    We have 24/7Australia Roadside Assistance. Found them to be excellent both times we needed a tilt tray .

      Thats excellent, we used to have them a few years ago for one of our cars, never needed to use them though. Good to hear they are an option.

    Thanks for the videos. When we called roadside assist they would only tilt tray to nearest dealers. These dealers did not have trained mechanics for our vehicle. We found this by ringing dealers first. We did get sorted and on the road again quickly thanks to a very professional dealer.

      Thanks for sharing, we had a tow to the Renault dealer in Hobart who was set up for repairs. They also covered a couple of nights' accommodation while we waited. Fingers crossed we never have to use the roadside assist again.

    Yes most manufacturers do include some sort of roadside assistance package. But Renault only offers 12 months roadside assistance as they classify the motorhome new chassis as a commercial vehicle. It’s worth checking but yes we’d used Renault assist a few times & it was effortless & awesome!
    There are roadside assist from RACV, racq, NRMA, CMCA - but check the fine print as there are restrictions on length/weight/height & coverage on like carrying pets…

      @headsortailsmotorhometravels77  Před 5 měsíci

      Thanks for the information. Definitely recommend looking at the fine print for whatever road side assist that people choose to go with. How are you going with the wait on your new motorhome.

    We are in NZ and we purchased a Benimar Tessoro through Traillite NZ. We had a couple of small issues that were rectified straight away. Their after sales service is top rate. We are due for a habitation service soon and there wait time is a couple of weeks. I am surprised that did not look at other MH before you decided to buy a Junkco. Enjoying your videos, keep up the good work. Happy travels.

      Junko - lol. We dont think we would ever buy another Jayco. We do hope to have this one for many years to come. Your brand - Benimar sounds like they offer the service that you would expect. Glad to hear there are some really good ones out there. Keep on enjoying your travels.

    Thanks for the info. Reminded us that we haven’t contacted NRMA to add our second hand motorhome to the membership.

    The ACCC ripped into caravan and rv manufacturers for misleading claims and defect warranties. They accused tgem of telling people with defective on arrival vans of refusing tge refund they are allowed. Never fixing know defects they made. Some had appalling defect avoidance where they didnt fix leaks etc despite common issues for all builds. Jayco was heavily criticised. Buyers should consider this. Also some chassis have poor quality eg fiat which could see major costs to fix failures and defect even after a very short time. Not like a car with 5 or 7 year warranty.

      Thanks for the information. A lot of dealers do need to pick up their game. We are starting to see some improvement with the Jayco Service side of things, but still a long way to go.

    Thanks so much. It does help a lot. Where do you get the starlink modem from?😊

    • @headsortailsmotorhometravels77
      @headsortailsmotorhometravels77  Před 5 měsíci +2

      Hi, pretty sure you order it all online, Starlink website. You purchase the hardware, they send it to you. There is an app that you can start and stop the service and payments with.

    You’ve had your fair share of issues. We did with our caravan in another brand. I guess you could ask the questions but I think there might be an issue in getting an honest reply🤔
    I would like to change my van but it’s taken us 3 yrs to get it right and I’m fearful of having to start the process all over again🤦🏼‍♀️
    It’s murky waters isn’t it?😝

    • @headsortailsmotorhometravels77
      @headsortailsmotorhometravels77  Před 5 měsíci

      Hi, yes totally agree with you - after finally getting everything fixed on your caravan i would not want to part with it either. The problem is getting them booked in for the repairs and this clashes with travel plans, let alone if you are living in it. Its a process and we just have to work through it, like everyone else. Hope you have problem free travels now.

      @@headsortailsmotorhometravels77 we were heading over . Kind of retracing you guys route on Bruny Island now stopped at the honey place you guys stopped at. Haven’t found the bread fridge yet. The noise they fixed in your van was probably the one I fixed in our Conquest rental! It won’t be making a noise ever again!

    Hi Guys! Just to clarify, you are saying Renault offer roadside service under warranty only? Once warranty has run out you're on your own?

    • @headsortailsmotorhometravels77
      @headsortailsmotorhometravels77  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Hi, sorry we should have clarified, the roadside assist is as long as the warranty period on the chassis. So if its a three-year warranty you will get the roadside assist for three years.

    All brands are the same in the way of wait times etc. dealers can only do what they can do, no manpower etc

    First are you QLDers if so RACQ was about the best for traveling, good road side assist for big unites. As for services most van mobs they have agents and if insured the company will pay accommodation they will some times. The best phone we found Telstra was the best for reception and your modem the best we have been told is a fire stick and run it through your phone, the biggest tip i can give travelers it through away the watch and don't be in a hurry.

    • @headsortailsmotorhometravels77
      @headsortailsmotorhometravels77  Před 5 měsíci

      Hi we are in NSW so RACQ not available for us. We have not heard of a fire stick but will definitely look that up. Thanks for the comment and suggestions.
