Most of the time it's contactless payment in Europe, but I think it can depend on your card. Won't be there on Saturday, but maybe I will bump into you on the days before Stella :)

I have lived in Germany for the past five years, and this only cash is very common.
But it is getting better after the covid, not sure if it is related, but to be honest, i never go to essen without having enough cash with me.
On the other question, no, it is never ever happens (at least I've never seen) someone asks for your card to pay for you. you do it for yourself (tap or even using the old put the card in and enter your password )

Thanks Stella and Tarrant. So many games on your list that appeal to me (= I need to sell more games to make space and to fund new games). I hope they don't take too long to release for wider distribution - new games take forever to get to NZ and we are always 2nd behind Aussie (sports included ;). I always love how succinct and timely your content is. 👍👍
Hello friend! :) Hahaha right! I think we need to cull some too, we have a room dedicated for board game storage already lol. I think Australian/New Zealand distributors are getting better these days - like Great Western Trail New Zealand and Spellbook for example. Thank you soooo much for visit and kind words🙏🙏

I definitely have a bit of overlap with you (Pirates of Maracaibo, Forest Shuffle, Kutna Hora, Nucleum, Evacuation, World Wonders, Planta Nubo & Rats of Wistar, and had they had copies I would definitely have gotten both High Season and From the Moon), big Simone Luciani fan, so I'm basically hunting down everything I can find by him, so I also have Anunnaki and Sea Dragons on the list as well. And I love Boonlake, so of course I'm getting the expansion. And had I not already ordered it locally, I would have hunted down a copy of Age of Innovation as Terra Mystica is my favourite game of them all :D

Even fall looks good and I’m hanging out to try Nucleum, but something brand new is what I’d really seek out. Footprints looks nice. I’m with Tarrant with the unforgiving side. Apparently Germany is still strong with cash, probably 50/50. Save a General Orders too!

Aww thanks so much! I llike it coz it's comfy, and prop up the games as sometimes we need to hold games (for our top games of the month video for example) - so it gives a bit of height so people can see better :)
Pirates is so good! We already have the playthrough on TTS with Alex Pfister and Ryan Hendrickson.
Most payments in Europe are debit cards using NFC. That's either by card, phone or watch. Germans still use a lot of cash for some reason (a cultural thing), but happily more and more booths at Spiel are doing card payments now 😅

@@MeepleUniversity no worries, but don't misunderstand, a lot of booths still only accept cash, it's just that it is slowly getting better. I don't know why Germany is so far behind the rest of western Europe in this regard tbh, as a Dutchy I haven't used cash for anything in years, I only use it in Germany during Essen Spiel 😅

What 's with the cushion?
It's so comfortable! I am used to have it on me coz we do other videos where we hold the board games, and the cusion provide a thing to prop it up a bit more hehe
Last year some stands who didn't offer cardpay at least offered paying via Paypal. But most of the stands offer cardpay today. There are really only a small amount who only take cash. I think I didn't even pay a single game I bought last year with cash.
