I/O shield could be copied inti a proper one by copy it to a strap of Aluminum 0.8-1.0mm using a permanent fine liner for holes and border alignment and a Dremel tool or similar to provide also shielding ( aluminum is soft to work ) also the path of 3D printing if teplate are available for your MB for shielding you could use aluminum adhesive tale 5cm wide on the 3D print and cut it for holess with a surgical knife... On Amazon / AliExpress are a tom of MB for your purpose proven OK by LinusTech, ServeTheHome, etc usually with more sata 6-10, M.2, 4*2.5Gb network, etc. With CPU soldered (laptop cpu) or unsoldered ( socket)

This is great! It gives me the desire to take my old Atari video game system and make it into a video game console system somehow. I do have the aftermarket joysticks that are pretty big which would look nice in such a cabinet. Have to somehow create an access slot for game cartridge insertion, and a generic Atari cabinet artwork.

THE first computer I saw was in 1978 (during my elementary school years), and it was a PET 2001 with the chiclet keyboard and built-in Datasette. The next PETs I saw were in junior and high school, as my school district's computer labs were outfitted with PET 4016s and 4032s. That did not last, however, as the district began replacing them with Apple IIc computers during my senior year.

2 questions. Out of curiosity, could I use 1/2 MDF? Only because the Home Depot by Me carries them in 2‘ x 4‘ boards which would fit in my mustang. My only concern is I know half inch MDF I would imagine would be sufficient enough for the cabinet itself, my issue is the French cleat. I was thinking about getting a thicker piece of wood specifically just for the French cleat. And my second question is, I noticed that when you put up the monitor, you have the back support so it doesn’t fall through the back. But I didn’t notice. How is the TV supported so it doesn’t fall forward.

10:06 i always kinda view a repair job as a display of your skill in a sort of artform its like, the organization of wires, how clean your fixes are, how smooth things run mechanically (when doing mechanical work like tape decks), how the thing overall runs, like new or kinda wonky etc being able to just fix something so it works and being able to fix something so it runs like new, or better than new, just really speaks volumes imo. really is a bit of an artform in its own way

I've been (over)thinking a build for my basement area - part ham shack, part electronics hobby work station, part work from home, part book shelf. Nice (although I don't understand the PETSCII reference). Wish I could afford to order a custom made cabinet (or even a few of those machines in the shop!) Seems a solid and meticulous build. I've grown to love panels tilted back to almost horizontal (so your hands can rest on them) and if the monitor is also tilted back a bit more, creates a natural angle at which to stand up and play (for a teenager or adult). The angles here puts it somewhere in between sitting on a chair and standing up - many cabinets were made this way for bar stools and arched backs, ouch!
