@@KidNamedKewlHam Graces combat has this feature where you get to "circle" around the characters, it's the first game that implemented this feature, and every game after Graces has it. But games before Graces doesn't have it, so Llyod from Symphonia was before quickstep was invented and therefore wasn't as "cool" or "innovative", Asbel just roasted him so hard

Using a Pager (very useful for Medics in emergency states & Rescue Squads. Sadly, Pager's service terminated in 2019) my family never use Pager not only difficult for operating, but also for sent a message via telephone (except my dad use Beeper/Pager in trial just at least 1 month. After that, he's never use Beeper/Pager again till using cellphone > smartphone like current time. In 2010-2012, I'm use Blackberry till stopped due not too durable. I prefer use for WhatsApp in Smartphone... *sigh*)

This whole thing is so good and the jokes are genuinely really clever. I looove the year-appropriate phones and the way everyone is just totally fine with Cress and his pager. The jokes about anime production were all really good, too, hahaha. Also, there were such good little details like Velvet's Laphicet wallpaper on her phone and Yuri's wall full of cool posters of himself. This whole thing is delightful. Really stellar translation work! It all read super well and the dialogue was fun and natural. Thank you for this!

Just want to point out paintballing in a non-recreational environment over inconsequential prizes is one of the trademark tropes of the show Community.
For anybody reading who maybe hasn't seen it, it's a satirical sitcom about a community college, and it goes super meta while exploring different genres in their parodies.
I know it's unlikely since this is about video games and paintball shooters are getting popular, but I'd love to think the Rays Theater writers drew inspiration from a great American-made piece of satire!
Can be anything if a paintball or an FPS Tales of game ever happened.

@@hbk2221 Phantasia had an anime adaptation, but it was so abridged that I think Phantasie deserves more than 4 episodes 30 minutes each to retell 50+ hours of centent.
Also Eternia has anime adaptation, but it's old and it's lenght is like Symphonia's OVA, but I might be wrong, because I didn't watch Eternia.
You know that they will need to do something with Tales of the Tempest, right? It was Mothership title, but even if it is Escort title now, it still has a lot of apperances in spin-offs, like ToS:Dawn of the New World.

The fact that Yuri is portrayed here as some guy with NPD (narcissistic personality disorder) makes me grin. I wonder if namco is making a jab at the fandom... esp. when Yuri walks in and shoots every other Tales character down. His fans are notorious for doing the same... so the joke is on the Vespy fans (and I think they deserve it, tbh.) ^_^
Well, Tales of Vesperia is actually good. Not perfect, but really good.
Pretty much like Berseria, only if I was male I would actually fall in love with Velvet.
Yuri is the best character of entire franchise so it makes sense that he's so narcissistic in this anime, even if it wasn't fully true in the game (he's more sarcastic here than anything), but hey. Namco forgot to do a voting stuff with Xillia, Zestiria and Berseria characters. Then the half of the best characters will be girls, because I don't know what happened, but I like female cast of those games. Really XD

Don't get ahead of yourself, Velvet. As much as I like your game, you are the first female protagonist...of a prequel, not a stand alone Tales of game. You still have to follow cues from Zestria
She pre-dates Zesty, her game's a prequel! They retroactively follow cues from her! :^)
I love the way you think. Even though Berseria is a prequel, the cues come from Zestiria since Zesty came out first. And basically, Berseria just explains the background of Zesty... things gone wrong that Sorey was supposed to "fix."
@@turquoisemoon3654 Everything went wrong because Velvet stopped Innominant at the cost of her life, making seraphim unvisible to people with low resonance again and that Laphicet have taken Innominant's place? Well, I don't see what have went wrong. If Velvet didn't went to save her brother for being sacrificed to make seraphim be seen by normal people, Zestiria would not even happen, really.
I'm not bashing Zestiria. I've actually enjoyed it. Berseria just gave me a lot of the feelings which actually made me worried about the main crew of the videogame for the first time in years. I actually can say that I've cried at Berseria's story more than at Zestiria's, but i don't think I should compare them. They feel really different because of their themes beight different.

Berserians are normally very critical of Zestiria, and some reviewers who didn't know any better even say that Zestiria dragged Berseria down as it could have earned higher if it was not associated with Zestiria. Facts however suggest that Zestiria did earn more than Berseria... and it was not the case of Zestiria "being better" or "worse" but rather of Tales being introduced to fans for the first time thru Zesty (I'm one of them). The Tales "community" also arrogantly declare Berseria to be the "next best thing" to Vesperia while downgrading Zestiria as a an inferior game.
I played Berseria because I liked Zesty... but I couldn't really get attached to "dark" characters and "revenge" themes that get recycled every time writers run out of ideas. I'm starting to read Western comic books and the revenge plot is everywhere. However, Berseria is still special because the way characters blend and relate with each other is always interesting. And yeah, Tales games are never as petty as other games out there.
