I can't believe you guys didn't give this episode the serious respect it deserves.
Naruto's relationship with the armadillo is just another indication of the foreshadowing between him and Sakura, whereas the beauty and majesty that is the ninja ostrich was right in front of him the whole time like Hinata. Will Hinata run away in the end like Condor? Perhaps it's hinting that Naruto needs to grow up in order to become the person he needs to for ninja ostrich.
You can also tell that Boss Hippo and King are representing the past versions of Naruto and Sasuke. I had to hold back tears when Boss Hippo was shown, as it was so obviously remarking at how Itachi's sacrifice was so much more significant than we thought.
I can't believe Carson would LAUGH at this kind of episode, what's next?! If he's willing to laugh at this, then surely at the end of Naruto shippuden when Ten Ten saves the day by seducing Sasuke and Tobi, he would just laugh then too! The madman!
Lindsay was obviously immensely enjoying it and trying to keep along with the extremely complex storyline and reveals, and Carson is LAUGHING?! Unbelievable.

It really pains me to be one of the only Naruto fans who can appreciate this extra flavor and silliness and I also think they enhance the story with extra content, a lot of which I feel is needed as world building and focus to those characters that weren't shown off in the manga, and just giving more funny moments to the show it's just a shame that everyone has to be so dismissive of the fillers because they're in such a hurry to progress the main story, maybe they'd like it more if it wasn't so much but still, even in all those fillers I can find stuff to appreciate

Condor was extra flavor added to the Naruto's whole animal distraction, and I love him because he's this hilarious ornery Ostrich that became a ninja and learned how to speak, he may be funny filler, but mad respect considering this thing started out as a pretty regular angry Ostrich from a filler episode and broke out to add flavor to this episode.
Lindsay, you summer child. If you think this was stupid, then you hadn't seen anything. This is just the cherry on the cake. There are quite a few fillers that are even worse.

That entire episode is 100% cannon even though it's goofy, Tsunade mentioned a fake S-rank mission to distract Naruto before and this is it. It feels like a filler but it isn't at all.

@@charliebaker1427 i actually think kabuto looks sick in tsuru' and nishio's style, also we get to see what he was up to before showing in front of "madara" how he perfectioned the edo tensei and the garhering of the corpses like asuma, also the insane animation trough out the 5 episodes and the surprisingly well developed filler characters.

I'm not sure if you're past it already, but Guren who is filler is probably THE BEST kunoichi in all of Naruto, I wish she was canon.
And it was around this episode that the production of naruto got fked bcause they loat half of their staff to the little chibi show "lee and his ninja pals" that and alao the constant production of movies afected the anime a lot.

That naruto animal arc might have been funny if they made it like 3 minutes long, then something else, then 4 minutes of animals with the intros and say they all like the same girl, then something else, then the girl likes him and the girl is Male, then something else, then that arc wraps up in like 3 more minutes... the chunks were so big they just felt drawn out, like sketch comedy show, they timing made it lame. Just my opinion.
About half of this episode is actually canon, so awful just skip the first half.
