I do have Fabia from some time now, but there is this steering warning sign which keeps on coming and I had to restart it every time and it's work fine after that. Sometime the Steering becomes hard i.e looses power steering, Ihave shown this to various service center and everytime they scan and will respond like there is no iasue.. Have you ever came across this issue on your Skoda Fabia.

Even I have got the same error but, it went away when I switched off the car and turned it back on. Since it is not showing in scanner it can be a loose wire. @@rajeshm8493 2008 will b 12 yrs old, if u cnt renew afte 15 yrs it will b a challenge! Suggest 2011/2012 model. If u had used a maruti like me, u will get a mileage shock, but this vehicle is much safer & heavier. Overall I focused on safety & happy with the experience! Given another option, would go for used Honda jazz!

@@vivekghawari8936 I won't suggest you to go with 10 years old Fabia . Because no doubts the maintenance cost is on higher side . Though we didn't face any breakdowns . But the normal Clutch pads , Break pads replacements were costly . Yearly service costed around 10-12K . And also Fabia is discontinued since a long time so spart parts can be a issue .
But we sold the car in 2016 . So , Maybe the services have improved now . Can't say .
I'd recommend to go with i20 if you are buying second hand car of this category.

I have done stage 1, and I think it's producing about 85-87ish hp I don't know how many horses got lost in 13 years. Stage 2, you might look at 95ish hp. Ps This is just my guess.

Petrol engines are fairly having less issues. Please do check all the power windows and scan the car and check for actual km driven by the car using vcds or any other obd scan tool

I do manage to get parts for my car which is 1.4 tdi. Since you have a 1.2 petrol parts availablity shouldn't be a problem because the same engine was shared in polo and ameo petrol. It even depends on the region where you are staying.

The general service for the car is similar to other cars like filters etc. Only certain other services like timing and or some spares can be about 15 to 20 percent costlier.

I do my car service by my own so it costs me close to 7 thousands for all parts including oil.
In Mumbai normal yearly service charge is Rs. 16500/- this includes some 35 checks oil change, coolant top up, filters change etc. Parts are extra, and they are costlier but the quality of parts is way better. I had suspension problem and they asked me 70000 for all. So i went to local and changed them at 25k. But they failed after 6 months. I have again changed them from authorized service center and the difference in quality is earth and sky. Before buying please check the service record first. Car is very good and spacious. Also recently i had an AC problem and they asked me 35k to change the AC system but i went to local amd he did solve the problem but did not properly assemble the car causing my airbag explode. So please when you take your car to local mechanic please ask him whether he ever in his life repaired a Skoda.

If the scratches disappear when water is applied on it then u can polish it. If not it is a deep scratch you would have to paint the panel.

The polishing can be done by you itself if you have the product. If you require professional results then you would have to take it to some professional place. The price for polishing can differ from place to place, but try giving it to the best and well reputed place. since ones something goes wrong there is no comeback 🙂
A general polishing of car can be around 6 thousand rupees and with higher quality the price will also increase

What would be the maintenance cost Bro... Cost per service..?
The maintenance cost varies from one service centre to another one. When I used to get my car serviced at skoda the bill would come upto 10 thousand for a regular oil change and check-up. And if there is brake pads replacement it would cost 5 thousand more. Now that I service the car by myself the cost is very minimal (5-7 thousand) which includes all parts and oil too. The service cost will increase if any parts fail, the cost is about 15-20% higher than other brands.

Yes when we compare the pre facelift Fabia the ground clearance is low for our roads. I end up scraping the under side of the car if I won't go cross on a high speed breaker.
But the newer facelift fabias are bit higher so that is not a serious issue in that car.

What are the changes made for 20k ?
It was just a engine remap from Pete's. It basically improved the drivability in city conditions. Before remap I had to do constant gear shift from 2nd to 1st gear in slow motion so that I don't end up burning my clutch. But after the remap this issue was solved and there was a marginal power gain too.

Timing belt on diesel cars and the 1.4tdi the ac compressor is a issue. In petrol there isn't much maintenance

The timing might be close to 25k with water pump it's a rough estimate. And the compressor new from the company is 27k for the 1.4tdi, but you can retro fit a sanden unit. There are people in Kerala and other parts of India who does this.

I 100% agree with you about those rims. That alone might be the reason for me not to het this car. These rims look tiny and old-fashioned.

Actually the ride is much better now compared to 14s but it did influence the handling while going through a curve since the ride height increased by 4cm.

What abt the mileage bro
My car is 1.4pd tdi and I get a mileage of 14 to 16 km in city driving and in highway I get about 18 to 20 km with a steady pedal on the accelerator. My friend has a 1.2 tdi and it is giving him almost the same mileage. And whereas for 1.2 mpi petrol you can expect 12 to13 km in city and 15 to 16 km in highway. Mileage of a car depends on driving style of the individual too.
