MASSIVE Economic DOWNTURN IS ALREADY HERE!

  • Well to do people typically are not affected by prices going up nearly as much as people in the middle to lower incomes yet even stores like Whole Foods now are going to be lowering the prices on thousands of items in order to lure in new customers, especially since they plan on opening stores this year and not closing them. But if the economy was doing great, they wouldn't need to lower prices, everybody would continue shopping there without a hitch, but instead businesses, across-the-board are offering deals incentives and discounts to get customers back into their stores.

    A failing U.S. economy and elevated global tensions reduce the likelihood of prolonged inflation or higher long-term Treasury yields. I've seen folks amass up to $1m amid crisis, and even pull it off easily in a favorable economy. Unequivocally, the bubble/collapse is getting somebody somewhere rich

    • @Lexxie45
      @Lexxie45 Před dnem +5

      Right? I was thinking of moving to a deep south state in the middle of nowhere to save on rent. I looked online and a 1 bedroom less than average looking apartment was going for $650/month last year. Compare that to $1750 that I pay now in the Seattle area. Then my boss told me that if I move, she will be paying me the minimum wage in the state I will be residing in which would've been $7.25 an hour. I work remotely and I thought I could take my $19 an hour to a much cheaper place. Turns out I would be worse off. So no, Michael doesn't realize, moving to a cheaper place is not always the best option.

      Moving is expensive when you are already settled with a family. I live in a low cost of living fly over state and was looking at moving to a city to be close to shopping and entertainment. At minimum, during covid, it would have been 10k for a safe blue collar neighborhood. Figured I'll stay where I'm at where I'm already making well over the median income for the area. Maybe once retirement age comes along I'd move to city to be close to doctors and entertainment venues. Guess it really depends where our kids set down roots.

      Captialism. Many parts to it. On a buisness end they are in buisness to make money.. the most they possibly can. When prices get to high... and markets are allowed to work, we get price rejection. Businesses have to lower prices to get folks to buy. If they don't or are too over leveraged they do not last and go under. Everyone is over leveraged. Folks can't afford the high prices. Which means there are thousands of buisnesses that are in serious trouble. Which means the Government is going to need to come in and save them (QE, Bail outs, Bail ins) at debt levels 120% debt to GDP. 13 of the last 15 countries that went above 130% have lost their reserve currency status. WE are living it right now... we are witnessing this real time. Americans have no idea what losing our reserve status really means. So I will tell you. Think everything you buy will double in price overnight. Folks are not ready for that. It will cause them to lose everything.

I work in this field and let me tell you esp in grocery, the margins are razor thin. You have to sell 4 cans of corn to make a penny and that is not an exaggeration. Truth is, their prices are way up and the rise in prices is that expense being passed on to us.

    • @rnk99999
      @rnk99999 Před dnem

      @@saleens330these are for profit organizations. Also on average profits are down for companies VS 10 years ago. Take Walmart for example, in 2023 they had 15 billion in profit which I'm sure you are referring to. Back in 2015 or 2014 take your pick, they made 16.363b in profit adjust that for inflation in current day dollar and that is 21B in profit dollars. We all know back then prices were far less and even with prices up now, Walmarts profits fell 6B VS 10 years ago. So your theory does not hold water, they are losing money just like we are. Higher prices is not some scheme by companies to make money. These are lies that the main stream media throws out there to cover for how terrible the economy is. Once you dig in you quickly see numbers don't lie, only the media does.

    My daughter and her fiance recently moved to Napa, California into a 2 bedroom apartment. They ran their air conditioning once. Their electric bill was 230! Twice what they paid in Boulder, Colorado, where they ran their AC continuously.
    It’s now 100 degrees where she lives and she’s dreading what she’s going to be paying for electricity. She says that between taxes and living expenses she’s paying $1000 more a month just to live in California. They want to move back to Colorado.

While the reported inflation %'s are lower now by comparison, nearly everyone is way worse off due to the relative cost of almost everything compared to average income after taxes. It's similar to how mortgage loan rates were higher in the 70's, but a house cost 25k-40k, as opposed to 350k now at a lower interest rate. • @williamrogers4917
      @williamrogers4917 Před 2 dny +3

      Yep, the person not going out to eat is greedy. Not wanting to spend that money at the restaurant so the servers can get paid to pay their bills. If it was just pure greed, then why were they not charging these high prices pre-pandemic? When economical times get tough, many smart people from the small to the large corporations, try to cut spending and increase revenue. It is like the person stocking food up, the more money you can get, the better chance you have to survive a recessions and depressions. Yes, every smarts person, every smart company. is trying to store up enough to survive till times get better.
      Let's face it, the inflation is too much money chasing too few goods and this administration's policies has played a big role in that. The more money government hands out in stimulus, bailouts, subsidies, and the likes, devalue the money you have. The less your money is worth means the more it will take to buy something. Zimbabwe is been one of the most recent in history that destroyed their currency by printing so much of it.
      The other part is restricting supply raises prices as well. Part was done under Trump with his tariff on China in an attempt to negotiate a new deal like he did with Canada and Mexico. But Biden hit us the hardest with his war on fossil fuels. Oil is one of the most important things to the modern world and not just for cheap energy. Most plastics are made from oil and the world is highly dependent on the lightweight, durability of plastics in all aspects of life. Even the EV cars depend on plastic to keep the weight down. Then you have the use of fossil fuels in powering all part of manifesting, mining, farming, to get things we need. If also plays the part as a catalyst in making many medicines.
      These are just some of the factors that play into prices. Take housing. In places that have high restrictions and fees, even law to protect renters, limit the amount of housing that can be built. One Saint Paul, Minnesota nearly halted all new housing being built with new rent control laws a while back. You want to lower prices, you have more supply but in Saint Paul's case, they end up killing more supply with their strict rent controls.
      Basic economics is they if you want something cheaper, than have more supply than demand. Don't believe me, just look at Ollie's Bargain Outlet were many toys end up at cheaper prices that people did not want to buy. I don't know how many modern Star Wars and Marvel figure end up there, but I have seen a lot and more than I even saw at like Walmart. That same principle works across all markets.

    My car insurance and homeowners insurance went up 20%. Both of our vehicles are older than 7 years. Electricity went up around 8% with another increase in the works for next year. My discretionary spending is disappearing. We cook more and eat out less. I know of two people who were involved in no fault auto accidents where the driver at fault had no insurance. Sign of the times.

    There was a short period in time between 2020-2022 where eating out was cheaper than the grocery store in many instances. The whole take-out ghost kitchen situation.
