Looking forward to the video 25 years from now when the 8-Bit Guy retrobrites this vintage cabinet.
A 75 years old David retrobrighting his own cabinet
I think that should be his brother GeekPub to do the jobs, after all he the one who built it.
Nothing to probably retrobrite? (Not sure about the longevity of the vinyl)
@@gmcnewlook I think it was a joke :). (but maybe the buttons?)
And fellow YTer Adrian Black trying to figure out why the Amiga board is behaving. XD
The Murray bros attention to detail when it comes to either their builds or restorations on computers are simply exquisite. Man I wish I could have a cab and a vintage PC done by em. I'd have to get a place with more room tho. 😂
Move over Parker Brothers
The Murray Brothers are taking over.
Nothing a few thousand bucks can't fix.
paper clip power supply
This is crazy, I was thinking the whole time watching the video, that they could be brothers... Same type of voice and they also move a little like the same way. Fine to have another channel to subscribe :D
@@Technokrat1981 yeah, I was too, like "how and why did he copy David's intonation so well?", and then I realised 😂😂
UPDATE: The monitor has been repaired and the game is back in service.
We decided the world needed a PETSCII Robots arcade cabinet. After it all the other releases it just seemed fitting!
@@lovedfriend2020 Ya! I can't find anything on either of their channels

@Michael Arnold He said there would be a link WHEN the unit was back in the arcade!
@@bellshooter I think Michael and I are currently looking for the first video that he mentioned also incorrect he said there will be a link that you can click on and check everyday to see when it'll be back. I'm sure it's probably a homemade website that says unfortunately it's still broken or something!
Wow! Those decals and graphics turned out way better than I had hoped! Excellent work guys! 🤩🤓😁
Looks like you have many talents, Anders!
Yeah great work Anders.
Great job Anders!
I was surprised, knowing your name for cool retro music so far, I was not aware that you are also skilled when it comes to graphics design. Great job!
I’m just glad to see this guy support a small CZcamsr by helping with the cabinet. I think this 8 bit guy could really be huge one day.
One thing that is to be said for the Murray brothers: they show when things go wrong as well as when they go right. I look forward to seeing how the screen issue will be solved.
Absolutely. This is real life, not the Kardashians!! 🤪
@@TheGeekPub Thank God!
This has got to be one of the coolest things I have ever seen. Our team actually discussed building an arcade machine for one of our own games and this video has definitely reinvigorated that desire. The world needs more cabinets like these.
This is amazing. David's brother is as good a carpenter as he is a computer programmer. What are the odds so much talent would be in one family?
And he sounds exactly like his brother, just a bit deeper :D
I love how both brothers can work together to get projects done. The two powerhouses of retro youtube :)
It’s really nice to see this guy support a smaller CZcamsr and help so much with the cabinet. I bet this 8 bit guy could be really popular one day.
Tee hee. Nice trolling.
A code based save system might be a cool feature to implement (if possible) on the arcade machine in the future.
This must have been surreal for David/The 8-Bit Guy to have an arcade cabinet based on his game being built and put in place at an arcade. Awesome work you guys, and congrats! :D
It was his idea, geekpub is his brother, and he talked to the arcade owner. Probably less surreal, but yes, surreal.
That pneumatic nailgun really made me appreciate just how much hammering carpenters used to have to do until recently. Even sped-up, it’s clearly much simpler, easier, and more reliable. I used to think blacksmithing had to involve the most hammering pre-industrial revolution, but now I’m not so sure!
Amen, driving nails requires lots of muscle memory and the proper hammer. It's amazing how hard it is to drive a nail with the wrong hammer.
@@willallen7757 even just a different hammer of the right type can throw you off.
How many people can say that they not only coded the game, but built the arcade cabinet for the game too? Eventually, when the game is running on the X16, they can say they built the computer, coded the game, and fabricated the cabinet. What an accomplishment.
As some people say "There are many forms of art"
Excellent work you did in that cabinet
I found myself smiling with a stupid smile when the finished unit was installed in the arcade. As if I was part of it all. This has been so awesome!! What an accomplishment for you, guys! So, so awesome!
Now this is craftsmanship! Well done!
So glad I watched till the end.
Super Murray Bros in action!
I love these how-to videos that use industrial-grade equipment.
So cool to see an Amiga at the heart of this cabinet!
Really enjoyed this episode!! I just stumbled onto this channel! As somebody that collects, restores and documents the arcade game / pinball experience it's so great to see other channels take this stuff on! Sweet!!!!
That cabinet is a work of art. Hammering in that t-moulding looks so satisfying.
You make me think of Alain, My old french friend, I love you guys!
Looks absolutely amazing! I appreciate that you guys share things even when they go wrong. Hope it's up and running soon!
Guys this is amazing. Imagine as a kid you knew you were going to do this. Childhood dreams come true!
Both you and your brother have some awesome content. I am a programmer, geek, and a woodworker. This is quality stuff :)
Damn, that cabinet looks fantastic! The cleanness of the build really takes it to the top level, and the overall look of it would more than fit in with cabinets back in the day! Well, put them to shame but it wouldn't look like it was from the future at least, hahah.
Maybe put a QR code somewhere on the cabinet or on a splash screen so people can pull up the menu on their phones :)
Super cool idea!
It is refreshing to see a video of woodworking nowadays that isn't just a cnc router doing most of the work.
Here's a game idea,
Make a side scrolling mario bros homage called "Murray Bros"
You have to collect vintage computer stuff, while the enemies are threats to that, like modern computer items.
Would be awesome!
This is really great craftmanship. Well done
I've been doing carpentry of one form or another since 1987. You make it look very easy, I love how you hit the highpoints, there is a lot of good info compressed in this.
This is super detailed and tons of work. I'm glad you made this video to give me a solid snapshot of what entails making a custom cabinet vs buying one.
What a beautiful cabinet. You and your brother are so talented, it's really nice to see you work together on something with him making the game and you making the cabinet. I look forward to more such collaborations :)
Genius duplication of the 2nd side of the cabinet. Bummer on the CRT frying after installation. Great video. Beautiful work on it all.
I love that I can hear that you're brothers just on your voice :)
I tapped on this link that came up, I follow David's channel but forgot he has a brother with a channel too 🤦
I kept looking and saying to myself "woah! David has changed" 😮 have I missed a few updates? You both look and sound so much alike but with a few differences, and I was so confused as to who I was watching... I need to lay off of the vodka in the evening 😂 anyway I want to say after all that rambling... fantastic project, that arcade looks to epic! Well done 👏🏼
And also I'm now following your channel too, so I will be nerding out alot now 😅
Thanks 😊
I'm not into vintage gaming or arcade machines, but I can't avoid getting excited at stuff like this. The craftsmanship and all the knowledge behind it is very satisfying to me. Makes me feel warm inside. 😌
I love that you used an Amiga 500! Very cool!
By far, one of, if not thé neatest, of these Arcade Game builds, I have seen, on CZcams.
My dad was a carpenter and i think he would have approved the wuality in this. Yes he was more the roof or winter garden builder and less the furniture man but he always said, go slow and do it once, rushing the job will only have you come back fixing it up later.
I wish he was still around, so many cool things could have been built. Anyway , really like the craftsmanship eventhough im less of an arcade player and more just a pc gamer 🥰
This is just disgustingly clean.
This arcade machine is really something!
Congratulations to you both.
The stuff you two are coming out with - this content is superb I really enjoy watching :)
When you added the CRT bezel, it immediately reminded me of the movie Explorers and their homemade spaceship with it's CRT bezel as a window.
I totally forgot about that. I guess I need to rewatch that movie.
I've never been to America, but I'd come to play PETSCII Robots in an arcade. Awesome work, Murrays! Can't wait to see the next one. Best regards from the UK.
Not since I stood in line to play Dragons Lair have I seen a cooler machine! Great work!
Immaculate design and construction. The end product is top shelf. Well done everybody.
Beautiful cabinet, and a wonderful video. Watched it 3 times now 😂
I will never not be completely awestruck by your ingenuity, skills, attention to detail and patience. What an absolute stellar job, Mike!
Mike... you do such amazing work. So glad you are doing this! And David's work is amazing as well. You guys are the Retro Dynamic Duo! LOL
Excellent craftsmanship. It's unfortunate what happened to the CRT, but hopefully that'll only be a minor bump in the road towards this cabinet being operational again. The actual price you pay for new old-stock, right?
Brings back memories seeing that cabinet build... Worked on arcade machines in the late 80s and early 90s when in highschool (my dad had a business). Only change I would make is I would have mounted the computer hardware under that board or on the side to protect it from being "coke-ed" (when someone sets a coke on the control panel and then spills it.). Always made a real mess in the coin box 😀.
My best friend and I just built our first Video Arcade machines (MAME) together. It was a great experience and we have learned a lot. I really like your cabinet, too. Well done! I am really tempted to steal one or two ideas for my next Video Arcade Machine cabinet, if I may. Thank you so much for sharing. You also have a new subscriber.

Amazing job! You guys are brilliant. Greetings from Brazil.
Thank you very much!
Stellar work boys...
An amazing epic project; from programming the game to construction of the cabinet. From scratch. 👏 Bravo
You are a complete and utter perfectionist. Incredible result.
Wow! Congratulations! It’s amazing! I’m so happy for David to see his game in an arcade cabinet. 👍 👍 👍
I think the wax statue of the 8-bit guy you put next to the arcade cabinet at 22:18 was pretty funny
that is a serious woodworking shop you have there.
Wow, so much respect for your skills and attention to detail.
It turned out GREAT! So clean and professional, very well done! Congrats.
Absolutely beautiful work!
Absolutely incredible. This cabinet is a work of art.
PCBway is the way!
You do amazing builds. I love to watch them. You build things the right way, and it shows in the finished product. Great video!
This is absolutely superb, great job!👍👍
Amazing work, I´m impressed by the attention to detail that you and your brother display on every single project, keep it up!
Amazing!!! You both guys sound very similar! 😱
You guys did an excellent job with the arcade. Well done!
This was a great video, love watching these kinds of builds. Exceptionally well done
Thank you for showing us how to recreate an old arcade cabinet. Your skills are amazing!
Wow.. Damn you're good! It looks amazing
Amazing craftsmanship. And equally amazing how you and your brother have the exact same vocal timbre and patterns.
Now that we got that out of our system, we can throw nostalgia out the window and go with two LED screens for the map and the gameplay.
Awesome video once again. I love your attention to detail and taking the time to do things right even it doesn't go 100% right the first try. Thanks for the video!
Amazing cabinet looks awesome!
Build is flippin' awesome! Great job dude!
Love that you have a new video up.... it's been 5 months since your last!
Great to see you back.
Great job on the cab.
Amazing. Congratulations
Wow that is incredible
Despite the hard work this actually looks like fun to me to actually make something, probably why I enjoyed legos. I didn't think people still made arcade cabinents, looks very professional.
Amazing work!
Looks great! You love this, you can tell!
A clever cabinet design, expertly assembled. Great video!
Amazing job. Loved it, and really enjoyed to have another video from you
Wow really well done!
Wow amazing work! I learned quite a bit from this video. I made a mame box a number of years ago and there’s a lot of techniques you used that would have saved me a great deal of time. Thanks for the video!
What a great job!,what a beautyfull Arcade machine!
Simply amazing!
That turned out great! Amazing work.
Stellar work on the cabinet!
This is so great! Well done guys!
That cabinet is absolutely beautiful. What an amazing build!
Great Job on the cabinet. Dave looked so happy to see his game in a classic coin op style machine. Even his didn't need quarters.
Holy crap this was an AWESOME build video! Loved every minute of it!
I'd love a video of the 2 Murray bros just sitting together having a pint and telling the story about how they grew up and both became so crafty in their own unique ways
Then you should watch our Podcast.
Fantastic job!
