    The datamosh results can be nice, but they're unpredictable. Waiting for the renders can often turn out to be a waste of time, so it's an effect I'll likely use sparingly (only when I really want it on something). But definitely cool looking.

      @iamstickfigure Před 11 měsíci +4

      Yeah, I'm honestly not sure what the point is. It's not real datamoshing, which honestly doesn't matter that much as long as the result looks cool. But the problem is that real datamoshing is theoretically not that hard to do. It's just an exploit of the H264 video compression algorithm, so you can get genuine datamoshing very quickly if you just do it the traditional way.

      @@rowentaylor9784 Avidemux is a good way to do it. That software lets you be reckless with frame deletion in h264 video. You just have to exploit that for the datamosh effect. Do a youtube search for "datamosh default cube". That is a decent video on how to do the effect.

    It's amasing, I never would have thought that possible without plug-in, thank you !
    I tried myself but I had an issue. I was wandering if you could bring an answer to this :
    All works perfectly but the transition "Gradient Wipe" is really not pretty when using video with great contrast. We can clearly see the dark going transparent before the light, and it have an odd look because we know that datamosh transition doesn't "vanish" this way.
    Do you have a solution with a first-party effect (or expression) to have a better transition ? Maybe something like an effect that erase moving pixels, or something closer to the original.
    Thank you so much again for your work.

      you can use a layer with Fractal Noise and use that as a map for revealing the footage

    This tutorial doesn't work for me. The mask I put on is automatically black, how do you get it how yours is. I don't even know if that matters, but your mask tool works different than mine, and mine ain't working, and this is the only visible difference.

    • @sjoerd.2004
      @sjoerd.2004 Před 6 měsíci

      Hi, maybe you've already solved it, but I just wanted to say that the fact that your mask tool is black is normal. His mask tool looks like that because it is an Alpha channel, so it's transparent. But the difference is only visual; a black mask still means that it is transparent.
