    This is great! I am really glad someone is out there doing great vids about Memphis. Looking to buy my first house next year. Hopefully, Midtown is still affordable lol.

      Midtown might be more affordable than you think! Reach out when the time is right, let’s make a plan and get on track for that purchase! Thanks for watching and leaving a comment.

    I moved here from DC after my military career and BOC has driven the housing market way too high. $350k won’t buy much.

    • @MovingToMemphis
      @MovingToMemphis  Před rokem

      Honestly that price increase has been everywhere. I don’t believe we have seen the true impacts of BOC on pricing yet. There are still quite a few areas around Memphis where $350k buys a nice home. I don’t know if that will be true in a few years though.

    Great video! Can you also include Jackson TN or is that too far?

    • @MovingToMemphis
      @MovingToMemphis  Před rokem

      You definitely could consider Jackson TN. It would be about 45 minutes in the other direction and it’s getting pretty far from
      Our base area so that’s why we didn’t include it in this one

    You're not kidding about Fayette County property taxes. I grew up in Memphis/Shelby County which has the HIGHEST property tax rate in the entire state of Tennessee. We moved across the Shelby/Fayette county line into northwest Fayette County and enjoyed the LOWEST property tax rate in the state. I figured up the difference. Our mortgage was $600 per MONTH cheaper in Fayette than a comparable priced home in Memphis/Shelby. This was in the 2010s and the home was appraised at ~$540,OOO.

      It is pretty wild how much money you can save just by hopping over that county line

    I will never understand for the life of me, why it needs to be so big? Is Ford guaranteed to sell a lot of trucks but even still at some point demand will taper off. Will the batteries they make be the size of houses?

      @MbisonBalrog interesting! Ford has stood the test of time. Do you think the demand for higher wages would be strong enough to really cause this to happen or would it not behoove them to adhere to the demand to keep production going?
