Without doubt one of the most charismatic and coolest actors this country has ever had. Completely and totally under used after the brilliant Professionals. There's differing stories why he didn't become the next James Bond from he was too aggressive in the interview or over confident or what ever well that's pretty cool in itself, anyway the producers and makers of James Bond robbed the fans of who I think would of been one of the best James Bonds, what a waste😩😥😥 What a wonderful interview this was he was talking about the professionals being 20 years previous and now in nearly 2016 this interview was 16/17 years ago and we've lost him now where does the time go. @@CM-dw3gh no it was just he didn't want the professionals repeated on tv as he is now a 'serious' actor dontcha kno... too full of his bloody own self importance.. all the money Lewis could have got from those re runs too.. Lewis was so versatile. A great comedic timing in his previous hit show The Cuckoo Waltz with Diane Keen and David Roper where he played a womanising lodger who flirted with Keen as the married woman. And yes like others think he should easily have been 007. Much better than Moore and Dalton. He actually passed sas training. .would have been great..in all his interviews and his this is your life programme he was very unassuming..down to earth and so well loved.. how he never became a big star i dont know and he would have been great in a professionals reboot doing Jacksons role. RIP big man you are missed

@@kimmarievan-ever6599 Lewis was a gent. they all got rerun contracts the main 3 actors. because the contracts needed all 3 to sign for reruns to occur at a certain rate Shaw would basically put the contract on the side somewhere. what happened one time was Jackson's widow told Lewis to try to get Shaw to sign his contract. Lewis phoned up Shaw and basically told him to sign so a widow could get payments from her husbands work. Shaw signed and payments started to come in.

@@genesis1765 wrong....Shaw never signed and Jacksons widow struggled for years. Shaw is so far up his own a**e hence Collins refusal to comment..he wasnt very happy. The 2 of them eventually had dinner and made peace not long before Collins passed away.

I assume the series he was alludito was The Professionals reboot in 1999 that only lasted thirteen episodes and was shown on Sky One? Edward Woodward ended up taking the Cowley role. Shame Bob didn't mention the B movies Lewis did in Italy in the mid 80s with Ernest Borgnine, Lee Van Cleef and Klaus Kinski. I'm sure Lewis would have had some stories about that. Interesting that he could have auditioned for The Beatles and that he worked alongside Mike 'The Scaffold' McCartney. Such an interesting life he had.
