I'd like to add one point regarding direct drive technology used in LG washing machines. Since the motor is directly mounted to the drum, the weight of the motor is borne by the bearings that hold the motor to the drum and can reduce the lifespan of the bearings from what I've heard.
If possible, I'd like to see a long term review of the washing machine, maybe a few years down the line as to how well the bearings in the drive technology in LG washing machine holds up compared to belt drive of other brands because practically speaking, it's easier to replace the belt than to replace those bearings because you'll have to remove the whole drum and motor assembly.

Well we cannot adjust the timing at all because machine automatically senses load and calculates total time based on mode and features selected for a wash cycle. Baby care mode takes longer because it is meant to clean soiled clothes and it works really well because of steam cycle but as a result it will consume considerable electricity and there is little we can do to reduce its power consumption or duration.

Bilkul, aap modes beech mein bhi change kar sakte ho, but dhyaan rakhna agar machine ne paani le liya hai to detergent dispenser mein thoda sa detergent aur dapna padega kyonki mode change karne pe ho sakta hai ki machine water drain karke for refill kare, depending on ki kitna mode chalaya tha aur kab aa mode change karre ho.
Very well explained. Though, from the looks of it, there are too many suds in your clothes which is neither good for the clothes nor the machine. Probably detergent used was not for front load washers.

I'll suggest LG and Bosch, because these brands are pretty good at building front load machines. I stay away from Samsung due to my last bad experience with their top load machine.
In 40k, I'll suggest you the same model I bought which retails for 35k at present. I didn't require fancy WiFi features so chose this model, and I'll leave that totally upto you to decide. WiFi functionality is more helpful in air conditioners, but in case of washing machines when you have to manually put the clothes, WiFi functionality is just an extra add-on and not necessary at all in my opinion.

There is no requirement for any extended warranty in my opinion. Regarding installation, LG provides excellent service, no matter where you purchase the product from. Presently, Amazon is the best portal to purchase this product because of my positive experience with them for not one but countless purchases.

LG has the best spare part availability that's comparable to Samsung, though Bosch spares can take a while, IFB is mediocre.
I looked at the manual for this machine and it states it has 6 motion if you look on the second page. I don't know why you concluded it did not have this feature?

LG has not specified any TDS rating for their washers so we can assume that this model is not meant to be used in areas with high TDS without using water softener. However a dedicated compartment has been provided for adding water softener so it should not be much of an issue since all internal components in washing machines are of steel or aluminum which do not rust but can corrode in longer duration if hard water is used without softener.
IFB machines also have aluminum spider and stainless steel drum just like LG, Samsung and Bosch so I doubt if they have specially coated their internal components with a protective layer to prevent corrosion, but since I haven't not personally checked their latest washers I cannot comment on this.
I have not seen any water inlet pump in any of the washer till date, so yes you do need adequate tap water pressure to actuate water inlet solenoid valves properly. Even if you are living on the top floor with tank located on the rooftop, most washer should work fine, but yes they will take a bit more time to get filled with water. Front loaders consume minimal water so this does not effect washing duration at all.
Bosch has got good built quality, but their service is still not as good as LG as per my research though I have not bought it myself. I prefer reliable service and affordable spare part rates that's why I prefer better selling brands though I do accept that Bosch and many less selling brands may offer a lot more features, just like cars.

I used to believe that water with a high TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) content might not clean clothes effectively. In the past, it was often said that hard water, with its high mineral content, was less effective for washing, whereas soft water led to quicker and more efficient washing with less detergent.but as you said hard water is not good for internal components in the long run and it does not affect wash quality in any way or detergent consumption.
I also tend to focus on essential features when making appliance purchases, such as washing machine wash quality low noise & vibration built quality and durability. These aspects are important and once you make a purchase, they can't be changed. I learned about Bosch appliances from a CZcams channel named best appliances information and the host highly praised Bosch for its washing quality, minimal vibrations, built quality and the quality of its internal components, including the i-DOS system.
I got the exact same model but I am facing one problem....when washing large clothes like bedsheet, the machine seems unstable and moved from its place....Do you have any idea, why is this happening.....its happening during the last 15 min during the spin cycle.

Good video. First I've seen from India that advocates using a spirit level and a two foot one at that. The smaller torpedo isn't good enough. I bought a spirit level back in the day just for this. I went to the shop and asked for 6. Three of them weren't true and deserved to be binned so went with the best of the remaining three. Never buy a spirit level online. You have no idea what you will get.

@@M-DIY back in 2016 they didn't have an digital ones. So I opted for a Stanley. Went to the designated shop only to discover they no longer sold them because they were too expensive. Instead he had chosen a slightly cheaper Chinese brand which I could tell was slightly less accurate going by the specs. When I told him I wanted to test them he said no need. I insisted and was glad I did. Accuracy is a function of how well it's built. You place it one way. Reverse and check if the bubble is at the same point. If not its no good even if slightly off. That is the simplest test and will eliminate ones with build defects. There are more tests you can do based on the same principle but this was good enough to junk three models he gave me.

Now that I recall he was trying to sell me a digital one for 5k which I felt was too much for a one off job.
I paid around 1k for my bubble model. It was good enough once you do your own quality control.

Is it safe to keep washing maching in bathroom? Installation guy was saying not to keep it there due to moisture which can cause issues in future. Let me know if this is correct or not in case of front load machine. I too have same lg white color model 7kg capacity.
He is correct because bathroom is too humid and not ideal for placing a washing machine, though many people keep washers in bathroom because of limited flat space. Keeping washing machine in balcony is also not ideal because of sunlight. If you really do not have any place, you can keep machine in the bathroom given that it does not get wet, otherwise body will start rusting sooner or later.
@@M-DIY what if I put plastic cover to washing machine from all the sides from Amazon. Will it not help? and keeping washing machine maching in bathroom, due to humidity will there be any effect on pcb or any part, anyhow we will be keeping it covered.
@@abhishekkumarsingh5841A cover is not practical as you need to leave the door open for at least 10 hours after each wash for the machine to dry out internally. This step is very important to avoid mould from growing which will shorten the machine life.

You don't need to add any detergent to clean the tub, just select tub clean mode and machine will clean the tub just using water. However when machine has scale deposit then use descalant. Descalant should be used only when machine has a lot of scale deposit, don't over use it or it will corrode the machine.

7 kg should be sufficient for a family of three but in case you need to wash large curtains or double bed sheets a lot or need 1400 RPM then you can choose 8 kg version.
Always go with the 8kg as its got a bigger drum. Even if it's just for one person. 7kg with direct drive is much smaller. Confirm in the shops so you know what you're getting.
Are LG washing machine drums replaceable and how much will they generally cost? I was using Bosch but drums of that machine are damaged and they don’t have replacement part. Pathetic experience with Bosch. And now they are offering me some random model which I don’t want at all.
LG doesn't have this issue as spares have better availablility than Bosch and yes drums in LG machines are replaceable.

Which way is better to buy a washing Machine in a rural area,online or offline?
I am asking this question keeping in mind that there are models which are available only in online mode.

Regarding availability of a few models, it is just the model number that is different for offline or online markets, otherwise rest of the features remain more or less the same so this doesn't affect purchase decision at all. In rural areas finding shops that have the particular model can be difficult so buying online is better. Just make sure you inspect the machine thoroughly for any damages before giving OTP to the delivery agents.

More than family members it depends on how often clothes, bedsheets and towels are changed. For most families under 4 members, 7 kg is enough unless you wash larger clothes more often, so choose accordingly.

@@shaikhsohel4548 I avoid any kind of extra AMC or insurances which aren't worth the amount you pay. Just make sure your home appliances are protected by suitable voltage protectors or stabilizers, I'll cover this topic in next videos soon.
Thanks for the video..had ordered this yesterday and will be delivered today. I stay in Bangalore. My existing machine is a 6.5KG bosch. it is heavily rusted and the front panel on the left side is very loose. Maybe this is the reason why the mechanism holding the drum is gotten loose and hence during spinning, the washing machine dances a lot and sometimes it turns 180 degrees apart from heavy sound.
The authorized bosch guy charges 800 and on the phone told me some part has to be replaced that costs 12000!! for a washing machine costing 22000, this makes no sense. Then I had ordered a visit by Urban company. Without even opening the machine he said that the front panel and side panel has to be changed and quoted 7000!!! Things that cost the company 1-2000 are being told that replacement will cost 6-10000!!! Seems like the motor and drum of my machine is in good condition and resale value is 2000!!
what should I do? where can I find the body of the washing machine for 1-2K? I dont feel like selling it for 2-3K nor does it make sense to spend 10-15K to repair a 8 year old machine where the current mrp is 21-22K.. Pls help
Bosch washing machine spare parts are too costly, that's what many owners have reported. Only Bosch can provide you the body of the washer but it won't be cheap. Still at least write a mail to Bosch regarding this matter, maybe they'll agree to just replace the body of the machine and provide you a quote for it.
Urban company is yet another service provider that offers to provide ultra low maintenance quotes initially, but technicians deliberately try to repair and replace unwanted components which aren't even faulty at times just to make profit, just like cashify me, an old smarrphone buying company that relies on same techniques.
In the present condition, you won't get much out of your old washer, because it is not in resellable condition on OLX nor can be it exchanged as per the exchange policy on Amazon so In your case, I'll suggest to not waste a single rupee on any repairs in case Bosch quotes an overly expensive estimate and use the machine as is for the time being and when you have the budget and discounted prices on sales are offered, buy a new washer. You'll have to scrap the machine with a scrap dealer who will separate different metals out of it and offer you like 2-3k at most.

Nahi, woolen aur delicates pe nahi on kar sakte intensive mode ko. Program select karke fir intensive select karna hota hai.

Hello sir, does LG front load wm makes damages to the clothes like small holes? Please answer sir as bosch doesn't make damages to the clothes... Also pls answer that how is your machine doing to the clothes like damages, cleaning after 50+ cycles, etc.
Front loading washing machines do not damage clothes in any manner and same is true for this LG washer as well, so be it Bosch or LG both work equally well. Machine is still performing well and life of clothes has increased if I compare with the older top loader I had.

I see the model as FHM1408BDM. AI DD stands for artificial Intelligence direct drive, Which is latest technology of LG which is being user in WM's for the last 3 years or so...Previously LG used Inverter direct drive technology in their WM's
