I get to watch them come and go from the Hamilton harbour every day I’m here! As a kid being from Port Dover they would sit in the Long Point bay a lot so I’ve been around it my whole life! When you grow up in port towns it’s just part of your dna…. Keep up the great videos and I’ll continue to follow! 😁🙏
@Shipchasers it’s an absolute pleasure. Meeting you! Thanks for taking the time to say hello. Looking forward to chatting again.
