Depends on the actual lieter of the drum. Machines these days like to scam you be selling you supposedly high kilogram machines when really they are not. you’ll find some 8 kg machines some 10 kg machines from 12 kg machines and in fact any kilogram in between from different brands really vary in the actual capacity

@@ashfordtownappliances dont do it. He wines on every washing machine videp asking everyone to do reviews and demonstrations. I am apart of the “washing machine community” which has washer enthusiasts in like me and on almost every channel he always goes on about you wanting to do reviews and demonstrations on every machine. If you want to do it, sure! But it would really be a waste of time as he never watches them just wants to waste peoples time

The laws of physics also dictate that a 10-12kg load machine might wear down sooner if the drum/tub isn’t engineered to be durable. I had a Haier 12kg direct drive machine which the official figures promised to outperform most large capacity models on the global market in terms of capacity, water/energy usage and even quietness. I only ever filled the drum 75% max and whilst it started off quieter for the 1st 2 months, after that it got really loud on spin. It always used sooooo much water and energy, even though it promised to sense the loads, it actually didn’t. When it finally got too noisy for me to bare I took them up on their 5 year warranty and got an engineer only to be told the bearings were already defective and the whole drum unit and tin would have to be replaced. Getting Haier and domestic and general to honour the repair and even source the part proved impossible and after waiting for 2 months I got the retailer to replace under consumer rights. I’m far happier now with my 8kg Bosch mid-high range which was a similar price and I should’ve bought 1st

This is what I hated about the weight based capacity ratings in Europe. As if the washers weren’t tiny (compared to US machines) to begin with, the manufacturers would ALWAYS lie and overinflate the amount of clothes able to be fit inside the machine. My 10kg zanussi would only fit about 7kgs. I much prefer the volume based measurements system in the US. You can make up lies about how much kg a machine can fit, but you can’t make up lies about how large the actual tub of the machine is in proper metrics.
