The bill was duly met at maturity. On 31st Dec , Doran & co.received an account sales showing that the goods were sold for rs 60,000, and that landing and cartage expenses amounted to rs 200 and warehousing to rs 300. Commission at 5% on gross sale proceeds had been deducted and a bankers' draft for the blance was enclosed .. Show the necessary ledger a/c in the books of both consignor and consignee. .. Non Recurring Expenses are directly related with that Consignment which is brought in so it forms part of the cost of purchase that’s why we add NRE. Whereas Recurring expenses are incurred every time and don’t have direct relation with the goods.

Yes, abnormal loss occurred in transit so consignee received only 900 (1000-100). So while doing the valuation of Closing Stock we have to calculate Proportionate expenses of Consignor & Consignee separately. Because Consignor has incurred his non recurring expenses on 1000 qty where as consignee has incurred his non recurring expenses on 900 qty ( 100 lost in transit). So take 900 total qty in calculating the Proportionate NRE of Consignee.
