  • In this video, we level the cutting deck on a John Deere Z525E Zero Turn Mower. We use a Amazon Deck Living Tool to make sure the left, right and center of the deck are all level.

Thank you for making this video. I didn't know how to level the deck or that you needed to on my Z525E. I'm still learning about this mower.

I’m glad it helped out. You really need to do this at the beginning of each mowing season. Good luck.

For proper leveling on the 525 the front measurement should be 1/8 to 1/4 inch LOWER than your side measurements. So for sides at 4 your front should be 3 3/4 to 3 7/8. Having the front slightly lower gives you the best cut and will eliminate the top of the grass from browning after cutting.

A good way to do it, I barrowed one of those and a blade balancer from work... I did that setting to my JD 214 deck I did it in the garage but my garage has a slope to the center drain that you cannot really see with the naked eye OOps Love that guy at the beginning, he was a very wise man!

Thanks DJ, I should have mentioned that you should do this on level ground. Appreciate you watching. Have a good weekend.

Thank you for this video. I live alone during growing season and am on very tight budget. So no hiring help to mow my two acres of grass or maintain my equipment.

Great video, I use blue Loctite gel on the threads before making the adjustments, it doesn't lock things down like red loctite it has just enough grab to keep things from vibrating loose

The vibration of the mower will cause the nuts to back off. Like you had the set screws on front, use safety wire to keep your back screws from backing out next time. Great video again. See ya next time

Those Anti Scalp wheels need to be lowered all the way down 1/4 in off of ground
