The controller does *NOT* need changing. There should be a dial on the remote next to steering trim that can control "exponential" Try turning it left and steering should be linear!
Drift RC Stuff: Get a Sanwa MX-V remote vs that Traxxas remote. You can get some different tire compounds from MST. Most people drift on carpet or smooth concrete, tire compounds will make a difference along with correct suspension setup. When you get back home go to JDM Speedway in Sanford & they'll really help you out. You can also check out BlackStar Hobbies on Apopka (They're a big influence in RC drifting).
A radio that has adjustable steering end points would fix the steering problem. They do make many different tires, but it depends on what surface you are running it on.
I drift with a Sanwa M12, my son drifts with a TQI stick and if you enter the menus via blinking you can adjust a lot with one of the potmeters at the front. I have both a DX3R and a GT3b but the latency on steering does better with my trail rigs
Hi Adam my name is Ryan. I am a rc car enthusiast. I have over 10,000$ in rc cars and I live in Clinton Connecticut. If you go to the hobby shop like Branford hobby in Branford Ct, lee hobby in Groton ct, amatos in Middletown ct and there is more hobby shops near you in northern ct. just put in a search and you will find 10 to 20 shops near you or in ct. I would like to meet you someday. I have a skate park in my town. It is all concrete and hurts if you fall so wear pads if you come. Sincerely Ryan Pecoraro
Jimmy Oakes if you get a complete car for 4 to 500$ and get the body you want like your drift 240 and paint it it the same color. they make your wheels too. That is the easy way of doing it. It is a good thing to start with a ok drift rc then you buy aftermarket parts that are aluminum. I love your videos you make(pineapples are life)
+AdamLZ On the remote there will be dial to turn the steering ratio up or down. The tyres you have are meant for the road, you want a more grippy compound for surfaces with less grip and less grippy tyres for surfaces with more grip. Raising the shell slightly will stop the tyre bind on lock. I am Australian so we spell tyre differently to how you spell tire. If you want any other advice feel free to message me.
for $300 its a steal especially being custom with the extra wheel. its a bargain. its not meant to get traction on the floor. but the controller needs changing
really cheap the chassis is one of the best RC drift chassis you can buy and they cost around $300 the body work is amazing and you can adjust the steering too there should be a configuration somewhere on the remote or you could bring it to a RC shop
Actually the chassis is $109. You just gotta buy the electronics. Definitely a good chassis though. The price he bought it at is really good given the upgraded aluminum parts it has plus electronics. Could use a better transmitter though.
I have a mst fxxd, and I got it $150 rolling chassis, you got it for a complete deal. I spent $300 on one body alone. However, the surface you're drifting on is uneven because of the tiles, driving in your driveway would be way better, yet you will need different tires and to tune your car.you can't tune your car well do to the remote, but tires for your surface I would recommend either hpi tdrifts or mst gold dots.If you have anymore questions hmm on it @traplowered
$300 is a good deal for that car. It is about $200 new as a kit with no electronics. If you add electrical tape to your wheels it can add some more grip. You need the gyro to work if the car is RWD. If you press the throttle the other way it brakes and you can use that in your drifts. It mainly just takes lots of practice. Would love to see you do more rc drifting videos!
The tires on a drift RC are like hard plastic, not ideal for another slick surface such as tile. Probably would work on a very low pile carpet or even very smooth asphalt. As you can imagine, the front wheels need a little it of grip to allow the back end to change direction predictably so the tires and surface you are running on are going to entirely dictate how it handles. You can definitely get a different radio probably not necessarily from Traxxas but if they hook you up with something then go for it. What you want is the ability to adjust both the end points(sets or limits travel) and the dual rate which adjust the amount of turn that equals the travel of the servo in both directions . You could also just get a slower servo but I think having the adjustment in the radio would be easier/better. Most radios that are available in the aftermarket have these adjustments and you could actually get 1 radio with multiple model memory and use the same radio for all of your r/c's..just get a receiver for each new vehicle you have. You can store the models and all of their settings individually. Good luck~
The Sakura rwd cars are absolutely beasts to drive. I work at a hobby shop and in my experience, Most rc drift cars are awd and not rwd. It makes it way easier to get clean drifts with it. With a rwd setup like you have you need that insane amount of angle just to keep the car settled through a corner. They are a challenge but loads of fun to drive. And for the remote. Get on the traxxas website. There is a way to go thru a menu on the remote with the set button to adjust and change steering dual rates and end points. Good luck! Sam
@AdamLZ with a RWD rc drift car you need that gyro working. The receiver has nothing to do with the steering issue that you mentioned. If you want to tone down the steering you can adjust the steering exponential. you can do this on a stock traxxas radio but its easier if you have the Traxxas link app and adapter for your phone. This will make ut easier to make changes to the radio settings. The Sakura D4 has a ton of steering and that steering speed helps you catch the rear end in a slide. I hope this helps. Please feel free to let me know if you need anything rc related.
Also RWD is not good for begginers. It takes some time to get used to. Counter steering setup (4WD) is easier to drive. Drifting on concrete, softer wheels plastic tire, increased gain on gyro and some practice. I think tha iis all he need at this moment.
Vojtěch Nekvapil actually I find that when you switch from cs to rwd I had to relearn how to drive, steering inputs are very different different from one another
Not that much (I got 50/50, CS, RWD drift RCs. Not to mention Short course, expedition truck, etc ) RWD is more throtle responsive and front wheels dont pull you out of some situations like in 4WD. With Sakura he can decide if RWD or CS (4wd) is better for him. (Realistic or easy to drive)
adam when drifting an rc i usually drive it on a smooth slippery concrete or smooth wood or just something smooth to get the drift going. i used to drift rc super fun u will love it.
The CZcams algorithm is on point today, first I watched the newest video of adams, then it recommended this vid and it just hit different. It’s amazing to see how far you’ve come Adam.
Adam, look into Spektrum radio equipment, you will be able to buy multiple receivers (one for each of your traxxas vehicles as well as your drift car) and use the same radio. I personally use a DX4R pro but something like the DX4C would be fine for your use; they also have an android based radio called the DX6R, pretty sweet! I will post some links at the bottom of this comment. For getting a better grasp of your drift car look into drifting on carpet and just like real life different tires make for different feels! If you upgrade to an aftermarket radio you can adjust many things; Exponential, dual rate, and a plethora of other things! Also look into steering servos (Spektrum makes them as well and are of great quality) Have fun with your rc 240! Also, these rc drift cars and the racing kits (yes some of us race these rc cars ) have just as much if not more adjustments than full size cars; camber, toe, ackermann, roll center, shock oils, shock pistons, motor gearing, shock angle adjustments, sway bars, chassis tweak, and even more! Hey Adam I have a few suggestions to you for your D4, a good remote to get is a Spektrum DX4s. The tires I always run are DS Racing DS-FFFF tires. But for your front you want a hard compound plastic. When you have time go and Facebook and check out Drift America RC or DARC they have a full map of all the rc drift spots in the states. This vid IMMEDIATELY grabbed my attention. Hope you enjoy it. Thanks for all the awesome vids.
Hey Adam, its not likely you will see this comment, but I will try! I am a huge RC enthusiast, and love the realistic features of this RC you got! I have a few tips for you. .1 is for the tire rub on the body, the mounting posts on the car should be able to raise. If you raise them, the tire rub should be gone. .2 is for the sensitive steering. getting a new remote would work for sure, but you would have to get a new receiver as well. So keep that in mind. However if you get a new remote, get one with dual rate controls, that will help the sensitive steering. .3 is for the traction. You could get some rubber tires that are still drift capable, but some rubber tires are a little tacky and wont drift. I hope you see this comment, I love your videos. I dont get to watching all of them but see most of them. Hope you have un with your RC drift car ;)
Man i been driftin with rc for 6 years, check the radio you have a steering rate knob, you should be able to turn down the steering angle, now in that radio idk if you can (if its possible its hard because its a single led button menu, where you read how many blinks to know what options you are on) other radios even cheap 70 bucks radios from futaba can turn down the speed at wich the steering moves and even add a delay for the return or make the return of the steering slower. you can do all sort ofthings manage throttle curves and everythings with the right radio and speed controllers, ifyou need any help hit me up no problem, ill explain everything to you :) (the traction issue its not just the tires, which do help getting different compunds, but its simply that rc cars are very slidy and you have to learn to feather the throttle also adjusting the gyro helps)
ADAM: TIP FOR RC Check the dual rate on the remote for steering trim left and right and a second nob for dual rate speed, It will alow you two slow down it down but the type of servo that it has is for a fast rate. i suggests sticking with for a while and get used to how it drives. I personally dont run with any gyro for assisted counter steer, if your trying it out with it on mabey try it a time with it off and see if you like it. I hope the tips help you :)
almost finished with my rwd sakura d4 build. its a nice substitution to 1:1 scale drifting when you're young and broke like me haha more rc videos please!!
hi adma this is one of my hobies also love kpop channel that is a rwd chassis you got there a replica of a orginal sakura d4 good for beginning and just dubble side tape that gyro on the lower deck in the middle and you will need a 3 channel radio that radio is for rtr kits ready to run and a other reciever will help with the steering and you can adjusted sensitivity on it so much more I can tell you but don't wane write a book and if you go deeper in this chassis you spend more time on it as on the real car lol
hey Adam don't buy a new transmitter yet, the linkage from your servo to bellcrank is to long that's why you are getting a lot of angle with little use of the transmitter, I'd recommend to get a shorter steering linkage before you get a new transmitter cause you'd have to More than likely get a receiver for it. but your doing amazing on the vids! keep it up!
Fyi, if you're going to get in to RC cars you should definitely look at getting a 3d Printer or make friends with someone who has one and knows how to design parts in CAD. I picked up my first printer for $99 so they're really inexpensive nowadays. The reason i say this is that you're going to break parts, and since its a custom RC car you're gonna need to have a way to reproduce the custom pieces.
Grimfate20 hey which one did you get?! I did a lot of research a few months ago but gave up on the idea of getting one. I'm still open to getting one but a super cheap yet good one would be great.
I got the iMakr STARTT 3d printer. If you're looking to get a 3d printer for RC parts i'd suggest one that can print ABS plastic with a heated bed. I see no reason you couldn't print chassis parts out of ABS or maybe even PLA+ from eSUN. Also if you're printing with ABS you should have an enclosure. If you're much of a DIY person you can make one yourself or many printers come with one but they're more expensive.
Hey Adam the way you can get that drift rc to work since it’s rwd just a little bit of throttle and some brake and cut the wheel sharp at the same time
Trim the steering it worked with mine but does controller really not have a trim knob???? Kinda surprising because when your making a drift rc you want maximum control over your steering and I would suspect that the dude that was making it would have spent more money on the controller.
Its better for you to get 4 wd if your going to start a rc drifting for a hobby because it's more controllable and more fun. I recommend the Hpi drift 2 flux.
Adam, I used to race RC Cars for almost 10 years... definitly get a much better controller/receiver, not Traxxas brand. Find a Futaba or Sanwa controller/receiver combo, alot more adjustments for total steering lock (end point adjustment), sub-trim and trim for keep it running straight, better brakes and brake power adjustment. The higher end controllers will also have a much faster reaction time. The rest is all learn as you go. Have fun :D
I have a Innovate wide band. it killed 2 sensors within 2 months. I just got a third sensor for it, and now it won't calibrate. I think a lot of people have been having bad luck with Innovate. I just ordered the new PLX wideband with the touch screen. PLX and AEM both make really reliable units. Also, I like the fast talking. 👍
Hey man, I am from Czech republic. You may talk faster but you also have very clear accent so no problems to understand at all. Keep doing what you do because you do it well. :)
Adam love the vids btw but I'm the Rc king so the resolution to get it to not steer so much you will have to unplug one of the steering servos or just get used to it the way it is and you got an amazing deal on that car keep up the grate videos
Adam, if you want a controller with a lot of wheel play, get a flysky fs-gt2b. They're 27 bucks for the whole receiver and controller on eBay and it has a lot of steering wheel turning compared to the traxxas controller. Like this so he can see it.
death2508 why r u pick on me I have a herd time Txt bro wtf yo yes I did drop out of school so what I'm try to Txt and get good at it I do hete myself how I have a hard time Txt and telk.!
hey Adam I have the same Sakura d4. I am a technician at a hobby store and I can help you. I recommend you switch out the radio for many reasons 1 being it's traxxas. I recommend you get a flysky or m12. or those you can adjust the expo(aka the power of turn based on angle of wheel on radio) in a split second. and 300 is cheap AF I spend well over that on my set up
That's so good, I remember when I was so into rc cars, had 2 exceedrc drift cars, a traxxas buggy, and trophy truck, you will have a lot of fun with it
cheap radio is a spektrum 4c. that steering your talking about is the epa adjustment you can do with the 4C, the traxxas controller you have no adjustments other than steering trim.
Usually the piece which connects to the steering servo on the car will have multiple mounting holes for the tie rods which are different lengths from the center of rotation from the servo. If you change where the tie rods are mounted, and mount them closer to the center of rotation that will change your steering ratio and make it larger which will effectively make your steering less sensitive on the controller.
change the lever that the servo connects to.. the way it looks now is the short side is connected to servo, and the long side is connected to wheels, and you need to lengthen the servo side so that it takes more leverage to move the wheels same amount. with the shorter side on servo, it doesn't take as much movement to move the wheels so much.
Hey Adam quick tip you should replace the front tyres on it with some rubber tyres and you should put the gyro back on and expect it to have a bigger wheel angle than your actual car. BTW its supposed to translate a little movement into a lot because it needs to be able to transfer way quicker for little adjustments 😊
Hi Adam, if you are still using wideband which needs calibration, than dump it in the river. Use LSU4.9 wideband which are more accurate and actually works well. And leave controlling failsafe on your ECU which can react faster and with more effective ways, not some gauge.
Sweet! Thanks for the shout out Adam! I should send you some seats! even though yours arent recaros.
You should see if Kpop RC will give you/ or sell you his replica of your car once he is finished
George H he has a good replica
indeed his is awsome
George H he put him in his description
George H he also has 3 bodies since he messed up 2 of them but they're still decent
William Snyder but the paint was messed up on the other bodies.

A radio that has adjustable steering end points would fix the steering problem. They do make many different tires, but it depends on what surface you are running it on.
This radio has a lot more functions if he reads the book and get into the menu, no problem drifting with it.
GTTwincam the standard TQI remotes don't give you enough adjustments. Flysky is a nice inexpensive way to go but Spektrum has a lot to offer.

Hope you have un with your RC drift car ;)
lol I have been watching for 5 years or so. Gone through like 3 channels of yours 😂
ADAM: TIP FOR RC
Check the dual rate on the remote for steering trim left and right and a second nob for dual rate speed, It will alow you two slow down it down but the type of servo that it has is for a fast rate. i suggests sticking with for a while and get used to how it drives. I personally dont run with any gyro for assisted counter steer, if your trying it out with it on mabey try it a time with it off and see if you like it. I hope the tips help you :)
KpopRC is awesome. Been watching him for years now
I Never understand how you guys can land on the pegs all the time while you guys do those tricks 😱 haha awesome video like always!
Finally kpop rc getting some recognition
Nice! I got a black 240 I painted. And in answer to your pice you spent $300, that seems to be about right.
almost finished with my rwd sakura d4 build. its a nice substitution to 1:1 scale drifting when you're young and broke like me haha
more rc videos please!!
Damn, that thing was in the DARC fb group haha, been trying to get my buddy to pick it up, it's just an ol d4, but you'll love it!
hi adma this is one of my hobies also love kpop channel that is a rwd chassis you got there a replica of a orginal sakura d4 good for beginning and just dubble side tape that gyro on the lower deck in the middle and you will need a 3 channel radio that radio is for rtr kits ready to run and a other reciever will help with the steering and you can adjusted sensitivity on it so much more I can tell you but don't wane write a book and if you go deeper in this chassis you spend more time on it as on the real car lol
hey Adam don't buy a new transmitter yet, the linkage from your servo to bellcrank is to long that's why you are getting a lot of angle with little use of the transmitter, I'd recommend to get a shorter steering linkage before you get a new transmitter cause you'd have to More than likely get a receiver for it. but your doing amazing on the vids! keep it up!
caleb buchanan Trust me the more angle the better. It's just a matter of can you use it. You want it to go sideways as much as possible.
I love your idea of taking off bolts on your car to fix your bike😂💀
I love the music in the car man!!!
Grimfate20 i wouldnt 3d print chassis components. just visual mods like air splitters in the back and miniature seats like KpopRC did
Which 3D printer did you get? I am looking to buy one.
Grimfate20 ii
15% way better than 10. Cough cough TJ
Finally a shoutout! Been watching KPop since ep 3 of the old RX7
Hey Adam the way you can get that drift rc to work since it’s rwd just a little bit of throttle and some brake and cut the wheel sharp at the same time
It's better to use carpet or concrete for drifting especially for a real wheel drift drift car
Trim the steering it worked with mine but does controller really not have a trim knob???? Kinda surprising because when your making a drift rc you want maximum control over your steering and I would suspect that the dude that was making it would have spent more money on the controller.
Mitchell Wolk same here, I only have a basic sprint 2 and I spent heaps to get a decent controller before I did any mods
It does it’s the base model traxxas radio
adam when ur going into the turn with the rc as soon as you get side ways start to "pedal" it or tap the throttle
iv been subscribed for ages
What happened to dugee
I think he's hiding in the addick in Connecticut
kevenscan Ikr
Its better for you to get 4 wd if your going to start a rc drifting for a hobby because it's more controllable and more fun. I recommend the Hpi drift 2 flux.
Jose Robles I'm just beginning and I have a sprint 2 aswell. It's great for beginners
Jose Robles No, the Sakura is way more tunable than a sprint platform. What he has now is a great introductory kit.
Patrick Collins the Sakura is rwd though, rwd is much harder to control
pinefruit That's why people who drive RWD (I do both rwd and awd) use a gyro.
Patrick Collins I can't argue is I've never driver a rwd, but I've just heard even with gyro it is still harder to control
Adam, you should make an cinematic video where your drifting the RC car behind your real car. LIKE THIS SO ADAM IS MORE INCLINED TO READ IT! lol
yes
Tavis Met calve the price is a pretty good price for the rc car and also get the hpi drift car
I'm from Romania but i understand english and i can speak english very well...
ISASONDA want a medal?
Cool story bro blog it
I think you drive the rc better adam😂jk love the vids man and I'm a truck guy and am into downhill mountain biking you should try it sometime.
Hope you feel better Nicole!!!!!
can you flair adam???
Andrew Allen he did a video
He can but his scared
Damn $300? That's it? U got a good deal.
Yo Adam you should totally come up to Vermont I didnt notice you were so close😂😂
Hey man, I am from Czech republic.
You may talk faster but you also have very clear accent so no problems to understand at all.
Keep doing what you do because you do it well. :)
Adam should sell a rc car of his 240 and it should be 1:43 scale.
Uhh that would be the worlds smallest RC car. He should definitely do it.
*edit* Nvm read that as 1:143 Still think he should do it now.
He can also make a big one in any different size.
ThatDudeNamedBloo 188 1:10
Sanchez 674 Yea 1:10
Adam love the vids btw but I'm the Rc king so the resolution to get it to not steer so much you will have to unplug one of the steering servos or just get used to it the way it is and you got an amazing deal on that car keep up the grate videos
Sweet! Another project car for the channel! You should also actually paint match it.
For higher speeds with a more powerful motor you can use rubber compound tires. For slower drifts on black asphalt you can use plastic tires
When you smoke weed you don't talk fast lmao if anything he would be on like adderal but I doubt it!
Cameron Myers was just rhinking that but i think hea meant as in that he slowed his talking speed
I think a lot of people thought you were high at the beginning of yesterday's video when you were really tired
Surrreeeeeeee
Sam A smoker knows the difference between high and tired.
Kpop been a sub for a longggg time
adam lz is a savage with his ad placements
Another guy did your car better and it shoots flames
and if u watched til the end he showed that..
JakeLemons dramatics
He said that he gave the guy a shout out
oh
so that's what that bell button does
I always thought that it made a bell noise
yay another you tuber that's into rcs....I was hoping you'd get an rc
hope nicole feels better !!!
Adam, if you want a controller with a lot of wheel play, get a flysky fs-gt2b. They're 27 bucks for the whole receiver and controller on eBay and it has a lot of steering wheel turning compared to the traxxas controller. Like this so he can see it.
my name is Zach. Adam lz can u come to TX 1 day if u got time and do some BMX stuff go have fun. I love to BMX with u Adam lz.?
what??
death2508 why r u pick on me I have a herd time Txt bro wtf yo yes I did drop out of school so what I'm try to Txt and get good at it I do hete myself how I have a hard time Txt and telk.!
I'm sorry I can't Txt is good like u can!
crazy that im subed to you and k pop rc cause i love drifting and rc drifting lol
hey Adam I have the same Sakura d4. I am a technician at a hobby store and I can help you. I recommend you switch out the radio for many reasons 1 being it's traxxas. I recommend you get a flysky or m12. or those you can adjust the expo(aka the power of turn based on angle of wheel on radio) in a split second. and 300 is cheap AF I spend well over that on my set up
I am from Denmark
Julius Jørgensen cool?
why do people from denmark always need to state that theyre from denmark
im moving soon to denmark. so very soon i will start saying that im from Denmark!
But you're not from Denmark
but i will be :)
Not a drift rc expert but that flooring is very slippery try using it on your drive way
just be you Adam I haven't noticed you speaking fast probably because I speak fast too😂😂😂
Song that you were listening to on the way to the skate park?
I want that so bad
Scotty Cranmer - Adam LZ. Collaboration
74Rooster74 been waiting forever
That's so good, I remember when I was so into rc cars, had 2 exceedrc drift cars, a traxxas buggy, and trophy truck, you will have a lot of fun with it
cheap radio is a spektrum 4c. that steering your talking about is the epa adjustment you can do with the 4C, the traxxas controller you have no adjustments other than steering trim.
Who else is hyped when Adam uploads
notification squad where ya at???
frosted Laserzz right here brudda!
My happy place... here
here :)
frosted Laserzz in my car waiting for them to bring my bride seats
frosted Laserzz right here
Usually the piece which connects to the steering servo on the car will have multiple mounting holes for the tie rods which are different lengths from the center of rotation from the servo. If you change where the tie rods are mounted, and mount them closer to the center of rotation that will change your steering ratio and make it larger which will effectively make your steering less sensitive on the controller.
theres an adjustment on the controller for steering trim and severity also theres a track in altomonte for drifting it
Loved the video Adam Lz
change the lever that the servo connects to.. the way it looks now is the short side is connected to servo, and the long side is connected to wheels, and you need to lengthen the servo side so that it takes more leverage to move the wheels same amount. with the shorter side on servo, it doesn't take as much movement to move the wheels so much.
just checked out kpop rc's channel that build is amazing!
The tj hunt moving hand hahaha!
Hi Adam,
if you are still using wideband which needs calibration, than dump it in the river. Use LSU4.9 wideband which are more accurate and actually works well.
And leave controlling failsafe on your ECU which can react faster and with more effective ways, not some gauge.
will it break as much
I subbed to Kpop and he's at 94k now...hope he makes the 100k soon
