I hunt with my sons youth bow from wal mart it's a 129$ barnett vortex 27 inch draw length 45lb pull back and it does the job. One day I hope to have my own bow. The kids come first though

@@genoadennis9612 the pound doesn't go any higher. No reason to be that way. I'd rather my kid have then me. I've had multiple compound bows 70 pound pull in the past and never used them just got into bow hunting the past 2 years. I'll go without so my son can have and just use his bow.

Also... if it means anything... you got at least one person out in the woods. I fish and hike regularly but got my hunting license for the first time to start on on small game like squirrels and rabbits today because of this, and I'm 36... thanks!!
Brother it's never too late to pick something up. Happy hunting, good luck out there brother. Small game is a challenge sometimes, but that rabbit or squirrel stew makes it worth it. I will say, if you're gonna eat it, I'd use a 22lr lmao, birdshot fuckin huuuuuurts to chomp down on

I don't understand why you would think that just because it's not a thousand dollar bow that it won't kill a deer. It's all about practice and shot placement. Hunt with what you can afford and take the time to get familiar with your equipment and practice until you get it right. Nice video for showing folks that it can be done.

I actually have the same bow myself and had the weird shots coming off of it at first. I upgraded it a little with a better stabilizer a wrist sling and peep sight and also a whisker biscuit. At 30 yards it will stack them up. Not a bad bow for the money

My youngest son who's 14 uses this bow. We've upgraded the peep sight and main sight to a truglo with octane whisker biscuit. Also new arrow quiver but it shoots actually pretty good. Started my 16 year old with that and now hes on a hoyt ignite. Good bow to pass down. And make memories in the woods!

The prices on the top name bows is very disrespectful to the consumer who got these companies to where they are now. I get that quality is not cheap but paying upwards of 2 grand for a naked bow is insane.

Idea for the next challenge: cheapest bow (non-broken) you can find period, even used. I saw a used one sell for $50 at an auction the other day and thought of your challenges.

I shot a deer with that bow at 45 pounds and 26 inches in draw length when I was 11 at 32 yards
I also put a different sight on it

Awesome video, new subscriber just got into hunting last year with a rifle didn’t kill anything but I let some doe’s walk but ima get my first next week I’m looking at the Bear adapt since bow season is so long where I live and rifle season is only like 2 weeks at most

I bought a bear panther 2 from K-mart for $55 it's 55 lbs draw weight with 80 '/. Let off it's a great bow it shoots great I was hitting a target at over 70 yards and hitting bottle caps... .. if people are on a very tight budget they may find a great bow through 2nd hand or even on a big discount... There's always a way to get good hunting gear to enjoy the outdoors
Man.... Reminds me of the amazon bow I bought in 17. $141 bucks for a 70 lb bow, needed a d-loop but other than that it was a complete package.

New challenge idea. Go to a pro shop and buy the oldest flagship bow they have off the used rack
Next challenge is pawn shop bow or rifle for under $300. Or go all out with all the gear. Blind, camos, bow, etc. Ebay gear would be another fun one.
I would love to get back in the woods, but it's hard to find a place where I can hunt that I don't have to walk a lot. I'm disabled and can't walk long distances anymore. So now I just watch videos like this and cry myself to sleep.

Man I don't have anyone to hunt with. I do have a large State Forest with public hunting access near me though. I just need someone to run me through a bow hunting crash course lol. I snagged a Barnett Hunter Extreme compound bow for like $80 bucks a few years ago. Adjustable up to 60Lbs for that price is a steal. Planning on taking it to get set up at an archery shop here soon

A wise man told me years ago, the equipment is going to do it's job, it's the operator! To be honest, 2 of my biggest bucks were killed with Walmart broadheads

@noahbassett9923 I have been using mine for about 2 years and just now switched to QAD Exodus to try them out, but I'm keeping two shwacker fixed blades incase.
Any bow will do just remember some guys hunt with recurved in wich the only upside to it is follow up shot
I got that exact same bow I hunt with. I'm not able to afford a 1,000 dollar bow but I've harvested a doe so far with it. One day I'll save up enough to get a better one but for now it works. I took mine to a bow shop tho an the guy hooked me up with everything new sights d loop an set my poundage at 56. I got lucky on price tho they hadn't put it out yet so I got mine for the price of the smaller bow which was 59 bucks
