- The Melon Milk Tactiles from Dangkeebs are honestly everything you'd want in an endgame tactile switch, but the $.65 price point and the NEED to lube makes this a hard sell in 2023... But like I said, there are three reasons why you SHOULD pick these up, can you figure out what they are? ;) Check them out here!

Really enjoyed your review! It’s kinda crazy that a normal length tactile switch is refreshing/out of the norm these days for switch releases. Full HPE plus tecsee tolerances really appeals to me. I’m a huge fan of my Corsa switches, and am currently lubing some Geon Blacks. Will definitely bookmark these as something to try out!
@MakerMods I love the reviews. Just a quick question regarding the Melon Milk. Looking to use them in an upcoming build. With them having a more standard travel, did you find the switches to be quieter that regular long pole tactiles?
Great review, and I appreciate your honesty! Totally agree about switches nowadays, they shouldn't need to be lubed to be good!
But then we lube them anyway, so...
You need to patent your laugh. You'll make millions!
HAHA I wish…….
Think you could cover the WS morandi switches you used in the Zoom video? ThereminGoat rated them very highly and would love to see another opinion on the switch.
please do the haimu middle night switches next! want to see how their pom housings are.
another way to fix the tick, and actually how i do it, is to put lube in the leaf bend. i find it more effective and it doesn't reduce the tactility. all you really need is a nice coating inbetween but you can also stuff it up with lube with a lube syringe. i actually just had some lube come in today called molykote em-30l that i bought just for this because it's really inexpensive but works great, also if you add some microsyn 1000 too it you can get loob3g (just reference kirball's video on how to do this)
Ooh that's good to know! I just tried it on some of my really bad ticking linears and I think it made a difference! How do yo ulike the molykote?
@@MakerMods the molykote is pretty good actually, the consistency is lie marshmallow fluff if you've ever tried that. imo it's easier to apply than krytox and just as effective for eliminating tick and ping so i'll be using it on leafs and springs. i don't think it's as smooth as krytox though so probably avoid using it on the housing and stem
That's wild that you even know about that stuff! It's like marshmallow spread in a jar exactly as you stated 😂
We use it in aviation where you need to put a bolt through a plastic fitting like a landing light into a three different metal housing.
It works very well as far as being able to take things apart later.
It is especially good at fastening inspection port cover plates, as using thread locker on the airframe is very hit and miss.
And either turns into concrete or become so much liquid and does no locking whatsoever!
I'm so thankful for the community that Makermods has fostered.
It's nice to be able to actually discuss keyboards without teenagers screaming at me about how much I don't know well being ignorant of the fact that I have probably done more before puberty than they will their entire lives as far as mechanics and building things goes 🤷🏼♂️
We use this really fancy Dow Corning Grease to fit push rod boots that has solvent in it so that it evaporates after assembly.
It's basically $27 a tube dielectric grease with a Dow Corning label and some solvent in it!
I currently have a Snap-On wrench drinking beer stein that is all aluminum with the name on the inside for drinking out of.
I media blasted it with glass to take it down to raw aluminum except for the enamel coating on the interior and it is currently sitting in the Alodyne tank to go from raw aluminum to a gorgeous almost gram's light magnesium looking oil puddle look.
We used it on the aluminum housings for the 13B in our RX7 and people actually believe it's magnesium when they look in the engine bay.
I'm just trying to make a nice gift for my dad on his 76th birthday!
Check out "speedy the 175" if you'd like to see some of the flying he does. We are very much not wealthy as I am the mechanic and he is the lifetime pilot who is a couple hundred hours Short of 15,000.
Apologies for my autistic essay.
I'm always amazed at this channels subscribers knowledge about all kinds of very special lubricants and material types 🌍
Amazing video as always! This switch checks many boxes for me as I'm looking for a light tactile but man, I cannot use anything that has more than 3.3mm total travel, they feel so sluggish and I type slower because I bottom out with each press. Nonetheless, this is a great addition for people that prefer full travel.
So there was an old Reddit post about the ball bearing mod before long poles became a thing, but I guess with long poles as common as they are there isn’t really a need :P although it is quite a different sensation!
@@MakerMods I'm aware of the mod. Just a bit worried that bottoming out on a steel ball may not be the same or as satisfying as plastic on plastic.. Hahah.
@@Caution40404 PUAHAHA yeah like the NK cream + titanium inserts were… unique but I personally wouldn’t want that in a board I use every day!
How’s the stem wobble?
Nice vid
Quick question: Why don't you do the modifiers at the end of the typing test?
Thanks for the video!
HAHA I used to, but based on my analytics by the end of the typing test everyone clicked off :P I can include it really quick if it helps!
Boba U4Ts are still the best tactile imo, even stock they are 95% of the experience!
Running them for the past two years and not looking for anything else. I don't even know why I'm watching this video.
I'd eat these switches for sure
That oil you found could be some mold release maybe?
Yeah I think you might be right!!!
Seems like all of the new tecsee tactiles are salmon recolors.
They look just like SP Star Soda Series Melons

Omnitype floral!
Thanks!

that brush....
PUAHAHA yeah it's pretty well worn... I think I"ve lubed like 10k switches with that brush!
@@MakerMods please tell me u have new ones. This one you may frame it somewhere
@@Hahnck750i HAHA I do, but I always end up defaulting back to this one and I have no idea where I bought it from! :’(
@@MakerMods unhealthy attachment lol
You need a new brush my friend 😂
It's not thocky at all
Can you stop begging for likes?
It’s part of his channel brand lol
I personally like how it’s a different way of saying the same call to action each time
PUAHAHA I can't... my wife watches all my videos just to see what lame joke I've come up with, and when I don't put it in some of my vids she gets really sad
@@MakerMods That's awesome lmaoo
