I stumbled upon your channel and quite enjoy it. Your videos are very informative and insightful. I also enjoy your accent.
Great list! I own the Speedmaster, Hamilton Khaki Field, Oris 400, and the white dial Rolex Explorer II (40mm)! All great watches that I wear regularly.
Great video with a lot of variety. The Monaco is something I've looked at but may just now. The one I still haven't seen in person is the Snowflake, maybe it's better that way if I want to keep out of my overdraft!
I have been a watch enthusiast since 2019 and that was the time I started learning all about the different watch brands and their history. You can never go wrong with an Omega speedmaster or a Rolex and the like. 😍 Keep it up!!😊
Great list! I’ve been really. happy with my pre-owned blue BB58. You really can’t beat it for about $3K.
Great video!
Totally nailed it. Each of those watches are great. Of the 12, I either own (8) or am planning to buy (2). No Rolex Oyster or IWC. Planning on buying the Moonwatch with the crystal and the Monaco. Great job!!!
Love the selection! I started in watches with many Seikos (like the Alpinist) and some Casios, but my first real luxury watch was a Santos Medium (scratchy but very versatile!). Then, I got a BB54, which is my current daily wear. My next 'dream watch' is either an IWC Ingenieur or a Rolex Oyster!
I am so happy to see my Oris Aquis cal 400 on this list...phenomenal watch for the prise !💙
I'd place Longines ahead of a few of those.
The Spirit, Zulu Time, Legend... All stunning pieces at unbelievable value for money.
Got opportunity to get the new white dial speedy, would you go for this over the standard
Longines Spirit Zulu time GMT, in 39 or 42 presents incredible value at the price point and is a beautiful piece. The Black Bay 41 METAS punches well above its weight, especially on the 5-link bracelet, I opted for the burgundy though.
Nice list!
If I were a new enthusiast and heard these prices (except for the Hamilton) I’d run for the hills . There are many, many great watches for a new enthusiast that cost significantly less and snobs still love them.
I wear my Khaki more than any other watch I own. If you are going to pend the money on these other watches I would want something a little more unique.
That’s a great list, but the models presented are not just for newbies in the watch game. A lot of them could be a one and done watch. I got 3 of them or 4 if I’m gonna count my Black Bay 54 too.
great list
Breitling gmt 40 black dial or breitling classic AVI mosquito 42 black dial. Tried both on yesterday similar price trying to choose. Like your opinions. Thank you
My first luxury watch was the Omega Constellation Globemaster on the blue leather strap, the first to get METAS certification unless I'm mistaken. I love the pie pan dial and the date at 6 topped off with the incredibly hard fine fluted Tungsten Carbide bezel I love it and still have it. The jump hour time setting is great for the daylight saving time adjustments without stopping the movement. A forgotten modern classic in my humble opinion
My first "luxury" watch was an Oris Aquis Lake Baikal in 2020. Still love it and wear it all the time.
Mine was Oris Aquis Dat watt. Runs perfect. Baikal was another choice. The dial on Baikal is so nice.
Great list but not sure you can include the new Tudor BB 41 as it just came out and mist watch snobs haven’t ever seen one yet
The Heuer Monaco calibre 11 might be my next piece. It's up against a Sinn 142 Space chronograph or a Tutima 798 military chronograph both powered by the Legendary Lemania 5100
My two watch collection is the hesalite speedmaster and the black bay 54!
I think they will be lonely. You need a third.
Add a gshock ga2100 mate !
@@kushagrasingh516 The 54 is a little monster man, I take it anywhere on an Erika strap from the gym to 7+ mile runs. Still holds within 2 seconds / day and looks brand new after 13 months with me. No need for a gshock even though they are also solid
@@darkstar7742 Eventually possibly an aqua terra or explorer, maybe when I hit my next major milestone since that's when I buy watches
Saving up for a Cartier Santos. Classy . 🙂
He nailed it!
as you said boring watches are watches lived for long time and will continue living on for long . they are the classics . i still like rolex day date presidential no matter how old or boring people may say about it .
Just on the Speedy in this video and already have red flags. Both the hesalite and sapphire have the 3861 coaxial movement, but only the sapphire has the see-through caseback. Other design cues give the sapphire away. The marker at 12 is different, and bracelet small interior links are polished on the sapphire. I bought the sapphire because I wanted to see the movement, and because I wasn’t concerned about shards puncturing my space suit - mostly because I’m not an astronaut. I figured that was an acceptable risk.
Hahhahahahhaha
Apparently your brain has the same firmware as mine.
Why the need to justify at length? Something bothering you about not getting the hesalite?😂
Pretty good list. Depends on price point of course but I’d lean towards suggesting a watch that is an all-rounder just in case their enthusiasm (or funds) wane. Speedmaster is No1 but I’d go for an Explorer 1 as my second choice. Santos 3rd (quartz version if they don’t have the funds for an automatic). IWC is also a great choice but it’s a tough call between the Spitfire, Mk XX and Pilot 36. The Hamilton is next. After that I’d go for a Longine Spirit (normal one if they couldn’t stretch to one of the IWC or Zulu Time as the better choice). I wouldn’t put a Grand Seiko or Tudor on the list. I have the AT blue dial 38mm and the dial colour is addictive but it’s probably a second or third watch in a collection rather than the first
I went into Chisholm Hunter yesterday to ask about the new Tudor 39mm GMT and the Monochrome. They told me these watches wouldn't be available in the shop for me to look at for about a year. But over here, Mr. Customer, you can look at these other Tudors from last year...
Crazy. Wonder why they say that. Got myself one already and Tudor Subreddit is full of monochromes. :) So do not wait for a year without a reason. :D
The piece that started it all in my case was a Cartier lookalike by Tissot. Many others then followed.
Case width of the medium santos is 35mm fyi.
How about Longine’s Ultra Chrono? And Time Lab certification is better than COSC.
Longines Hydroconquest is what looking at for my first proper watch.
The Explorer II with the polar dial was my first luxury watch. TBH I picked it as I didn't want to look cheap and buy an Air King, neither did I want to go into the stratosphere price wise. Still love it even though now my watch knowledge (and purchase history) has moved on!
I have Cartier Santos Dumont , santos de Cartier, Rolex Sub Starbucks, Jlc Reverso , Omega speedmaster , AquaTerra , Iwc Pilot Mark 2 Green 40 mm ,Rolex Op 41 Black and Tudor Black Bay Burgendy
Steve McQueen wore a Hanhart 417es as his Chronograph, the TAG was just a movie prop. 😊 Best regards Oni
It's wasn't a Tag heuer it was just Heuer back then. Heuer didn't become Tag Heuer until 1985
@@lonewolfemcquade8133 ....and the Heuer Monaco was just a prop in 'Le Mans' in 1971. I know that TAG came later into play, but they still advertise the watch as the Steve McQueen watch. It was a perfect product placement, no more no less.
@@onifrakimarq7663Yes it was but Steve McQueen's favorite watch was the Rolex Submariner 5512. It's the watch he wore the most. He even had it on in the beginning of Lemans
Rolex OP 114300 with purple dial is a stunning piece
Man, imagine if the Daytona landed on the moon. It would be like 50k grey market lol
Does Rolex make an hand wound only mechanical? Automatics wouldn’t cut it in space. That being said if I ever got a Speedy I’d be heretical and get the automatic variant.
@@MountieHoo1105Dude the Seiko Speedtimer Pogue was the first automatic chronograph in space worn by Col Pogue and functioned flawlessly
The speedy Hesalite was my first luxury watch
And it will always be at the core of your growing collection. ❤
If these are watches for a new enthusiast, what are the watches for the senior ones????
4/5 of my main watches made it onto the list. The Tudor BB Mono mentioned is the only reason the submariner which would’ve made it 5/5. My watch collection must be extremely boring
Great selection.
I like the Omega Speedmaster, the Cartier Santos, the Tudor Black Bay, the Oris Acquis.
isnt hesalite version closed caseback?
Should of been Left in space
Short answer.. Yes
Harrison, you are misleading people with your images of the speedy. You are talking about the hesalite version and showing the exhibition back of the sapphire version. I know they have the same movement now, but the way you present it is that the hesalite has this exhibition back also.
No….he clearly is shown both. He shows the sapphire to show the difference
@@denbo74 Doesn't say it. To people who don't know they would assume that is the back of the hesalite. Watch it again.
When you're recommending these and they are available in other sizes you should mention this because people who are unaware of this might be a potential customer for that size.
My first luxury watch was an Oris Aquis New York Harbour. It was pretty much an impulse purchase, but after a year of owning it, I still love it just as much as day one!
Tag Heuer Monaco was such an excellent choice for inclusion in this list. It’s a real conversation starter with its modern-vintage look and one can be had for about $5k or less.
Am I wrong here but I thought spring drive GS watches don’t have batteries. I thought the power was kept in a tradition barrel
Yes. The spring drive does have a battery.
You are correct, as usual Harrison makes another little error or misleads. Spring Drive has quartz but no battery. These things should be reviewed and edited out.
I'd love to have an Aqua Terra. But I have a rule....only one watch per brand.
The Cartier Santos medium is not 41.9mm. That’s its lug to lug height measurement. The case width is 35.1mm. Cartier doesn’t even advertise the lug to lug height.
Hmm…For me, beater watches are plastic, everyday watches made of common metals, and luxury watches are crafted from precious metals.
This is more like a list of watches you want to be sure other people can recognize your watch to validate your purchase.
Speedy, Snowflake, Explorer I, the Santos is nice, Id skip the Monaco and probably buy a Pelagos vs the BB. May want to look at a JLC Reverso duo - I like the 1931 tribute, Id probably get that over the Santos
I think if you have money and you have a watch collection it MUST contain a speedmaster ❤
My first luxury watch was a Rolex submariner with the Cyclops. It's gone because it was heavy and inaccurate.
Jisim hunter!
LOL I spell it jizm. Aka spooge or spunk 😅
I stand corrected. Many thanks. A childish comment to be sure. But I will keep making it. On every single video. Until someone explains what a “chisholm” is and why one would hunt it.
@@PDM1967 LOL
Rolex Sub is the best first watch anyone can buy. In fact it’s the best watch anyone can own as their only ever watch.
This is a vídeo for a segment of people not alll have this watches.
IWC Spitfire in bronze looks great. Also really like the Rolex Explorer 2. Great vid.
Also, Hamilton Khaki broken….., who’d have thought that….
Says a lot about the "luxury" watch industry that a hesalite Speedy is now £6.5k compared to the £2.9k I paid from an AD in 2015. There is inflation and then there is taking the piss!
The silver OP with yellow gold hands/indices is the sleekest OP. So hot.
Very interesting... but you missed out G-Shock. No collection is complete without a G-Shock. So, my collection is:-
Omega Speedmaster Moonphase
Omega Seamaster 300
Rolex GMT Master 2 "Rootbeer"
Grand Seiko Snowflake & Shunbun (Spring Drive)
Grand Seiko Tentagraph (5 Hz Chronograph)
Cartier Santos ADLC Black
Cartier Tank Must
Patek Philippe Calatrava Gold
GShock MRG B5000B (Square Retro)
Nice choices. My collection
G Shock GW6900
Tudor BB 41 silver (79540)
Zenith Big Date Flyback black ceramic
Breitling SuperOcean blue (previous gen)
Rolex GMT Root beer
VC 1921
Rolex DD yellow gold president
@@BRV2728 Very good. You could blend our collections perfectly, with just one overlap.
I came so close to buying a Zenith El Primero Chronomaster... maybe in the future.
Tudor is still a potential as well.
But I never fell in love with Breitling, just nothing got me interested in them
I have a collection without a G-Shock. They are just huge and unnecessary to me.
@t-bonemendez9938 Have you looked at the MRG-B5000B-1DR (Retro Square)... looks great alongside a Rolex Rootbeer and Cartier Santos ADLC
My collection doesn't have aG shock. Never liked full digital watches and never will. If I want quartz precision? I'll throw on my Seiko Tuna Marine master Ninja SBBN035 with the Legendary 7C46 high torque movement
I cant beleive the speedy has doubled in price. Its not even a luxary watch ffs
Hardly first watch material here, surely these are grail watches?, or does Harrison earn a bit too much money 🤣
Unless you are dining on the space station, I am wondering the point of hesalite over sapphire
My first luxury watch was a Seiko.
A Seiko LX sea moss in Spring drive. Still my weekend warrior watch, as I have big wrists and most skin divers disappear on my wrist
Speedy 57 is a better watch thqn the moonwatch.
Seamaster 300 heritage is also a great first watch.
I blame TGV for making the watch snob term popular. I absolutely hate it, everyone is now using it on their video titles. But I have never ever met a real life watch snob who made fun of me or whatever for what I wear on my wrist. THEY DON’T EXIST PEOPLE RELAX!
Thank you my experience also
Omega is the God ❤
What’s so special about Metas certification ??? Is it really worth the extra money ??? Cosc has been good enough for years 😂
METAS is a lot more strict with requirements (0 to +5 s/day) vs COSC standards (-4 to +6).
Not to mention that to get a METAS certification they torture test the shit out of each watch in a whole bunch of crazy conditions.
Because they can compete with Omega. It includes the anti-magnetism 15000 Gauss
@@JustMeTalking I just don’t see the point if Metas certification it’s just another selling point from both Omega and Tudor and a way to put the price up, 15000 gauss is way over the top, I’ve had plenty of ETA and Sellita movements and not one of them has ever been magnetised, in fact I’ve never had a watch become magnetised 🤷♂️
@@leeevans8407 If you think Rolex is the King of Marketing... and Omega have Metas Certified watches... Tudor getting Metas certification knocks Omega being able to 'brag' about it on its own... without Rolex 'lowering itself' to the fight.
@@leeevans8407 I have and it's a pain. COSC certified movement as well. So METAS for me is good and why not create stricter certifications?
I can't be the first to say this but il say it anyway. Why do you introduce yourself and then say as always? I
Longines, Oris, Tudor? No
Save up for an entry level IWC, Omega or even a base Oyster Perpetual.
Tudors make me feel queasy
Do you actually add anything of value in this repeat published info presentation?
Did you forget Jaeger LeCoultre like everyone else ?
i refuse to take advice from someone who shaves a line into their eyebrow!
It’s a scar. I’ve had it since I was 10
@@ChisholmHunterOfficialScarbrows are acceptable
please stop overdoing your "pausing" style. I appreciate it but imho you are hamming it up a bit 🤷♂
it just gets a bit much
Hamilton khaki mechanical is dog poo. Sorry, but the movement is terrible with a high number of failures. Also would be better with 10 bar WR
Literally should've picked a G-Shock as the field watch.
mine failed…
Left mine on the roof of my car, watched it fly off at 70 mph, missed the cash I spent on it but not it as a watch. It has character in pictures but not on wrist. Hard pass, buy a vintage Benrus which is what that watch is trying to be.
My khaki mechanical literally runs COSC
the movement’s great. I’ve have one! (lucky me)
If you are a knew watch enthusiast just start with a watch for £50 quid like a used Tissot, not some of these overpriced tool watches
oh boy I would sure love to spend more than a months salary just so that watch snobs can approve of my copious spending for a tool that tells the time.
"Watch snobs love these!"
These are great watches, but you come off as very disingenuous when this is seemingly your biggest reason as to why new enthusiasts should buy the pieces you're showing off.
These watches speak for themselves, and using the "watch snobs love these" phrase, is really doing yourself and the hobby a disservice imo.
I only go to nkuwan to buy a mirror copy watch!
When it comes to fine imitation watches, nkuwan delivers. I've bought from them several times, and I've never been let down.
#nkuwan Bolsa réplica 1:1 con imagen reflejada, resistente y resistente al desgaste. Me gusta mucho.
