  • Located in the center of the town of Milton off Indiana Route 1. Most of Wayne County and the City of Richmond test their sirens on the 3rd Wednesday at noon, weather-pending.
    --------
Haven't heard an STH-10 in a couple years so I decided to head out to Wayne County, Indiana to hear this one yesterday. I was excited to get a successful Indiana test following a failure at the old Hidden Valley 612 last year. This one is a later model and date stamped March of 2003, so it was probably put up roughly around the same time Richmond got their 2001s. Other than that this is your typical STH-10 with the extra-long 15 minute chopper wind down due to the large 22" diameter rotor.
A bird's nest was also blown out of one of the horns during the test. It appeared that the birds weren't too happy to return to the shattered remains of their nest following the test. Lol.
Wayne County's siren system is very odd to say the least, with some sirens being manually activated by fire departments for calls only, some that are tested manually, and others being activated by the county. I believe that this siren and the Darley in Pershing are set off by the county, along with the 2001 in Cambridge City and all the sirens in the City of Richmond (excluding the T-128 at Earlham College which is tested separately). Other than that, I'm not really sure what works and what doesn't, aside from knowing the STH-10 in Dublin is used for fire calls only and activated via a push button.
    Anyways, enjoy!

Aw poor birds. That's why every siren that has a projector should always have a screen towards the end of the horn to keep em out of harms way.

RIP birds. Sounds nice and potent. Very new boi!
PS: this is also a VERY clean video and maybe even one of the best ive seen of a marathon STH in full alert. Keep it up!

Interesting, I didn't know Marathon made motors for these still at the time this one was made. This is a very late model from around 2003.

@@sirenfreak57 yea from what ive heard they were sold all the way up to 2005 before the eclipse took its place and still used marathon motors.
