Hello i play tau as well may I ask where did you get from those probably 3d printed shield and firring efect ?
Your the first person I’ve seen ask about them! Which means you’ve won a free copy of the STL files from deadly print studios. Let us know an email to contact you. :)
you lucky bugger.
@@PlayOnTabletop hi I cannot it always dissapear the comment.
The hexa shields etc are in the BATTLEFX pack - check kickstarter. Amazing work by deadlyprintstudio
@@michalbarciak4504 Hmm Could you try contacting us on facebook?
Coming here a few years later, and hearing Nick saying he is playing Tau for the first time on the channel makes me chuckle.
40k in 40 minutes has a nice ring to it
@Thedwarvenpower Season 2 we will! Can't change it now!
@Thedwarvenpower well thanks! We read every single comment. We love this stuff as much as you guys!
40K in 40 Minutes lets goooooooo!
Did somebody say Kill Team?
:D
Ive probably watched 500 different battle reports and by far - like BY FAR- this is the coolest, highest production value bat rep I've ever seen. I love it. insta subscribed
Thank you so much for that!
Same. Is this channel 40k only? I'll need to check.
The production quality is through the roof now. Amazing battle report, guys!
My friends who never even played love watching these. The quality is spectacular, they're very fun to watch.
Couldn't agree more! Production value is really really great, I too don't play and love to watch these battle reports.
Yes!!
It's like a reality TV show, so much production quality. This concept I think honestly could work on network TV. Great work y'all!
for real. whoever is directing this / came up with this format is smart / understands how to do this kind of thing very well
I love that tau going ballsdeep, I've been playng that faction since 5th ed and I hate the fact that currently everyone just plays riptides castles, glad to see that I'm not the only one who is trying different playstyle lists!
Nick has also been a long standing fan of the Tau and we know he will always bring unique lists to the tabletop. I am sure he is happy knowing there is other Tau players that appreciate his style.
I also play tau, and I also play a very different style. Mine is a Tau Armored Company that only has a single commander battlesuit. It's all about the seeker and smart missiles. at 2000 pts I have 32 seekers, 9 tanks (3 hammerheads, 2 skyrays, 3 devilfish, 1 heavy bombardment hammerhead) and 3 piranhas along with 36 infantry in the devilfish. The devilfish run interference while the alpha wrecks the opponents list then its just a matter of shooting and scooting the remnants. I've taken down two Knight Crusaders in the first turn before.
@@thecoolanon I was just thinking about including skyrays / piranhas in my army, i really like the models
@@turatimauro98 Piranhas are great for their cost, since they have a lot of utility they're fast and can drop drones so can be good at scoring late objectives, or they can block moves with their size, and with seekers they can throw some punches from an untouchable distance. They aren't very tough however. Skyrays are great, a huge turn 1 alpha strike, and then a reliable source of hard to kill marker lights Don't feel like you're useless for having shot all your missiles, it just means you got all the value out of your main weapon turn 1 instead of requiring it to survive into the late game.
Nick: Devan could've won, a really tough nut to crack
Devan: They actually put up a fight, those fish people
Quality stuff guys!
This is literally the coolest table ever!!
Thank you! We agree. I probably like the orca used as terrain the best.
@@PlayOnTabletop i do that with my orca too! sadly its way better as terrain than as a functional unit lol
@@StevoE26 Knock about 100 points off it and it may be very viable. Ive done a one drop list with it before at small 1000 pt tournaments that have been a lot of fun.
agreed
I normally dont like abridged batreps, but this has changed my mind. When done right they cut out the chaff and make the game more enjoyable to watch.
I wish they would edit it to add graphics on top showing what’s going on (I’m new to the game)
Oh my god, you have dramatically improved the overall presentation of this series. Seriously, well done. This not only watchable but really entertaining.
"I want to play as the good guys"
S'Zarek: okay bud
That explosion animation at 27:07 made me change religion
heresy
Damn am I glad I found this channel. It’s the perfect cuppa coffee watching before list building.
Edit: “T’au are good guys”
+The Inquisition Desires to Know Your Location+
"I want to play the good guys"
*Plays 40k
I think this might be the wrong game for you.
In the grim darkness of the far future, there are only assholes.
But to be fair, 40k has some complete monsters like Chaos and Drukari, and compared to them such guys as Tau and Imperium of Man are "good" guys.
everyone's a good guy, some are just greater than the other (say this in a thick Tau accent)
The Tau are the least bad...
@@KazeKoichi You call the Imperium of Man "good" yet they have inquisitors. Then again, within the imperium overall, I'd say the "good" guys are most likely the space wolves and salamanders.
@@Zekrom249 Did you diagonal read me or something? How could you missed the memo completely? I thought I made my point crystal clear, but somehow there are people out here that managed to misunderstand.
That has to be one of the most beautiful, gorgeous Maps I've ever seen.
Thank you! We spent a lot of time on it.
I liked the Tau list (not saying that often :) )
I think Nick split fire a bit too much. Should have more focussed on getting unit by unit taken out rather than having multiple wounded enemy units left.
I literally have no idea what I am watching, but the production quality is amazing. Keep it up!
We hope you enjoyed it! More content in 2020 will go into what this actually is.
@@PlayOnTabletop I did and subbed
Wow, amazing looking armys and table! Never seen 40k in 40mins and it actually work, great job!
Thought the Chaos list was a lil cheesy in comparison to the Tau one, Tau took a new way to play and that was really fun to see. Non the less great report!!
I like the format, table, and armies.
I'd suggest keeping the music down just a little bit, but it was easy enough to follow.
The terrain and table is always super stellar! Great work guys! I really enjoy this battle Rep style. Having a commentator really helps.
Let me star by saying that map is so cool so kudos. Also 2 interesting lists. Always like seeing an aggressive tau list
Is it possible to cheer for both sides of the battle? Great guys, great production and I don't even know how to play this game.
Yes, absolutely, feel free.
I have played both these guys and they are both upstanding people and players. Yes, cheer for them both!
Well done! I would love to see some kill team too! cheers
Oh man, finally get to see some T'au in action
1:58 Love the conversion with the Katana haha
The production value on these is through the roof! Good work guys!
Still waiting for the day AdMech gets to fight in 40k in 30 minutes, i really like it so far!
production quality of these battle reports is hands down the best i've seen. Great work and keep pushing the boundaries, you guys will be massive one day.
Love the format and the players insight into their thoughts and win conditions!
First: Super cool content; battle reps that do not waste 3 hours of my time. I'm in.
Second: No one commented on the Editors note at 16:55? That one made me spit my beer at the laptop!
Keep up the good work. Cannot wait for the next season!
I'm really loving this format. You keep it interesting with the editing. Good job!
Thank you!
Awesome table, awesome painted armies, different lists. Love it!
First vid I've watched from you folks- production value really kept me in the game. Really good content (and well painted armies!)
These are the first battle reports I've really enjoyed watching! Amazing job!
Glad you enjoyed them!
I see another "Play On Tabletop" video and I get HELLA excited. Thank you guys for doing such an amazing job in all of your videos, I think everyone following/watching your videos can see how much passion you guys put into your videos.
The best and most polished production I've seen for a battle report! Quick, concise and captivating. Very well done
Thank you for that!
The production on this is just incredible
Adding the round summary page was a great idea! I really hope to see this feature more as it makes the round easier to follow, especially with the off camera moments
I LOVE the production effort you guys put in. I remember very clearly as a kit pouring over the battle reports in White Dwarf and the rulebooks etc. So crazy how far we have come since then.
Things definitely have evolved. It is still nice to in our adulthood still get crazy excited for new kits and game editions the way we did as kids.
These guys are great personalities, between that and the consistent production value on this channel this was an amazing watch.
Wow I love your content. New favorite place to watch battle reports.
Loved the lists both super unique! Well done battle report as well.
Keep up the good work guys, can’t wait to see this one!
Great batrep as always! I really liked the board on this one!
Such a good attitude! It makes it even more fun to watch! Awesome vid my Canadian friends!
Halfway into this video and already sharing it. This is a great format for BatReps!
Watched two batreps so far. Learned a LOT. Subscribed. You guys are awesome.
Thank you! Glad you learned a lot. We did too making these.
Thumbs up for blast template reference! lol
Anybody miss those? Haha
@@PlayOnTabletop - bet you could use them as coasters for cold drinks 🤔
:o
i love the muzzle effects and shield effects!!!! really cool!!!!
Best 40k batreps by a vast amounts. Thanks guys
Awesome table and T'au list 👍
We are glad it is such a hit!
its nice to see a batrep nowdays that is under 90 min...good job guys.
Another great video as always!
Awesome battle report again. Awesome armies & terrain
The players explaining their tactics, and the commentary from the presenter, plus all three being experienced players with their armies really set these battle report apart.
More non gunline Tau lists like this would be greatly appreciated.
The editing and quality of this video is amazing!!
Thanks! We’ve been working hard on it.
Really digging this style of report! It must take a lot of extra time during the game, but I dig the side interviews where the players explain their thought processes or lack thereof behind moves, get asked questions relevant in the moment, etc. The after turn summaries are great, and the editing is on point; turns and phases are short enough to keep it interesting, but long enough to cover the important bits. Most battle reports I put on in the background while I paint, play games, read, wash the dishes, take a nap... These, I actually watch. Good show!
PS: That's one sexy board. Snow levels are always my favorites, having vehicles as terrain provides an implied narrative angle to the battle (gotta buy time for the civilian transports to escape, or prevent them from taking off with a high value target!), and the LEDs around the landing platform is a fantastic touch.
"40K is 30 minutes...ish" should be new name of the show lol. Great batrep as always
Usually watching someone else play is quite boring, but you guys made it SO good. Both players are great personalities and make it super interesting, especially for newer players.
p.s.: go Tau!
Amazing video! The video Quality is really outstanding!
You guys make such great content, props to the editor and to the guy behind the scenes. Those environments are amazing!
Thanks! We are really glad you appreciate it!
So pumped to see how this match up goes
Great battle report! wow that Y'vhara is a monster on the tabletop, I might have to get one.
Excellent modeling, painting, and video editing. My only note, I get that you guys are trying to keep the time down on the video, but maybe spend some more time intro'ing the armies. Was gonna make a comment that Nick shouldn't be able to use the Sac'ea Stratagem if he's playing Bork'an until I checked the video description on my second watch. Was also gonna point out battlesuits don't blow up, but you guys already caught that on another comment.
If you keep this up, I think you guys could give Miniwargaming a run for there money, keep the great work up.
Look forward to more Tau vids. :)
Thanks for the notes. Maybe it’s a matter of just noting that the lists are on the descriptions. That might help! It does take a lot of time to go through both armies properly.
Play On Tabletop I think a quick pan over each unit would be nice at least. To people new to wh40k it’s fun to see them and the paint jobs, and often I can’t tell who owns what models... other than that, these vids are great! They r actually digestible for me!
Great video, the table was amazing!!
I‘m binge watching those videos. Absolutely love your work, absolutely love that game, absolutely love those plays. Good job guys.
And I don‘t even play Warhammer 40k
Plus I don‘t really know what‘s happening
Really enjoyable match up. Great banter and gameplay.
These two are always fun to play.
Wow- watched it all the way to the credits. This is something else. Well done! Even if was 3 turns. Fantastic guys.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it! We enjoy making them.
Absolutely LOVE the "40K in 30 minutes" format and HD editing.
Realy love your vids guys! Just started to play! Want to see more of the renegades!!
the guys you have on this channel always have the coolest looking armies hot damn. so well done.
I think their "house" armys and belong to the production team.
Kitten: *Hearing someone praising the Tau* AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
The Tau Empire doesn't care about the individual person, even their battlecry is "for the greater good"
They care about individuals.
They have better armor, safer plasma weapons and FW are better trained than guardsmen
@@yonashyankowsky That doesn't point towards the institution caring about the individual, it only shows that because their empire is much smaller they can manage and train a military more efficiently. Warhammer 40k is so grimdark because there is no good guys, only varying shades of instrumentality.
@@yonashyankowsky I don't see the connection between having safer plasma weapons, better armour, better trained infantry and caring about the individual. They have those because unlike the imperium, the tau innovate their technology and have much smaller armies so they can spare more time to train them. Their main ideology is "The Greater Good" where the needs of the group comes before the needs and rights of the individual, you're just another cog in the system not much different from the imperium.
Sure, the average civilian will have better living conditions and The Tau Empire actually evacuate their civilians, but you're still living in an authoritarian state where freedom and individual rights are cast aside in favor of the betterment of the empire. The Tau Empire may have morals and ethics and they won't slaughter defenceless civilians or use them as meat shields, but you can bet your ass they will sacrifice you as readily as any imperial governor if it means advancing the group in some way.
@@randomsmuck312 yeah the Tau are better imperials. I mean come on, nobody of the cant withstand a ethernal. I was so shocked at reading the farsight book, because one of them said to a fire warrior "kill yourself" and she (i mean it was a woman) did it.
with a tabletop scenery custom built like that! and those extra fluffy model gun firing conversions and defelector shields!! its actually visually stunning alone to see it on that particular battlefield just makes it omg!! amazing work put in
Thank you! We work hard at it. This table in particular was a lot of fun to put together
@@PlayOnTabletopmy brother got me into this game both 20yrs ago and again 2years ago, i have a huge collection of Sigmar and sigmar terrain like 6 wyldwoods a chaos bastion, malefic castle gate, a skull keep and some walls and broken dreadhold chaos walls, and abunch of the other sigmar terrains. i always wanted to make reports but im moving this summmer and will have to get rid of abunch of my armies and stuff so i hope to make a battle someday of decent quality before i move, this past summer i have once again delved into space wolves, and have been amassing a 40k collection of space wolves primaris stuff with repulsor and impulsor fully painted, adeptus custodes, and a couple mechanicus squads with dunerider
Just started playing Warhammer found you down the rabbit hole love the format. I just started making a tau army and this looks like a fun way to play the tau great job.
If you play against a good army you will be melted because losing all drones turn 1 exposes you, I play tau and I mix a gun line with squads of stealth battle suits that are minuses to hit and can move quickly for taking objectives
By far the best battle report i have ever watched
What a game! Also specially impressed by Nick's Tau playstyle (also;dat paint scheme tho)
One of the best bat raps I have seen. Most have the shaky hand cam and I find it REALLY hard to fallow unit placement which makes me lose interest. But yours was perfect, only zooming in when that unit was "selected" to do something. The overhead view and highlights are some of the best parts of this and really brings it together. Im now a fan and subbed to you.
Another great video guys
So vid this popped up in my suggested feed. HOLY COW glad I dropped in! Production is amazing! You have a new sub!
Awesome thanks for the sub!
Those are the best tau I’ve ever seen. That y’vahra is unbelievable
Really good batrep, very entertaining!
Beautifull armies, great quality batrep!
OMG! i didn't know Jeremy Jahns played 40K! awesome!
I never heard of Warhammer until a few days ago... since then, I've watched so many videos. This channel is amazing! Great shots, great commentary, etc. You really bring out the drama to the game. I'm hooked... now I need to get some friends and money so that I can begin playing... :)
When Nick says "Fantastic ! " makes me think of Shawn from Blue Table Painting lol
That T'au army looks phenomenal.
P.S. -Bless you Devin.
Praise Grandfather!
That table is UNREAL. Wow!
Great looking board guys, love the channel
Nick is very proud of his Tau airfield.
“Drat He’s been spotted” haha best joke xD
Really enjoyed both of these guys.
They are great competitiors and teammates for sure!
i love all the effects. So inspiring
Thanks. They are a fun addition.
Great production value and work folks, just gets better and better. I make sure to share these with all my non40k friends so they can see what they are missing.
That's awesome! And exactly what we want! Please spread the word far and wide :)
These videos are exceptional!
Nicholas’ introduction was same as mine. Dawn of war is a timeless classic. Emporer bless
Love this style of bat rep best on youtube
Nick plays Tau like a boxing movie. The champion looks down on our hero like he's just like anyone else, then the main character calls him out.
Champ is like: oh? OH!
The terrain is amazing!!!
Great format. No hijinks and giggling. In game commentary is meaningful and tight
Thanks! We've been trying hard to make this channel the best it could be.
Fantastic batrep as always guys
Thank you!! Glad you like it!!
Great battle report. Awesome board and painted models.
Thank you!! This one, in particular, is outstanding on the visuals :)
Just wait until the Play On Championships come out :)
