Shapovalov definitely has more flaire....beautiful to watch...especially his lefty single backhand ...awesome !!!
MY FRIENDS, WE'RE JUST SEEING THE BEGINNING OF A GREAT, STUNNING AND FIERCE RIVALRY OF TENNIS...
Davi Pedro future nadal and federer
If that's the case I'm not excited
I think it will be Zverev and Thiem
@@atptouracademy1121 Medvedev and... FAA??
Eh
hopefully these two turn out to be the federer and nadal of this generation i really need a reason to enjoy watching tennis again
i agree love watching these two theyre a match to watch
That didn’t age well
I'm sure that Shapovalov really hates tie-break.
Actually, he excels in TBs and has won 57% of TBs he played on ATP starting from last year. He also won the 2 most important TBs of his career which first came against Dutra Silva where he saved 4 match points, and then ultimately the 3rd set against Nadal (where he was also 3-0 down in the scoreline). So when it matters most he's very clutch and finds a way. He just happened to have lost the last 5 TBs that he played, but it's really no big deal since he still wins the majority of them.
@@along1298 Well, I'll never forget wen he lost in 3 sets to Carreño Busta in 3 tiebreaks!!
I love the passion of every player trying to win this cup. Very enjoyable to watch this format of competition and hoping for a Roger-Rafa doubles match, possibly on Sunday.
Diego Artazcoz very strange that borg didn't put them together today, berdych was Just horrible in the double.
De slappe Slavink no doubt that berdych wasnt great but he does not play doubles at all and Rafa is probably the best doubles player inside the top 20. Maybe he is keeping the dream doubles pair for last day
You know everything is about marketing.
Diego Artazcoz Yeah I know Rafa is great at doubling so Why not pair him up with thiem or something
De slappe Slavink no idea. For sure Borg knows why he have done it that way. Maybe he focused on the singles today trying to get all the wins there and have the advantage for tomorrow.
israeli born Russian-Israeli-Canadian versus german born Russian-German lol so global
Русские - они такие))
Russians everywhere 👀

These guys and Thiem are the future
thiem is not very young now
And Felix
and Medvedev
Shapovalov is incredibly talented and has a very good attitude on the court. He and Zverev are the future of tennis!! his style of play is amazing, giving 100% (and more) for every ball. Excellent match.
I swear zverev is the best player at saving break, set and match points
Žiga Ademovič no it’s Federer this year
Getting back up from love 40 was pretty clutch from shapovalov tho
He defended all the break points like a boss. What a monster!
Very clutch! Has done that in 3 consecutive events, starting from Carreno Busta in 3rd set when he was serving to stay in it, then against Ramanathan at 5-6 in the 2nd set, and now once AGAIN here in his 3rd consecutive event. At 18, that's beyond outstanding for a guy who doesn't have Isner like serves.
He serves best under pressure
18 years old and already going toe-to-toe with A. Zverev, not to mention having beaten Rafael Nadal already. This kid has some serious potential.
The T-10 He got lucky against Nadal. Zverev will be around for a long time; Shapovalov no so much. He lacks the shotmaking variety and the killer instinct to put it away.
the victory against nadal was lucky, nadal played at 10% of his game
U
Shapovalov not winning a tiebreak , who could believe it ?
tennis is like life. shapovalov looking for every chance to move forward, zverev content to stay back.
So high quality
This generations tennis stars. Shapovalov is basically a left-handed federer and Shapovalov is like Cilic sort of I guess. Kyrgios is that rage guy that each tennis generation always has.
I like Zverev so much. His game is so exciting.
rivalry of the future
On paper, this is a tight match that could go either way. So, I'm glad to see the result. This is a rivalry I'd love to see develop over the next couple seasons. I can definitely see these two rising to the top of the game, going one, two.
I could watch Laver Cup reruns until the middle of January. Without SamTennis I would have died by now.
Two future legends.
Zverev-Shapovalov will be the new Nadal-Federer.
Lilybeth Conde except sort of lopsided because shapalov is a leftie and a single handed backhander
Abstar Galaxy thats why he said Nadal-Federer
Amyrul Danish my point was that they would be switching traits. Zverev right handed but double handed backhand and Shapovalov left handed with one handed backhand
MORE NADAL-DJOKOVIC
Who is Nadal?
Laver Cup brings out such interesting dynamic between the players. I never knew these players could get behind each other's backs so easily once they're on the same team. Never knew some of these players are so close until this
Jeez The next gen stars are born. They were firing all these days and I think with this match they have stamped the authority that they are going to be the future federer and nadal. What an amazing match. Shapovalov though he lost the match looks the classier of the two. Shapovalov is the left handed Junior federer and Zverev using more of muscle power is the Right handed Junior Nadal.

“User has left the game “
(Shapovalov)
🤤🤤🤤
Esses dois jogadores, em breve serão os números 1 e 2 do tênis mundial. Jogam muito, que partida linda fizeram nesse primeiro torneio Laver Cup de 2017. Parabéns
Watched and loved tennis since the '60's and already a huge fan of Shapo. A tip of the chapeau to Denis.
MAGIC SACHA!!!!
Federer to zverev at 5 4 in the 2nd set:
If you want to be called a goat like me go get some match points then try to lose them all with stupid errors.
Thomas brunkle hahaha
great match
Lmao the woman behind the line judge when Zverev fell over 😂😂
They have much room to improve and I think they will.. and when they will, they will win multiple grandslam surely.. the beginning of a fierce rivalry which will dominate tennis after the departure of Fedal..
interesting and beautiful moment in the end with Shapo and Bjorn Borg. These retired legends love the current players so much, maybe especially the really young ones, and maybe especially the really good guys, like Shap. I don't think Shapovalov quite grasped the magnitude of the moment, there (something which Federer really has a feel for, and the respect and profound class to honor in the moment), but it's understandable. he just lost a tough one, ATP official tournament or not. (Actually, this tournament is fascinatingly meaningful in mysterious ways - yes, there are no points, and no ATP officialness - but there is something deeper about it; something to do with the fact that it is a tournament organized purely to beneficently, selflessly honor the past greats of the sport - for selfless, generous reasons. It really is Divine. This is why players love this tournament, and why they play as hard as they do.
Man it's like in the past this court
Iam calling it now...Next gen ATP finals will be between these 2
Don't forget Thiem and Kyrgios too
Both are ineligible to compete for that event being aged more than 20.. i know it sounds crazy but that's how it's gonna be..
Zverev is probably playing WTF tough
You're partially correct. Zverev will be a contender for many years to come. Shapovalov doesn't have the finesse, arsenal of shots or he mental toughness to go deep in the Slams or even the Masters.
What a comeback from Shapovalov on round 10. Classic shapo
Is it just me? This court color and lack of contrast literally hurts my eyes.
Sad because these are solid matches.
Yes, looks like they're playing on dried dung, very ugly.
Future Federer and Nadal
これが未来のNo.1対決だな
それにしてもシャポバロフネットプレー上手くなった
貴大 ほんとそれ思います
Let's not talk about talent or whatever. Zverev, the way he has that huge power, if he can stabilize his game and have more consistency like Djokovic does, he'll be very very difficult to beat in the future. Shapovalov though is much more exciting to watch since he's able to use the wide angle so well and is very clutch under pressure, that's a good bearing of a Champion. He just need to mature his mentality under pressure more like in the Tie-breaks and he'll be off to a great career surely.
Tennis' next big Two!
Zverev is my favorite but Shapovalov is also very good, so exciting to watch him, I think a great rivalry had just started.
Also, I hope they never use this court again, I didn't like it
Denis got some beautiful foot work he will be on top soon if he stays injury free
With more experience, he will play a more intelligent tennis or at this rate, he will surely injure himself.
Shapovalov has the most fluid strokes after federer .
Without any question these two are the reincarnation of Borg-McEnroe...cos Bjorn is right handed and double handed backhand while Dennis is left handed and single handed backhand.... beginning of New Ice & Fire
I have huge hopes for these two, and a potential rivalry. But same as with Fedal I will always root for Sascha like I do with Federer.
This is like a left handed mix of Federer and Gasquet versus a better serving Djokovic. Both are promising.
These two are like the future Fedal. Hope they'll mold the image of tennis like Rog and Rafa have.
The Borg-McEnroe type or Sampras-Agassi type would be OK too tho...
Agreed.
R
Shapovalov's shoes are awesome
Sapovalov es un tenista que se merece ganar todooooo
Upcoming future #Fedal
Nobody can match #Federer #Nadal but looks like similar rivalry
Alexander's forehand is much weaker compares to his backhand.
denis is as agresive as roger and is retrieving quite good.he has all the prospect for the next big thing
Such a good match.. So sad to Shapovalov
豪華やな〜。w
My does zverev check the lines every time he gets aced like jeez
Shapo has ALL the tools. Now he needs some serious match toughness.
Why do many players ask for a towel after every single point? Do they really sweat that much?
You can tell Federer's advice for "getting back on the baseline after the return of serve" is working lol
Edit: I'm being legit ignore the time he tripped and stuff sorry lol
The Young hope vs The Young Hope
goddam alex he missed like 5 match points
quay quayy except that he didn't tho
Does anyone else think zverev and gasquet have similar forehand techniques?
why Dimitrov and Anderson didn't choose too.
second set: from 5-4 and 40-0?????why 5-5
What is this, team Europe vs. team "rest of the world"? 😂
Yep boi
Before I get to the tennis, what in the world did the European bench say and do at 8:30? It was like a bunch of 3rd graders!
As for the tennis, I think it's highly likely that these two will be the dominant men's tennis stars in 3 or 4 years. It's very exciting that they are both players in the Federer mold. Both have well-rounded games, can cover a ton of ground, play great defense, can do well at the net, can create WOW shots, and have strong serves (with both still to get stronger) - and they are also both tall and handsome. This is certainly a lot more fun to watch than a Raonic-Cilic 130 mile/hr serving slugfest. Hopefully, Shapovalov will reduce his unforced errors and both will get a little stronger.
Leo Smart
The floor is lava!
Thanks, that's what it sounded like to me too. But what in the world does that mean?
Why is Zverev using the Instinct now?
Dude in the red hits hit straight back to the blue guy every time geez.
Nobody on Team Europe seemed happy for Zverev LOL
Shapovalos is the more complete player for sure , he is the more talented player
Ertugrul Körpinar feel the same way. Zverevs great with his serve nd overall ground game, but i feel the canadian has that special thing about him. He could rly develop some weapons wit his game
I agree sm w you tooooo, overall I feel that shapovalov plays cleaner than zverev
zverev is more complete and the more talented player tho
Nick P no he isn't
yes! Let's wait until Shapovalov wins something before calling him better than Zverev.
Shapovalov reminds me of youth Gasquet. Gasquet's forehand gradually got worse though.
Woonghee Lee
got the same feeling, look at that backhand
is zverev's racket instinct mp?
MP Speed Pro I think. But tennis-warehouse.com has a list of pro players and their gear if you really want to know
It's the new Speed Touch MP LTD PJ
arigatou934 Yes, he changed it to the Instinct MP.
I dislike zverev a little more each time I watch his matches. Love Shapo, though. (Or, as I always preferred to say it - Shappy). I wish him all the best. Let me tell you: even if Shap wins only one major in his entire career, it will mean eons more than zverev's if he gets a dozen. (I do think Shappy will win a few, and Zverev will probably get close to ten). … I saw Zverev play live, once, by the way - at the last US Open. He is a lot bigger than he looks on TV! A lot. Not nearly as skinny as he appears on TV. It's weird, actually.
Team Us is getting their asses whooped on day 1
Its team world ! Not US
Oh yeah I forgot. Most of the team is us tho
i mean what did you expect lolll
Next year the team will be better with Delpo, Kyrgios, Nishikori. But Europe will be unbeatable with Stan, Novak, Andy, Rafa, Roger. Team EU will basically be the big five.
its not team US...its the ROW
Shapovalov is the future of tennis. Not Zverev.
Oscar Derouette both
Oscar Derouette No. Zverev is future of tennis. Not Shapovalov.
Strongly disagree haha. Zverev is really fucking good but Shapovalov is a fucking genius. They will both be in top 3 anyway, that's just my opinion ^^
Oscar Derouette I also totally disagree with you. Both are great future. but Next 1 is Zverev My opinion.^^
Louis Miller fuck u
Русский матч.
Shapavalov will be the next Federer.
Rather watch Valov then boring ass Verev
