My Favorite Martial Arts Fights - part 2!

- I became a fan of the cheesy kung fu and karate movies that tortured us in the 70s and 80s, and have many of them on tape. Here are some of my favorite fight scenes from many of these movies - in some cases, these fight scenes are ALL I kept from some of these movies, and the quality varies from 80s-cable reception to DVD.
Here in part 2, we have the final fight scene from "Lone Wolf McQuade," between Chuck Norris and the late David Carradine, who of course starred in the 1970s series "Kung Fu." I edited this clip quite a bit to remove a lot of "reaction" shots from other people watching the fight. The organ music in this clip is horrible, and belongs in a Dracula movie!!
Next is a long scene from 1973's "Enter the Dragon," the quintessential Bruce Lee karate movie. We have John Saxon punching the daylights out of Bolo Yeung, who is a Chinese martial artist in his own right, followed by a scene of Bruce Lee going wild!
And lastly, we have the big fight scene from "Road House" starring Patrick Swayze, from 1989, sparring with Mashall Teague.
These last two clips are directly from DVD and should look great!! - Zábava
I was working as a pit musician playing guitar some decades ago, and David carradine's daughter was in the cast. During intermission I went and took a break I wasn't coming on for several minutes into the next ACT, and I was walking through the lobby and there was David Carradine. I've worked with many famous people and crossed paths with celebrities but I made sure to say hello and nice to see you and went on my way I didn't want to bother him or gush over my fandom.
The guy in the middle of the picture at 5:05 was so impressed with Bruce Lee’s moves that he forgot he was in a movie.
😂
This is a real epic vintage fight … which I will never get tired of watching 😮👍👍👀🙌👏👏 I applaud Bruce Lee and Robert Wall
I've always been impressed how the bad guy from Enter the Dragon remembered all the names of his employees
The most amazing thing about John Saxon's scenes in Enter the Dragon was that he never lost that bad hair piece.
I read an account by Chuck Norris about the filming of this fight scene. Carradine kept really hitting Chuck during takes. Chuck said he told him to watch his control and when Carradine hit him again Chuck clocked him for real and they left the footage in the finished movie. If you look at the 2:29 mark (they slo-mo it) you can see Carradine's head wobble from the full contact punch Chuck delivers. (check the blank look it Carradine's eyes) Ya gotta love it.
Why would Carradine want to take the chance of Chuck getting mad and really kicking and punching him?
@@lyndonbritt3728 because he knows he's a fraud.
@@lyndonbritt3728 Because he was an arrogant, stupid, self centered doper--who thought he was protected from Chuck by the crew.
Norris has stated this “David is as Good in Martial Arts as I am a Actor”.
And that says a lot.
@@digipeeper That says it ALL.
Thanks 👍🏻😊
And that reverse back kick shows how he perfectly trained
My favorite Chuck Norris movie! I have this on dvd, legend.
King Diamond He was my martial arts idol and the one who inspired me to get into it so I’ve seen and have probably every movie he ever made.

EXCELLENT CHOICES! Damn...I feel old. I was in my 20s when I first saw all these classics. I'm 52 now...

@@rauljuarez3884 Sucks...doesn't it...
When your old enough to say you've seen these films at the theater 👴👴👴 53 years old
Man, those are all awesome.
I love David's cardigan sweater ! Just fits the whole skeam!
jAKO.PEREZ
You can tell how good/fluid the choreography is by how many times the cameras cuts during the fight scene.
One of the main things I love about these old martial arts flicks is the sound effects.
yes just like you love my dk sound effects too on your face.
RIP John Saxon. Wonderful actor
He lived a long life r.i.p.
A very very natural actor!
Did John Saxon know Martial Arts? 🥋
@@doylewilson20 as an actor he knew the basic techniques of fighting, I'm sure.
@@doylewilson20 I heard he had a black belt, I forget the source at this moment.
The most incredible part of Enter the Dragon was that the head villain could remember each and every one of the 40+ goons he called out to attack Bruce Lee and John Saxon.
That shows he's a good boss to work for. A lot of bosses don't remember their underlings names, nor do they even care.
They were not worth it
watch a movie called kentucky fried movie its throws off at enter the dragon the old guy sings out to attack bruce lee....ung chow ming cheng weng chung haha funny
I know some parents who can't remember all of their kids names. 🤣
@@codzy3532 hahahahaha can you giv the exact, wat do you call tat,.. time, minutes tis Ung Chow ming.. thing 🤣
Watching this fight scene, I secretly imagine David Carradine still in his Kung-Fu Caine role fighting Chuck Norris. 😂
Mc Quade's music really apes Ennio Morricone,n even stealing some notes from "The good, the bad and the ugly" in the main theme…
Bruce Lee, Chuck Norris, Bolo Yeung, David and Jean Claude Vandamm are for me the really best Martial art Fighter!!
CARADINE , IS AN ACTOR , NOT A REAL , MARTIAL ARTIS !!!!
THANKS 🙏
I cant help but laugh when he starts calling out all the names of the fighters to jump in.
YES!!!!!!!AMAZING SCENE BETWEEN 2 LEGENDS. Chucks iconic reverse punch is classic

They hated each other and that fight was totally real. The director said he got so much footage because after he said action, the fight was on.
2 legends? Caradine doesnt even know any martial art. So many people think he is important in the history of martial art movie just because he starred in Kung Fu.
mcquade was a fav of my childhood..the music was just awesome even today. driving around in that bronco looked cool. caradine makes a good villain.
Originally Jim Kelly was supposed to have the climactic fight with Bolo, and Saxons character was supposed to have been killed earlier. However, Saxon was a “name” actor and had a high salary, so the producers wanted him to appear for as long as possible in the film. Too bad, as a Kelly/Bolo fight would have been epic
I heard about this and basically it was kind of racist, but however I thought it was Bruce Lee who was originally supposed to fight Bolo in ETD not Jim Kelly
@@ericfarrar9185 Yes Bruce was suppose to fight him but after some incidents he left the scene and they had to get him back and so he came back but would not do it
Who did he had an incident with?
@@ericfarrar9185 Bolo and Bruce had a fight and it became from just sparring to more serious, also Bolo like Bruce was challenged on the Set by some people but he did not reply, after seing Bruce reply and fight some though he did the same with a couple of Extras and Knocked them out.
Su último fil..del pequeño Dragon la que filmó antes de su muerte una producción de Hooliwudth
I think Carradine actually began to believe that he really was Kwai Chang Caine...
He was Kung Foo: the man could walk through walls. Looked for he cannot be seen, reached for he cannot be touched.
I read he really lost the plot after Death Race 2000
Fantastic soundtrack!
Nothing beats Enter The Dragon Bruce Lee made that movie a Big Hit and not only that John Saxon and Jim Kelly also made some noise right along with it
Hahahahhahahaha when you really believe to a directed martial artist... Hahahahha
Roadhouse. One of my fav guilty pleasure films! LoL.
For all you Bruce Lee disciples. I've watched a ton of his movie clips...and they are actually laughable as well as unbelievable. This actually has some sense of realness to it.
The only realism in this clip is that Carradine (who I loved on Kung Fu) obviously had zero martial arts experience, as can be seen by his appalling technique when attempting kicks despite being lower than waist height! Great actor, crap martial artist. Chuck Norris was a real champion who could kick your head off with a spinning back kick before you even saw it coming, he just did whatever the director told him to do, which is why this fight scene is so appalling.
Love the argyle sweater.
Bonjour à vous vlqu'unois que
David Carradine was a good actor but knew nothing about martial arts prior to playing the role of Cain in Kung Fu but some how thought portraying a Kung Fu master made him one, plus Norris told in an interview once that David's timing during the fight sequences for Lone Wolf McQuade was way off.
Yes but he played that role for 3 years under the tutelage of kam yuen and David Chow so he knew a little something about it when he did this scene.
He was an 18.5 degree black belt
@@garysnow1475 He progressed and even hard. He frequented Kung-fu halls for some time. We could have easily given him a 4th dan. In certain scenes for realism the shots were real and Chuck Norris said about him in an interview that he was stunned by certain shots!
Let's roll Kato! Oh no wait...wrong film...well Bruce Lee has always been the hero so that's my favorite scene! But I also knew of Patrick Swayze. He was really good in fighting
Those were HILARIOUS.... err... I mean those were just so cool! 😆 😆 😆!
They are great martial artists but Bruce Lee is the best of all time
Bruce Lee was amazing, but he was an actor in scripted movies, Chuck Norris was an actual world champion in real fights. I would love to see a real fight between Chuck Norris and Bruce Lee, it would be amazing.
@@johnbarton2454 Im sure chuck Norris said, Bruce lee was the only man who beat him in a fight!...Could be urban myth or me making it up?
@Nepp Crash
NO HE DOESNT
YOU IDIOT
@@johnbarton2454, Chuck Norris was one of Bruce Lee's students. That should tell you who was better.
You think carradine is a great martial artist? Lmao 🤦♂️
David Carradine actually survived the fight he later changed his name to Bill and founded the most dangerous assassin organization the world have ever known. He mastered the art of the sword and finally met his end under the five point palm exploding heart technique of Beatrix Kiddo. While Chuck Norris moved to Texas and became a ranger and he once told the kid that saw dead people he has AIDS. Chuck sometimes left Texas to help out the aging Rambo, the sagging Conan the Terminator, the reformed Russian boxer and the cool fancy car transporter with their missions. There that’s the wrap
In the end the bride gets him 😉
I applaud your knowledge! Few people know the TRUE story!

Excelentes excenas gracias, saludos desde Venezuela 13-03-19..
This was great
Hey Keith, Norris was my teacher in late 1975 to 1979, Him and 4 of his Understudies. If it was not for Mr. Norris I would have died in Sep. 7th, 1996. Our home had a Full shoot out, in Our family home, by A Bad Cop & crime syndicate. Close quarter combat, His training saved my life.
David was a dancer and had no martial art training. Only after taking the grasshopper role, did he start doing martial arts. His Snake technique is really more of a show than a king fu style.
preying mantis style
He progressed and even hard. He frequented Kung-fu halls for some time. We could have easily given him a 4th dan. In certain scenes for realism the shots were real and Chuck Norris said about him in an interview that he was stunned by certain shots!
Esa si es una épica batalla Gracias por compartirlo
Chuck got mad at Carradine for stealing his dad’s Sunday sweater
The organ music is epic 🎉!!!
Love the organ theme for David Carradine.. back then he was known for the Kung fu series but i always preferred him in his driving movies Death Race 2000 Cannonball and Safari 3000.
Did you who teached to david carradine tecniques ? Was bruce lee ..infact bruce teached to many actors in swventies.
@@giancarlodragonetti9100 Carradine was likely taught some basic things from the Gung Fu consultants on the Kung Fu series. He was the first to admit he was not a martial arts expert by any means. It was just a part he played in a series. He wouldn't have had a chance against Chuck Norris.
That younger girl in Lone Wolf McQuade has really faced some tough opponents over the years. She gets David Carraidine here - one of the toughest living humans ever. And then she goes on to face Jason Voorhees - one of the toughest undead humans ever. She ends up with victories over both of them, though. She seriously needs to be in some sort of Hall of Fame for this type of stuff.
When I look to ld video's fight scenes
Are you kidding, Carradine was a clown and phoney on a good day.
Behave, toughest living human ever 🤣🤣🤣. Brilliant sense of humour you have. 👏
@@MacRambles yeah, he and mr. Steven S.
Just seeing this CZcams video. I've seen the movie many times. Cwazie David Carradine really knew little about Martial arts. But he starred in Kung Fu, a role that Bruce was suppose to play. Best Chuck Noris movie and fight scene. Both were great in it
I used to have a sweater just like the one Carradine is wearing in this clip. I really miss that sweater.
Chuck Norris was the first to fly around the planet after becoming angry. He did this before Superman. In fact, it occured after the little girl was struck. He just did it faster than the speed of light.
I would definitely add in Billy Jacks fight scene in the park. He somehow comes across as a bad ass even when he gets beat up.
Ban Su Han did all those kicks in Billy Jack
@@timratcliff6590 Yeah you can even see it's not Tom Laughlin in some of the slow motion clips, but it's the story and the moment.
Haha nice to see old movies again 😂
Great fight scenes and I'm glad someone finally put Patrick swayze up there a really great actor who doesn't get the recognition he should. But I don't know what the doctor was doing checking he's eyes to see if he was dead, HELLO he's just had he's Throat ripped out i think it's quite safe to say he's dead. But if by some Miracle he survived at least he won't be talking to anyone.
The fight between David Carradine and Chuck Norris is only notable for the fact that Carradine obviously knew zilch about martial arts and couldn’t fight his way out of a wet paper bag. I believe he kept contacting Norris during rehearsal until the latter had to teach him a lesson. It’s a shame Norris didn’t roundhouse kick him to the head for real.
And to think they used Carradine for Kung Fu instead of Bruce Lee.
@@obi-potobi790 because of the bias against Asians in “ Hollywood “
@@xylsvos yeah, racism. They didn't want or think an Asian actor could carry an American show. How wrong they were. Imagine Kung Fu with Bruce instead of Carradine, it would have been 10 times better. I believe the idea for the show was Bruces too.
@@obi-potobi790 it was Bruce’s idea
David Carradine was a ballroom dancer he didn’t know diddly squat about the martial arts
I dont understand so many people take the Kung Fu series as an one of the jewel in martial art movie history. I never like the fight scenes in that series.
Mh, John saxon was REALLY NOT BAD !!
Carradine clearly has a secret weapon that gives him more power than his opponents - the classic cardigan sweater!
David Carradine's sweater sure took a pounding.
Kwai Chang Caine meets Lone Wolf McQuade it almost doesn't get any better than this
Carradine vs Norris fight is so utterly realistic compared to the era. Preferably low kicks, much puncing, after a few punch, they are struggeling, bleeding instantly. Cheap shots, dirt, etc. So much better and quality.
The 2nd fight is way more realistic I mean it has alotta things you see in mma & other combat sports. There's low kicks, round houses, counter punches. Saxon works his jab 1 of the most used strikes in combat sports, there's a judo throw with a reversal, Saxon does an upkick something that we see alot in mma & even seen some ppl get K.O'ed by it.
SAID NO ONE EVER
Eye roll.
Maybe...
If Chuck had Bill 'Super-foot' Wallace instead of David Carradine in this scene.
But, NNnnoooOO.
Bruce Lee had given us more. He actually had accomplished martial arts masters:
Dan Inosanto - a 4 time Black Belt Hall of Fame Inductee
Ji Han-Jae - Korean Hapkido Master
Bob Wall - Karate Martial Arts Master
Hwang In-Shik - Hapkido Grandmaster
And last but not least:
Chuck Norris - multiple All-American/World Karate Championships
Another one that gets overlooked is the "I'm gonna take this foot and whop you on that side of your face" scene in "Billy Jack". Tom Laughlin had the Grand Master of Hapkido Han Bong-soo in his fight scene.
The Roadhouse fight was really great forgot how good that was
This was a great movie! David Caradine was a dancer by profession later learned martial arts through Kung Fu series. This was Chuck Norris as his best in the movies.
Yes,early episodes of Kung Fu,David's martial arts skilled were rudimental, (to be polite), later episodes, you could see he'd had some training.
I love so much this soundtrack!
The carradine vs norris should be on guiness book for the best fight choreography in the film history!
M
it was one of my fave fights, but it isnt the best ever
PLEASE! I HOPE TERRY SILVER VS JOHN KREESE WILL BE AS EPIC AS THIS😮
Ooh, David’s character cross the line with that back strike to that lady’s noggin. Sean Connery chimes in “ my dear fellow, not closed fist, just an open handed backward wack to the face!”

@@nightfangs2910 Sorry, but it isn't real.
Bruce Lee was the martial arts legend and icon of his generation and future generations. However David Carradine was simply in a league of his own. They had to slow the camera because his speed was superhuman. At the end of scenes, he had to stay still so they can actually see him walking aimlessly into the sunset.

Hey everybody when I was watching this I was like WHAT?
Roadhouse? But never saw that unedited clip before. So 👍
David Carradine (Kung fu) vs Chuck Norris (Karate)
Tang soo do
Carradine was a good actor. He new exactly squat about martial arts, but he still did a whole career by just acting them. Lone Wolf McQuade is my favourite Norris movies. It's because of McQuade's vulnerability. First he is an arrogant and cocky SOB, who then gets creamed and realizes that he is just a human - just a man (it also helps that I like Spagethi Westerns and the whole Man With No Name thing). Rest of the Norris franchise just helped to create the whole Norris meme scene.
When the Vietnam war and my phone ring-tone and s kung fu movie go together. I must say, 200 times better than the mass fight scene where Batman fights Bane.
*_Esta Es Una Joya De Escena_*

Ninguém encara Bruce Lee ele e bom demais
Carradine waving his arms around like that comes off as overtly showy and ineffectual. His physicality doesn't suggest anything of note either. I get that this was the allure of the times. Loved that Carradine series though. I also feel Bruce was in control of all his shots except when the camera cut at the end where he bent down to finish off that last opponent. That was an uncharacteristic move. I thought the Roadhouse fight was modern and very realistic. Well done, nice selection.
