    I don’t get the whole North South thing. Where does Maharashtra, Goa or Gujarat come in that equation? Goa is extremely rich state per capita and Gujarat and Maharashtra contribute more to the Indian GDP than the so called “South”. The whole North vs South is a manufactured divide.

    Sky News needs to learn the geography properly. There's not only north and south, but also east, west, northeast and central India. Madhya Pradesh falls in central India while Bihar falls in eastern Hindi. Stop this nonsensical binary narrative.

    Sky News needs intelligent reporters.
    BJP does well in South too, infact it will be largest party in South also.
    Seats are determined by population, not revenue generation.
    The real reason South has progressed is because North bore the brunt of invasion, destruction and South had relative peace with good rulers.
    India is one diverse state, but it is one big family.

    • @b4bthick
      @b4bthick Před měsícem

      The problem is states with more population contribute less gdp to nation. India needs to rethink its seats in parliament. Non performing states has to be encouraged to perform better. South is still a bastion of regional parties excluding Karnataka.
      South did make great trade links when ocean trade was difficult. South was the one which was colonized by brutal European forces. South Indians were sold as slaves to other geographies and was sent as labourers to near by and far distant colonies too, while north did not face this problem for 300+ years of European aggression on south. Cholas of south had great army and navy to safe guard TN. Chatrapathi Shivaji did similar at later point in time. Two dynasty which had regionalism and power protect were of Marathas and Tamils.

      What Rishi has said has some truth in considering the world is in a fragile situation with wars n conflicts. As elections are very close, he is framing it as if conservatives are the ones best to lead UK through this. Image is playing election politics as well. May be he should give the leadership to some other Tory leader who is more popular.
