Kokushibou has made his first appearace in the anime which was very brief, you didn't read the manga, saw a video about Kokushibous strength (a character with little to no feats in the anime), clicked on it without expecting to get spoiled, were spoiled and are now complaining about others not holding your hand instead of asking yourself why you didn't use your brain? Kokushibu was so powerful that he never fought with his full strength for over 400 years and still maintained his rank as Upper Moon 1 for over 400 years. Kokushibu never went 100% in full power until the final moments in the battle against the 3 Strongest Hashiras/Genya and when he saw what he’d became (an ugly monster), He stopped fighting and couldn’t regenerate anymore.

Actually, he started failing to regenerate first then he gave up. So I think the hashiras would have still won even if kokushibo wanted to continue fighting.

Not true, he was failing to regenerate and that was his doom. The internal struggle was just a touch of character development before he is gone for good.

I like the fact that the upper rank demons are more a force of nature rather than people. It taking so much effort to just kill one of them, reminds us that these things are hundreds of years old and have powers so great that a normal human has no chance of reaching those heights
nope, just poor scaling of strength on the writer's part, how come people get annoyed at overpowered cliche mc's, but its perfectly fine to make the enemy overpowered? makes anime so boring when you know who is gonna win in the end, its so predictable.
did you not read my comment? we're talking about OVERPOWERED not just stronger. having OVERPOWERED antagonists means that the protagonists attempts are all for naught when not even the strongest antagonist can dogwalk the 3 strongest protagonists 3 v 1. it isn't entertaining in the slightest, in fact the only reason im still watching this anime is because of the god tier animators behind it.

Uppers 3-1 need an army of hashiras if they were to fight at 100% power
Something I like about demon slayer is that no human can defeat the demons easily, they need teamwork and help and they struggle cause ofc demons are way stronger and regenerate and are unnatural monsters. So I don’t think it was a mistake by the author but something intentional, cause is because of that teamwork that all the connections between the characters are meaningful and when one dies it hurts not only because they all care for one and other but because a great part of their team fighting strength goes with themthem

I think that he rivals Muzan in power maybe not in his prime when he fought Yourichi but definitely during the events of the series when muzan is weaker and somewhat starved

Tengen I believe is underated he was poisoned, protecting others, and fighting 2 on one most of the time. I believe he might be a sleeper. Though we will never know....

Hear me out, what if kokushibo discovered tanjiro before the spider mountain arch? My idea is that kokushibo discovers tanjiro and is thrilled to find a sun breather, he gives him some basics on sun breathing in the hopes that one day tanjiro will grow into another Yorichi. That way in the spider arch sun breathing doesn’t just come outta nowhere, tanjiro realizes kokushibo’s movements are very similar to his father’s so he makes the connection and tries it.
This wouldn’t be a caring relationship, this would be like kokushibo fattening up a pig for the slaughter. During the infinity castle arch you could have kokushibo frantically looking for tanjiro in the hopes that someone doesn’t kill him first, toss Akaza into the mix where he somehow hears about this plan and is also very excited to find this worthy warrior.

The Muzan comment is something I’m actually going to disagree with, we’ve seen other Demons break away from Muzan’s control. Kokushibo most definitely could. Also ALL his strength doesn’t come from Muzan he still utilizes the see through world and Breathing techniques. I don’t think he’d beat Muzan, but he would most definitely put up a good fight possibly be able to fight Muzan until sunrise and they both die.
I agree with this. I BELIEVE not know for a fact that muzan considers KoKo a business partner rather than an outright servant like the other demons. Too me that makes sense too. Knowing he was yoricihis older brother would definitely have placed fear and respect for him in muzans mind and also would make him a truly valuable asset. I really don't think muzan would have considered a death battle with him wise or something he would come out of unscathed. But yeah do I think muzan wins absolutely.
This just isn’t true, the only reason some people broke away from muzan control is because during Muzans fight with yoriichi when he was split in to several thousand pieces demons could break away from how damaged he was. Which was the case for tamayo

Kokushibu does have breathing techniques and does use the see through world, Tomayo and Nezuko are special exceptions to Muzans control. With that information in mind it’s plausible that Kokushibo is another special exception. But hey Kokushibo was turned right before Muzan’s defeat too with that in mind your theory would be correct as well.
People forget that the Demons can’t fight him. He can literally control the cells in your body. Just like when he scolded Akaza. He could stop Kokushibo by controlling his cells.

I don't think it will change anything but there is a feat for the former hashira that you missed. They survived long enough to grow old. Really underrated
Nope. An upper moon hasnt been killed in 113 years since Gyutaro and daki were killed. Most likely means that any Hashira that was seen fighting an upper moon has died. Which easily means any living former hashira just didnt encounter an upper moon. Lower moons sure but theres also another way to become a hashira, kill 50 demons.
I wouldnt say he could one shot gyomei. Even without the mark he briefly could put up a good fight but every other hashira I agree.
I mean if kokushibo is using the long sword and gyomei is not marked idk if gyomei would or wouldn’t get one shot but he definitely could
At the very least, Gyomei could hold Kokushibo off for quite some time due to his endurance but yes, would ultimately lose.
I’m now realizing that Nakime is not actually an Upper Moon but a really useful demon

When you accidentally make your antagonists so overpowered that two of the four mains have to have a change of heart to let the protagonists win. That's how you know the writer was in a rush to just end it.

When a villain is so strong that even the 2 strongest people of the “hero organization” couldn’t even beat him so they had to take the change of heart route just to kill him.
I personally think the 3 strongest hashira faced Koku. It just showed us the levels between the Hashira even more.
For those that wanna say Iguro as 3, all his feats were against a Muzan who had stage 10 cancer & couldn’t lift his arms at one point. Not to mention Mitsuri & Iguro were the only 2 hashira to come into the fight 100% , so it’d only make sense he’d outlast the others…
I think the reason people put Iguro so high is because of the weight the author put on see through world ability. The only characters in the series to attain it is the obvious op Yorichi, Tanjiro, tanjiro’s dad, Gyomei, Kokushibo, Tokito and Iguro. Tokito was already too injured by the time he got it to do much with it, but was able to hold his sword in Koku with red blade technique powerful enough to bother him. So yeah, that’s a short list. I think Gyomei, Giyu and Sanemi are top3, but I also think Gyomei is the only one of the 3 who is undoubtedly top 3 without argument. Iguro has a case due to intention of the author.
Idk why people put muchiro so high. He’s a prodigy yea , but that’s it, he’s still too young and inexperienced. It’s the same as hitsugiya from bleach. Strong young prodigy but far from top of the list.

Well they can take over the world but even that wouldn't work in long shot because of their weakness to sun and they also need nourishment. For muzan the only true way to rule the world is to get rid of his only weakness.
Well Daki and Gyutaro have their own web of information through the red districts, thing is the demon slayers dont often comes around, Gyokko litteraly carries Muzans wallet so he cant be too far from Myzan at anytime.

That leaves Akaza Muzan's dog, likely always on standby for any urgency.

Being a Samurai and fighting with a sword with skill is the very reason of Kokushibo's existence.
The moment he started fighting like a demon by growing blades out of his body and deforming into a monster, his very identity fell apart and couldn't contain his existence anymore since his demon body was literally built on that premises, thus losing the fight rather than committing suicide.

It’s interesting how it’s misinterpreted that koku “had a change of heart” he wavered for a moment before he attempted to regenerate and use his techniques again. But realized he couldn’t and was actively disintegrating. Idk just weird how everyone thinks he gave up when all he did was waved for a few moments
Tanjiro was only 16 when he fought muzan for an HOUR AND A HALF until dawn. Even factoring in the poison and hax agianst muzan its still amazing.
Keep in mind tanjiro was EXHASUTED from his fight with kokushibo. Give tanjiro 5 or six years to age to his prime and give him fresh stamina and I think he could take UM1 especially that he has the STW and completed sun breathing in those six years
All things considered I'd actually put him above Muzan only losing due to the blood demon art killing him
Meaning if he broke curse he could possibly beat Muzan
Note that Kokushibo's sword is not a nichirin sword - it's made from his flesh.
So, he can't kill demons like demon slayers do. He has to use the more typical methods for demons to kill another demon.

I think if we're only talking about individual attacks, Kokushibou is faster than white haired Muzan, considering he was able to constantly unleash his breathing forms without giving the Hashiras a chance to even retaliate, meanwhile the Hashiras were able to react more easily against Muzan's attacks.
However, white haired Muzan has a lot of limbs, so while he may lose in terms of pure hit speed, he can make up for it terms of the number of attacks he can perform with his numerous limbs. Kokushibou would definitely still lose to Muzan, but unless Muzan pulls up his cell destruction button, the fight wouldn't be a stomp.
The upper 3 are on a different level
Personally I think that Doma would put up a good fight against Kokushibo just because of how OP Doma's Hoarfrost Waterlily Bodhisattva is. He can just repeatedly freeze Kokushibo's lungs which would disable his Moon Breathing, but that would be the case assuming that Kokushibo's regenrative capabilites aren't strong enough to negate the damage done by Doma's blood demon art.
Moon breathing is main reason why he became the upper moon 1 as a demon with a breathing style is overpowered.
Kokushibo is a badass character. He is Yoriichi's twin brother. He is that powerful.

I don't think the author made a mistake by making the villains too powerful. Other than Saitama from One Punch Man (who is, for all intents and purposes, considered a satirical or gag character) there aren't many compelling hero stories where the good guy is so much better or more powerful than the villain. Their feats are heroic specifically because they are unlikely and require overcoming almost impossible odds (not to mention needing heroic sacrifices from main characters and teamwork). If Tanjiro had reached Yorichi level power and just flattened Kokushibo and Muzan single-handedly, Demon Slayer would not be such an enjoyable animation.
Btw Muzan can just explode the cells in any demon he controls so that power also must have transferred over to dk tanjiro allowing to VERY easily win

If Tanjiro’s father, Tanjuro, ever became a demon slayer then he would be the worthy opponent to face Kokushibo alone. Also it was said that Tanjiro was able to hold off Muzan all by himself and that he performed his best against Muzan.

He literally didn’t even notice the second drugs existence till later on meaning he isn’t too far from his prime when he fights a even more poisoned tanjiro who is about roughly 10% of his healthy power
Speed goes to tanjiro for the fact that right as muzan was going to finish off kanao tanjiro cut off muzans arm so fast he couldn’t even react
Oh and before you state kokushibo beats second drug muzan keep in mind that second drug muzan instantly knocked out 4 hashira plus 3 hashira level slayers in a single instant

Another moment was when he used urogi as transportation and then used his foot to deflect the lightning of sekido, oh and remember when tanjiro slightly cut an angry akaza’s neck without using any of the stw or selfless state hax, simply by using a single move that he knew would confuse akaza’s senses
Oh and reminder tanjiro is the same one who discovered hantengus fifth clone, how akaza’s compass worked, etc
Simply tanjiro has better biq feats, oh and did I mention how tanjiro easily discovered how muzans extra whips worked, something not even all the hashira combined could figure out

Endurance to tanjiro who tanked muzans cell destruction poison along with fighting muzan with insane fatigue

I just realized that rengoku is stronger than sanemi because in the story Stories of Flame and Water when rengoku first became a hashira sanemi instantly just starts attacking rengoku and rengoku blocks and deflects sanemi’s punches with ease then said thanks for the motivation and continued like nothing happened and even sanemi and tengen were shook. It’s canon to the actual series also. So canonically a rengoku that just became a hashira is stronger and as fast if not faster than a sanemi that was already a hashira

@@snackdog7623 anytime someone is going to lose a fight their fan bring up the slayer mark for no reason lol. It’s clear I’m talking base to base as rengoku literally had no trouble at all deflecting Sanemi’s attacks and clowning him by saying “I don’t feel like hitting you” mid fight and “thanks for the motivation” at the end. Sanemi even stated that he lost his temper which means he was actually trying to hurt rengoku and rengoku easily beat him without fighting back. Sanemi doesn’t slam anything.

Tanjiro would probably get the worst punishment and the only thing that would be left of him would be his head and his insides all over the walls after kokushibo sees his sun breathing and it reminds him of his inferiority to yoriichi
The vid is good but when you compare the other slayers with kokushibo you didn't include their feats against muzan like obanai you forget that obanai speedblitz muzan after he unlock the mark and even before he unlock the mark he blitz him and we all know that muzan is the strongest demon ever even if he was drugged he still is stronger than all UM, even though the hashira have UM amp muzan blitz them all at once
When you fight an UM (and survive) you'll have 5-10 yrs training worth of experience which makes you stronger so against muzan the hashira was alot more stronger than they were in ICA yet muzan blitz them all at once
And obanai speedblitz him and reacted/dodged his attacks who's alot more faster than kokushibo attacks so if they fought in 1v1 obanai will be able to react/dodge his attacks with ease and get close to him then speedblitz him and cut his neck with red blade and he'll die
Gyomei: gyomei was able to react/dodge every single attacks from LS(long sword/kimono off) kokushibo and didn't get hit by him except when he cut sanemi fingers at that panel he did get hit but after that we never seen him get hit by LS kokushibo but instead he dodge all of his area attacks even with stw so against muzan he got alot more stronger so if SCA(sunrise countdown arc) gyomei fought kokushibo again he'll dodge his attacks with ease since it's stated by inosuke that both giyuu and gyomei reacted to angry muzan attack and protect the others so gyomei will be able to react/dodge all of his attacks and get close to him then speedblitz him and cut his neck with red blade
Giyuu: same with giyuu here although he got clapped by akaza but ICA marked giyuu was akaza level but due to stamina issues he lost the fight according to tanjiro's statements. marked giyuu blitz akaza twice in chapter 150. he nearly sliced his head if akaza wasn't fast enough to dodged that blitz. even he was shocked upon seeing giyuu getting faster. then later akaza jumped behind to make a distance between him and giyuu but giyuu moved so fast that he was already closing the distance between akaza and used water breathing 4th form to sliced off his arm then later akaza's compass needle adapted to giyuu's speed and that where he fought in equal ground with giyuu tanjiro stated that both of them is were in the same level. "fast both of them" both akaza and giyuu were equal in speed "if the battle prolonged the human will lose because his stamina can't last forever"
"he and giyuu-san trading blows while taking momentary rest" that proves that marked giyuu has the same level of offense as akaza without blue silver chaotic afterglow and your speed should be high end relative to trade blows with your opponents it's due to his stamina slowed down he got overwhelmed by his own speed that akaza adapted So SCA giyuu if he fought kokushibo then he'll be able to react to every single attack from kokushibo Since it's stated that both gyomei and giyuu reacted to angry muzan attack and protect the others so giyuu will be able to react to his attacks and since he have the best defense from all hashira he'll deflect his attacks and get close to him then speedblitz him and cut his neck with red blade
Demons can kill demons by obsorbing each others Kokushibo clears Dkt with no difficulty
Technically demons can absorb other demons right so he wouldn't have to use a lock to win. Although with that being said I don't think he would actually win anyway. Demon King tanjiro was actually in a berserk state. All kokushibo has to do is remain calm calculative and collected. and if we're talking kokushibo after he transformed I don't think anyone else could beat him. Not even muzan or demon King tanjiro. i personally disagree with kokushibo vs demon king tanjiro he doesn't have any feats he just has immortality but there is no way he can defeat upper rank 1 so it would probably be a tie

I'd like to also add on here that kaigaku would get slapped harder because it was kokushibou who turned him into a demon and had him promoted to upper six and i would argue that zentisu would give some challenge if paired with another character as he did solo kaigaku

Here’s why tanjiro beats kokushibo
strength goes to tanjiro
He pinned muzan to a wall with just one arm, and don’t tell me “oh he was poisoned with the fourth drug 🤓🤓” because you know dam well tanjiro was ALSO poisoned, as a matter of fact muzan stated the poison was enough to kill a hashira in five minutes with just a small dosage, now look at how much poison is on tanjiro, along with the fact that tanjiro was also extremely fatigued and lost an eye, and yet he was keeping up with muzan in a 1v1, and btw the second drug wad barely noticed by muzan meaning that since he is a demon, aging doesn’t affect his body nearly as much as a normal human would
He literally didn’t even notice the second drugs existence till later on meaning he isn’t too far from his prime when he fights a even more poisoned tanjiro who is about roughly 10% of his healthy power
Speed goes to tanjiro for the fact that right as muzan was going to finish off kanao tanjiro cut off muzans arm so fast he couldn’t even react
Oh and before you state kokushibo beats second drug muzan keep in mind that second drug muzan instantly knocked out 4 hashira plus 3 hashira level slayers in a single instant
