See when good are sent on consignment it is treated as expenditure and it is debited.
So when goods are returned by the consignee to consignor then you have to eliminate that expenditure created by doing opposite posting i.e. CREDIT.
So Goods returned by consignee will always come on the credit side as
By Goods Sent to Consignment.

Sir I have a doubt: while calculating the valuation of stock .....at the end.....shouldn't we take the proportionate of expenses incurred by both consignee and the consignor...🤔

You have to add proportionate expenses by consignor and
consignee while calculating value of unsold stock in invoice price but after that you have to substract only profit from invoice price of goods before addition of proportionate expenses and you will get stock reserve value
