I think that's what makes this video so underrated, most MIDI art sounds like random notes, this sounds like a masterpiece. Like even if it wouldn't spell the title it would still be amazing.
I don't think most people understand what a colossal effort and amount of talent it takes to do this. This should have a LOT more views and likes. Remarkable!
Being a composer myself I cannot make it clear enough that behind this, really skillfull and master-of-the-arts composition techniques are to be found. It's a really great transcriptipn of the Harry Potter music, full of interesting reharmonisations and counterpoint, put together in each other wonderfully intertwining layers of melodies, counter melodies, rhythmic and harmonic accompaniments. Musically it reminds me of the best pianistic fantasies and paraphrases Franz Liszt composed on e.g. opera themes, transforming them into a whole new sound landscape and musical universe. Your paraphrase alone as proof of your shere compositional craftmenship would have sufficed, but then there is the fact that you managed to compose the music not only to the benefit of a convincing aural perception but to generate an optical illusion as well. This is multidimensional art!
The scales are highlighted in the background to make it way easier to place notes and have them form a picture and play a melody. Its actually pretty easy and most people can do it if they have the patience
Thank you all for great comments! Do you all have any requests for other MIDI art you'd like to see? I'm thinking either Game of Thrones or Lord of the Rings
I don't even like Harry Potter but this is underrated asf, to make it sound like an actual piece and also make it look like the title. Must've taken a while

this is composition. you could also do this in an easy way by making the notes that make the shape have a low velocity, and then play the main parts with high velocity. also helps to stay in the same key.
